I just can't get enough of watching this film. It's a good film to watch with anyone. I've watched it at the Cinema with my Mum. Sister and Stepdad so you can even watch it with the guys and i have also watched it on girly nights in. The soundtrack is full of lovely songs. The scenery for the film which is based in Greece is just so beautiful. It's a good film to sing along to too. Everything you needed to get your attention towards Mamma Mia is on the cover. But is it the gorgeous scenery... (read more)

Lead girlie has some very disturbing eye movements in early scenes but this did get better - perhaps the director (or a friend) told her to stop it! DVD certainly worth the Tesco price of under £8 but glad I didn't pay full retail for it! (read more)

Fantastic film! Very unusual and well-cast. I saw it three times in the cinema and everyone was getting up and clapping in the aisles and the atmosphere in the cinema was electric! Very special, a definite must-see! :-). Superb! Great music too! (read more)

My husband & I absolutely Loved Mama Mia, we saw it 8 times & will take our neighbor to see it. I thought the acting was great, of course the music was the best. It was so up beat and enjoyable and I loved to sing-a-long with all the Abba songs. We have told everyone who will listen about it and recommend that they go see it for themselves. "Thank you for the Music," the songs their singing, thanks for all the JOY they're bringin. Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty. What would... (read more)

I really enjoyed Mamma Mia, as it is just a general laugh and it is always good for a laugh with your mates. It was ok but got a bit boring lasting for an hour and fourty nine minutes. I think on the Whole this film was great in someways and could really cheer you up but in others it really isn't something i'd go and see again. (read more)

People were surprised in the cinema as to where this film took them, the journey was fantastic and gave us the same shivery buzz that 'Grease' gave us and other unique films (I'm 33 by the way, i saw Grease on betamax). I am a singer and i cannot believe people on here knocked the singing ......whoosh the film went right over yer heed. Brilliantly uplifting! Hail the cast!! (read more)

It was embarassingly bad. Corny and cheesy. Cannot believe these well established and respected actors could appear in such a film. Most people like it, or say they do! I think it is 'The emperors new clothes' syndrome. No-one wants to be the odd one out! (read more)

Really enjoyable romp. Saw it with my daughter and then had to take my sister and niece to see it while holidaying with them. Until she went she couldn't understand why I was so insistent that we went.
Pierce Brosnan can't really sing, bless him, but he puts his all into giving it a go. Julie Walters and Meryl Streep are wonderful casting decisions.
I've laughed and sung my heart out.

I was so looking forward to seeing the film - what a huge disappointment. Ham acting all the way through. Forcing down our throats that it was meant to be comical had the reverse effect - apart from when we were meant to believe that Meryl Streep was able to leg it up the steep mountainside in high heels, red scarf billowing behind her, to reach the church at the top - now that was funny. This is a fabulously funny movie, with great songs and an impeccable cast. I loved the Greek Chorus; one of the funniest, scene-stealing groups of people ever seen in a film. The choreography is excellent and the cast do well in the singing stakes - even Pierce Brosnan, who knows he can't sing well but gives it some welly, although he does look a bit constipated when singing SOS! I'm going to see it again, and might even try and find a 'singalong' showing as the temptation to join in is very... (read more)

I really enjoyed Mama Mia, and had a great laugh with my friends. It isn't quite as good as some of the reviews i had read, or perhaps my expectations were too high! The singing wasn't always amazing, but it didn't take away from what is basically a feel good film with a few laughs. I probably wouldn't watch it again but would tell people it is worth a watch. Very tongue in cheek.... The singing's not always the best, and the stars don't always look their best, but that's part of the charm! When they're supposed to be red eyed, they are! And when they can't sing they do ok! Great feel good movie, if you go in to see theatre on film, and are not looking for the world to be perfect! (read more)

Mamma Mia is such a fun film to see. The actors were great, Meryl Streep was wonderful and the music was a lift to anyone's morale. I so enjoyed this movie that I saw it twice with friends and I am ready to go and see it again. It is that infectious!
Anyone who is maybe down in the dumps needs to see this film and it will automatically have you singing and dancing to your car. Have nothing but good things to say about this movie.
To sum it all up "it was absolutely great."

Meryl Streep has proved she can sing and dance as well a being a great actor.
Amanda Seyfried lit up the screen and should become a huge star after her performance.
Julie Walters - what can I say - almost stole the show.
Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth - gorgeous to look at as ever.

Hard to think of any good points. Erm ..... the island looks like a nice place to visit for an afternoon whilst on holiday. So many, if you imagine being a very small mouse in a very very large cheese factory you might get close to what this film was about. I disagree with this review because regardless of the reviewer's experience I felt that it is a brilliant movie. It's meant to be cheesy and camp, and it's meant to have poor choreography. It's a statement about what it means to be over 40, yet young inside!
