I bought this Minolta Maxxum 300si 35mm SLR camera second hand and after exposing a couple of films I have come to the conclusion the camera is a good basic easy to use camera for the beginner.
The results were good but not exceptional, as sometimes the auto exposure was caught out by a very light subject and I wish it had a manual overide.
The flash performed well with no sign of 'red eye'

This Minolta Maxxum 300si 35mm SLR camera had a reasonable selling price but was replacing a "point and shoot" Olympus. After a few years of light use, the flash failed. 18 months after paying a $100.00 (U.S.) for repair by Minolta, the camera has 2 more problems.
