“Very happy with service, price and delivery options”

I am on a mission to make my garden more wildlife and bird friendly after a shocking showing in this years RSPB Garden Watch - two pigeons and a magpie. Having ordered some great free guides from the RSPB I had completed a little design and drawn up a shopping list and as I don't drive popping to my local garden center for bulky wasn't an option. Have just received a wooden bird station from capital gardens. It was much cheaper than local garden centres. It arrived assembled and well packed and in perfect condition.. I started to get a little concerned after I ordered a power-washer online from Capital Gardens but didn't receive any email or acknowledgment of the order. It was then that I found this review site with all the negative reviews and started to worry. I ordered some Town and Country wellington boots. A couple of months later, they started splitting along a seem. FANTASTIC customer service - I was asked to send a picture of the boot and then immediately sent a replacement pair. BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE received in a long time!! (read more)

I ordered a birdtable for £59 online in the Capital Gardens sale. When it finally arrived there were no assembly instructions, and most of the wood was not pre drilled. I do not have a drill and even if I did, I would find it impossible to do. I rang the company explaining politely that the table was faulty expecting an apology and the promise of a replacement. I ordered with them as the items I wanted were a good price and listed as in stock. A few days later I received an email saying they were preparing for despatch, but several days later they had not arrived. My order history had been updated to 'on order with supplier'. I rang, and was told new stock was expected in about 2 or 3 weeks (they had already taken the money from my card). ...and when they do they are downright rude. This company take your money for months at a time, never answer calls or emails and if you are lucky enough to get a response they act like they are doing you a favour. Grow up - companies like this won't last much longer. Avoid. (read more)

Sorry but we appear to be a target of rather unsolicited comments. Any one going on our site can clearly see that we are part of a garden centre group and DO NOT OPERATE FROM A Flat.
To our knowledge we have not taken anyone's money for months at a time . If this can be proved please tell us who and when otherwise please remove this review.

Ordered 2 items on the 23rd September - Both items listed as 'IN STOCK' Chased 4 days later as no delivery to find that one of the items was listed as awaiting supplier delivery - Eventually got an order status mail from them on the 1st October stating my items were being readied for dispatch, followed by another status mail on the 3rd, stating TNT had collected my order and would deliver next day It's now the morning of the 6th October and still no delivery so have tracked the delivery... ordered a garden bench. the back was too small for the seat and therefore i have had to return with a photo showing the problems. Have tried on several occations to send the email but keep getting it bounced back. The company have made it very hard to return things even when the fault lies with them. They tell you stuff is in stock when it isn't. They take your money, promise delivery dates, do not turn up, do not even contact you before or after to explain or fix a new date. They ignore e mails asking what is going on. They have taken payment from me and I still do not have my goods or any idea when (if ever) thye will arrive. I would not deal with this company again. I had to rate them as 1 star simply because there is no option for zero which is what they deserve. (read more)

Capital Gardens are very enticing with their attractive prices however their actual fulfilment and customer service have little to be desired. False delivery times and no contact to let you know of delay. I'd recommend paying a little extra and getting your purchases when you want them rather than when it seems convenient for Capital Gardens. (read more)

