“surly unhelpful staff ”

went today and found as usual staff were unhelpful and surly. I had a 6 bags of compost on a trolley and 3 kids with me. Not one of them offered to help me out. Check out bloke wanted me to push barrow to the end till as that was the one working. Eventually someone helped me out. Surly bloke took stuff to the car for me. Never again! PLus most of your plants could do with a really good water. And your staff need some customer service training asap.

“Disappointing frustrating ”

Well. I ordered a set of furniture. After a month of waiting. My tabled ended up discontinued stock. One of my chairs was badly damaged. My parasol base was cracked. And it wasn't dispatched on time. When it comes to trying to contact capital gardens to sort problems out, noone answers the phone or replies to your email. In one word awful

“Items ordered but never received”

“Terrible service”

My delivery was delayed because an item was not in stock- fair enough. When ready for dispatch they asked what day I would like it delivering on (very good). When delivered only one item was delivered- the item that had not been in stock. The other items were not dispatched, they were still in London. So a day off work wasted. I complained. They agreed to deliver on a Saturday at no extra charge. I checked on the Friday that the item was going to be delivered on the Saturday. They assured me it was. Come Saturday, no Tracking advice from the courier, so I call them. Apparently Capital Gardens had given the Couriers clear instructions to deliver on the Monday. Apalling. So I have to take another day off work. It would have been quicker and cheaper to drive to London and collect the items in person. I would never order anything from them again.

“Terrible service”

I ordered a clock but it is faulty i have emailed them twice spoken twice only to be told some one will call back but nothing, very quick to take my money but after service is one of the worst.

“DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY”

I ordered a birdtable for £59 online in the Capital Gardens sale. When it finally arrived there were no assembly instructions, and most of the wood was not pre drilled. I do not have a drill and even if I did, I would find it impossible to do. I rang the company explaining politely that the table was faulty expecting an apology and the promise of a replacement. I was not given one, quite the opposite. I was told that it was so simple to assemble that no instructions were needed and that it wasn't supposed to be pre-drilled! If I wasn't happy with the table they would collect it for £30! I would advise anyone to avoid this dreadful company which offers the worst customer service I've ever come accross. I only wish I had read these reviews before I foolishly ordered from them. It is now lying on my garage floor.

“lists items as in stock when they aren't”

I ordered with them as the items I wanted were a good price and listed as in stock. A few days later I received an email saying they were preparing for despatch, but several days later they had not arrived. My order history had been updated to 'on order with supplier'. I rang, and was told new stock was expected in about 2 or 3 weeks (they had already taken the money from my card). I decided to cancel the order and pay a little more to get the stuff from somewhere that actually had it. It has taken me several days and a number of phone calls to cancel the order - the money has not yet arrived back in my account, but I have finally received an email that the order is cancelled. I would not use them again.

...and when they do they are downright rude. This company take your money for months at a time, never answer calls or emails and if you are lucky enough to get a response they act like they are doing you a favour. Grow up - companies like this won't last much longer. Avoid.

Sorry but we appear to be a target of rather unsolicited comments. Any one going on our site can clearly see that we are part of a garden centre group and DO NOT OPERATE FROM A Flat.

“Avoid at all costs”

Ordered 2 items on the 23rd September - Both items listed as 'IN STOCK' Chased 4 days later as no delivery to find that one of the items was listed as awaiting supplier delivery - Eventually got an order status mail from them on the 1st October stating my items were being readied for dispatch, followed by another status mail on the 3rd, stating TNT had collected my order and would deliver next day It's now the morning of the 6th October and still no delivery so have tracked the delivery with TNT to find that the delivery date was changed by sender(?) Why!?! Tried to contact Capital Gardens and get the 'office closed message' so nobody there to advise what the hell is going on! I've checked my order whilst online and to my utter frustration/annoyance find that the main item I need hasn't even been dispatched as it's now listed as 'sold out unavailable' - I have had NO contact at all from this useless company advising this as they obviously DO NOT CARE but are still happy to take my money - Checked with my card company and they have refunded but with NO communication from them explaining why! This is probably the worst online company I have ever dealt with as they obviously over promise and sell with NO stock holding relying on supplier delivery which invariably delays dispatch - Totally avoid doing business with Capital Gardens as they are the worst type online company and I wish I had taken time to research them on the reviews page and read the similar complaints from others which would have made me swerve irregardless of whatever discounting hooks - Avoid, avoid, avoid

“Do Not Use”

ordered a flymo, underthe premise that the order would take 2-3 working days. 2-3 working days later the money had not even been taken out of my account. tried phoning them no luck, email bounced back. in the end i had to cancel my payment card. what ever you do, do not use them.

“avoid”

ordered a garden bench. the back was too small for the seat and therefore i have had to return with a photo showing the problems. Have tried on several occations to send the email but keep getting it bounced back. The company have made it very hard to return things even when the fault lies with them. I have spent alot of time trying to sort out the problem with nil avail avoid at all costs

“Useless. Avoid at all costs. ”

They tell you stuff is in stock when it isn't. They take your money, promise delivery dates, do not turn up, do not even contact you before or after to explain or fix a new date. They ignore e mails asking what is going on. They have taken payment from me and I still do not have my goods or any idea when (if ever) thye will arrive. I would not deal with this company again. I had to rate them as 1 star simply because there is no option for zero which is what they deserve.

“Good prices, very poor service”

Capital Gardens are very enticing with their attractive prices however their actual fulfilment and customer service have little to be desired. False delivery times and no contact to let you know of delay. I'd recommend paying a little extra and getting your purchases when you want them rather than when it seems convenient for Capital Gardens.

“Hopeless online order service that is misleading. ”

On the 29th June, I placed an order with this company. They offered free delivery within 2-3 days and also offered a discount voucher. I checked the status of my order after a week to find that the items were shown as being on order with the supplier. I received no e-mail from the company to tell me this! I contacted them by e-mail and was told they were expecting the goods within 7 - 10 days. After that time, they sent me an e-mail to say the goods were being prepared for despatch. Yippeee! Two days later, I got an e-mail to say my order status had changed. Hoping to see the goods had finally been sent, I checked the status only to find that the "free" shipping was now a delivery charge of £20! All of this took 18 days - ridiculous. I cancelled my order needless to say! I do a lot of purchasing online and have never encountered such terrible, couldn't care less service.

“Non-Existing Stock, Fail to Deliver on Time”

“6 months until delivery”

I ordered a parasol cover in September, and item was finally delivered in April the following year. No attempt was made to contact me either by email or phone to say it would be delayed. When item arrived it was the wrong size and colour to my confirmed order. When I asked to return it they refused to cover the cost of postage. I have to admire Capital Gardens customer service. Unlike some poor internet retailers, Capital Gardens are not content at merely appearing not very good and strive to reach the pinnacle of hopelessness. I salute them on achieving this goal.

“Way too slow and extremely poor communication”

In general I don't like buying from sellers who offer products they don't have in stock, particularly when they take your money immediately. For some big ticket purchases it is sometimes unavoidable. Despite other warnings I figured that the suggested time frame of '~1 week' online was worth a punt. Because I was nerovpus I kept in touch - depsite advising that they could consider the order canelled after a 2-3 week wait I got a despatch notification today after a full month has gone by. Now I've got to try to stop the order coming and get my money back.

Do not use this company. Order taken, money taken but these guys deliver when they like if they like. Extremely hard to get hold of on the phone, don't reply to emails. Twice bitten by internet companies in the last month. Could this be the end of internet shopping? For me, it could be. When is a bargain not a bargain!
