I think what this poor young girl went through was so tramatic and it really touched my heart when I read it.
Bert Sparks, It Happened to Nancy: The True Story of a Teenager, was recommended to me by my librarian. Once I picked it up I didn't want to put it down till I was finished the whole book. She was really brave to publish this book, it was incredibly nice of her to let other know what she has experienced at such a young age. She wants young girls to read this book so they won't make the same mistake she did. She learned from her mistake but it cost her life. It's my favorite book and I am currently writing an essay about it because it affected my life, I felt her pain even though I never experienced anything like that. I just put myself in her shoes and now I am very careful about men. This is a must read for every girl out there!

It Happened to Nancy: The True Story of a Teenager is actually a diary and is so good and so sad. Nancy lived such a happy life even though she knew she had AIDS. I love her for that. And, for never giving up when she wanted to. Loved all off it!!! great great book!- Read Guest's review (55 words)

This is the type of book I had to sit and think about because it's so hard to grasp the fact that it really happened. "Nancy" was so full of life and I really enjoyed her as a character in the book. She had such personality I had to keep telling myself this was a real girl who was raped @ 14 and then died at my age 2 years later or so. I felt so bad for all the other characters at the end of the story. Especially her parents and Lew.- Read MusicLover08's review (149 words)

It goes to show that anything can happen to anyone. It also shows that you shouldn't trust everybody. I think this story should be read by all teenagers. If you are dealing with AIDS you should especialy read this book. I liked this book too because the girl learned to really find herself. This book could shed a lot of valuble information for a lot of young teens.- Read ishamay06's review (104 words)