Wasn't sure from all the bad reviews, but went ahead as couldn't turn down the prices. They kept me updated all the way, let me know when i was going to receive my delivery and asked the delivery people to give me a call before delivery. I did need help unloading the pallet, but the guys were really nice and helped me out ( manners get you everywhere! ). On the 29th June, I placed an order with this company. They offered free delivery within 2-3 days and also offered a discount voucher. I checked the status of my order after a week to find that the items were shown as being on order with the supplier. I received no e-mail from the company to tell me this! I ordered a parasol cover in September, and item was finally delivered in April the following year. No attempt was made to contact me either by email or phone to say it would be delayed. When item arrived it was the wrong size and colour to my confirmed order. When I asked to return it they refused to cover the cost of postage. I have to admire Capital Gardens customer service. Echo other comments re delivery times and service. Item I ordered was out of stock, although wedsite did not indicate this, then waited 2 weeks to be told it was sold out. In general I don't like buying from sellers who offer products they don't have in stock, particularly when they take your money immediately. For some big ticket purchases it is sometimes unavoidable. Despite other warnings I figured that the suggested time frame of '~1 week' online was worth a punt. Jeepers Creepers! I searched for reviews on Capital Gardens after ordering a load of garden furniture from them and started to panic after reading all of them on here! I just received my furniture and it was great! No need to panic at all. Late delivery, recieved email stating delivery date that was longer than advertised, not a major problem took day off to wait for the delivery then at 4pm recived another email stating that it wouldn't arrive until the next day. As the items were cheap I expected no real service for the products I ordered. Saying that the website should not state 48 hour delivery when actually it takes longer and don't bother with delivery instructions as these will not be read by the delivery company (TNT). Also as there was a large hole in the box some of the screws were missing. I ordered a Hunnington bird table as a Christmas present, price was £20 cheaper than anywhere else and free delivery. It arrived without problems but on opening the package we found one of the slates to be broken. I spoke to an extremely helpful lady (Leanne) at customer services, and after sending her a photograph of the damage she immediately despatched a replacement which arrived the next day. I've placed 2 orders with this company, the first was a watering can which I had to phone up and check that they were actually going to send me after 2 weeks. They did in the end but they don't bother to tell you/email you to keep you updated. The second order was a complete disaster, one month later still not arrived, so I phoned to check. I read a couple of poor reviews prior to ordering a pre-formed pond, but recent reviews seemed better and the product was what I wanted. I received an e-mail to confirm my order and another to tell me of progress. On the day before delivery I received a telephone call telling me of the planned delivery. Quite a few bad reviews on the web for these guys but I have to say my experience was the opposite. Due to the bad reviews I felt like I might be taking a gamble, but their prices were so good I felt it worth the risk.
I'm pleased to say though that the order was handled very well. Good order status updates, provision of delivery tracking numbers, and when I did have a query and had to ring customer services they answered promptly and were very helpful.
I can only recommend them !

Called three days after I ordered and left a message. Called 4 hours later after no return phone call to be met by some woman who couldn't have cared less, citing that they were 'really backed up'.
A week delivery time for items that are apparently in stock just isn't good enough - especially when they don't take the courtesy to tell you.
Unfortunately it's companies like this that give small mail order websites a bad name. I don't trust them and won't order again.

A false economy if ever there was one.
I wanted some Echinops Veitch's Blue plants but couldn't locate them locally. So, I purchased six online for what I thought was a very good price at £10.99 delivered.
The plants were beautifully packaged and came quickly in two working days.
Unfortunately I did not realise that they were just sections of root, one of which was rotten. Only two grew, very weakly. I would recommend buying growing plants from a nursery as these were rubbish.

Whilst the process of purchase was easy, delivery was the opposite, despite confirming the dispatch date, for an in-stock item, this came and went with no update from the company and I had to chase to get a response. No goodwill was offered and when a suggestion of a delivery cost refund was made this was straight blankly refused. This is poor especially as you have no choice over method of delivery and have to accept a flat-rate 48 hour delivery service that doesn't deliver! (read more)

I have used Capital Gardens 3 times to buy goods over the past few weeks. Prices are reasonable. Goods arrive well packaged and are of good quality. I have bought a terracota pot, raised bed frame, mini greenhouse, pest control and some seeds. The downside is that the website states 'shipping in 48 hours' and on all 3 occasions, even for the seeds, I have waited a week or more. Reviews of Capital Gardens London have been interesting...I tried some years ago to get a trade card as I am a gardener and visited centres on a regular basis. I also received no response/followup from their head office in Highgate. I thought if they're not interested in my business then...! Ordered 1000 pounds worth of furniture from Capital Gardens London. They don't answer calls and e-mails in general, and don't get back to you. unless it is before the actual sale. They failed to deliver the item ordered on the confirmed date. Waited in all day. They are now avoiding paying a refund.
