Good Points: Good escapism - no bad language, no social message, no smoking, no PC stuff, no drugs and no shots inside a men's lavatory. Smashing colours and dance sequences (I can't spell choriography).
Bad Points: Sound quality off my brand new DVD very disappointing and certainly not up to 2008 standards. My 5 year old audio DVD has better sound with more punch.
General comments: Lead girlie has some very disturbing eye movements in early scenes but this did get better - perhaps the director (or a friend) told her to stop it! DVD certainly worth the Tesco price of under £8 but glad I didn't pay full retail for it!

Fantastic film! Very unusual and well-cast. I saw it three times in the cinema and everyone was getting up and clapping in the aisles and the atmosphere in the cinema was electric! Very special, a definite must-see! :-). Superb! Great music too!- Read Guest's review (42 words)

My husband & I absolutely Loved Mama Mia, we saw it 8 times & will take our neighbor to see it. I thought the acting was great, of course the music was the best. It was so up beat and enjoyable and I loved to sing-a-long with all the Abba songs. We have told everyone who will listen about it and recommend that they go see it for themselves. "Thank you for the Music," the songs their singing, thanks for all the JOY they're bringin. Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty. What would life be ...- Read Guest's review (126 words)

I really enjoyed Mamma Mia, as it is just a general laugh and it is always good for a laugh with your mates. It was ok but got a bit boring lasting for an hour and fourty nine minutes. I think on the Whole this film was great in someways and could really cheer you up but in others it really isn't something i'd go and see again.- Read Guest's review (68 words)

Mamma Mia The Movie was just fun. We went out of the theatre smiling and hummed the tunes all the way home. It did what a musical is meant to do; entertain.- Read Guest's review (32 words)

People were surprised in the cinema as to where this film took them, the journey was fantastic and gave us the same shivery buzz that 'Grease' gave us and other unique films (I'm 33 by the way, i saw Grease on betamax). I am a singer and i cannot believe people on here knocked the singing ......whoosh the film went right over yer heed. Brilliantly uplifting! Hail the cast!!- Read ShotTheDot's review (116 words)

It was embarassingly bad. Corny and cheesy. Cannot believe these well established and respected actors could appear in such a film. Most people like it, or say they do! I think it is 'The emperors new clothes' syndrome. No-one wants to be the odd one out!- Read Guest's review (51 words and 1 comment)

Really enjoyable romp. Saw it with my daughter and then had to take my sister and niece to see it while holidaying with them. Until she went she couldn't understand why I was so insistent that we went.
Pierce Brosnan can't really sing, bless him, but he puts his all into giving it a go. Julie Walters and Meryl Streep are wonderful casting decisions.
I've laughed and sung my heart out.- Read Joyous's review (91 words)

I was so looking forward to seeing the film - what a huge disappointment. Ham acting all the way through. Forcing down our throats that it was meant to be comical had the reverse effect - apart from when we were meant to believe that Meryl Streep was able to leg it up the steep mountainside in high heels, red scarf billowing behind her, to reach the church at the top - now that was funny.- Read marytew's review (100 words and 1 comment)

This is a fabulously funny movie, with great songs and an impeccable cast. I loved the Greek Chorus; one of the funniest, scene-stealing groups of people ever seen in a film. The choreography is excellent and the cast do well in the singing stakes - even Pierce Brosnan, who knows he can't sing well but gives it some welly, although he does look a bit constipated when singing SOS! I'm going to see it again, and might even try and find a 'singalong' showing as the temptation to join in is very str ...- Read Guest's review (102 words)

I really enjoyed Mama Mia, and had a great laugh with my friends. It isn't quite as good as some of the reviews i had read, or perhaps my expectations were too high! The singing wasn't always amazing, but it didn't take away from what is basically a feel good film with a few laughs. I probably wouldn't watch it again but would tell people it is worth a watch.- Read alexiataylor's review (70 words)

Very tongue in cheek.... The singing's not always the best, and the stars don't always look their best, but that's part of the charm! When they're supposed to be red eyed, they are! And when they can't sing they do ok! Great feel good movie, if you go in to see theatre on film, and are not looking for the world to be perfect!- Read crazydawn's review (81 words)

I thought the main leads Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried were fantastic they really jelled together. Yes it is a little cheesy but why not with all the rubbish that's going on in the world, we all need a little outlet, just wish i could of been in it!!- Read star2be's review (66 words)
