Please please, don't take your children to this dirty disgusting park.
I don't know if we were in bronze or silver but we were in a chalet.
We arrived, and dumped our bags then went out for the evening. It was only when we returned we realised the full horror of our chalet.
The stench when entering was 70% mould, 20% urine and 10% dog. There was mould on the wall of bedroom number 2. The mattresses were old, cheap and smelt of damp... maybe even damp dog. Bedroom number one had a small heater, woo-hoo. The floors were sticky and dirty. Also we discovered the chalet had a mosquito infestation that hadn't been dealt with. There was a small portable tv attractively dumped in the living room. I looked around the chalet and there was a hole in the wallpaper (woodchip)in one bedroom. There were patches of shiny paint on the ceiling, I thought it was water dripping through at first but no Hubby pointed out they had used gloss to patch up the ceiling. There was mould on the duvet in bedroom 1. Disgusting. We reluctantly and tentatively sat on the cheap and frankly very nylon/polyester cheap sofa... the result of which was flea bites on my ankles. The skirting boards were so filthy they were actually patches of black grime on it.
The cheap electric heater in the living room had DO NOT REMOVE in black felt tip written on it and I felt this summed up the place nicely. The other heater didn't have writing on it and it didn't work either.
I reluctantly put our sheets on the beds because the children were ready for sleep. We put them to bed on the least minging bed.
Then we looked in the kitchen cupboards, even though they were relatively new... they all stank of damp and so did all the crockery and cutlery and I knew that I just couldn't prepare a meal here.
Neither of us slept. We laid on the bed and were attacked by gangs of mosquitos.
So we got up extra early and threw everything in the car as quickly as we could because we couldn't wait to get out of there. Chucked the keys through receptions letterbox at 7am and thanked our lucky stars that we escaped with our health.
The children were dissapointed because they had just got to the seaside !
All in all we survived 12 hours at this park and I would never ever go to a Park Resorts park again. First and last time.
I rang reception on the way home to check they had the keys and she curtly said 'yes'. No questioning of why we had left as soon as we had arrived... clearly they are used to it and didn't want me to go into detail.
I've sent a lengthy email telling them that the chalet isn't fit for the purpose of which is it provided. Of course they haven't replied. This won't be the end of it... I will contact the Trading Standards and any other authority who will listen until this frankly dangerous park demolish these chalets. If you didn't know black mould can cause lung infections expecially in children and older adults, which can lead to permanent lung damage.
It doesn't matter how much or how little you paid for your holiday. Your accomodation should be SAFE to use!
Everything we took out of our bags now stinks of mould. Clothes, bedding and soft toys! We were only there 12 hours, what would have happened after 3 nights ? I dread to think.
We arn't fussy people, I am definately not a clean freak and can put up with a bit of dirt .. you just clean it but this place was not just disgusting it was bloody dangerous. Park Resorts should be ashamed.

OMG Carmarthen Bay is terrible the dirtist smelliest chalets ive ever seen. Damp, mould growing everywhere, and thats the Gold ones. I pity anyone thats paid good, well earned money on holiday on its park. They really need to re-value all their holiday park.
The evening entertainment was fair and the team stars were really good throughout the whole week. (the only good thing, Welldone)
The other staff, well. Very rude!!- Read Guest's review (71 words)

Well literally it was a caravan in a field deserted nothing good around it that is if you want to have a 1 hour drive to something "good".
The swimming pool was decent but the chalet Oh My God!!! terrible Dirty Noisy etc... Entertainment not funny at all Overall it was the worst holiday I have ever gone to.- Read Gary Phillips's review (58 words)

Just come back from a weeks holiday at Carmathen Bay Holiday Park. We stayed in a silver chalet. Very cold and damp. The walls were black with it. Took an hour to clean the place up when we got there because it was so dirty. Every day our bedding was damp because it was so damp in the chalet. Our chalet was supposed to be situated by a beach but it was by a high wall of rocks and the beach was covered in rocks. Entertainment was rubbish, nothing for the 12-17 year age group.
There are no ...- Read michelle260371's review (127 words)

I thoroughly enjoyed this holiday even though it was the 7th time I have been to Park Resorts Carmarthen Bay. The caravan was fantastic, the Teamstars were wonderful and all of the entertainment was awesome. My family, ages 10-40+, have decided that this was one of the best holidays ever. We would have liked to have our party split into two caravans next door to each other instead of 20+ caravans away. I would definitely recommend this park to anyone who likes peace, a great time, fun and a litt ...- Read Guest's review (92 words)

I have just returned from a weeks holiday at Carmarthen Bay Holiday Resort. There were five in our group all different ages ranging from 9-73, we all had a great time. The chalet was clean and well equiped, beach was 3 mins walk away and very clean, the food in the restaurant was good value for money and large portions, we had 2 lunches and 3 evening meals, all different. The entertainment was great, the shop comprehensive, my niece loved the pool, playground area and fishing in the rock pools. ...- Read Guest's review (134 words)

Well, what can we say, having just arrived home, much to everyone's relief. Firstly we arrived at Park Resorts Carmarthen Bay at midday and had to wait until 4.30pm for a SILVER CHALET! On entering the Chalet, we were disgusted with the whole thing, it smelt, was unclean and looked like the fruntiure had seen better days, furniture was shabby and dirty and we didnt want to sit on the sofas, the matresses on the beds were even worse ! We started to clean the place oursleves, (after a 4 hour) ...- Read Guest's review (177 words)

Cannot believe that this resort is so badly sign posted, the roads are so narrow it can be quite scary when a lorry is coming the other way. Our caravan was beautiful, with a balcony all round, pity that we could not site out as it rained the whole time we were there. The park is very run down, the showbar and indoor pool are in urgent need of a refurb, they both smell a bit and are dark and dingy. Food not up to much, we eat in most nights, entertainment staff very good, my little girl (4) ...- Read Guest's review (134 words)

I visited Carmarthe Bay Park Dean resorts at the beginning of July. My family and I stayed in one of the Gold chalets, which was small but ideal. The view was lovely and it was only a short walk to the clubhouse.
Unfortunately, our holiday was cut short due to a nasty car accident - thankfully, the staff at Park Dean resorts were fantastic and helped my family a great deal. My mother, my son and myself were taken to Carmarthen hospital and a member of staff dropped my father and my husband to t ...- Read Guest's review (134 words)

Stayed in silver 2 caravan as all that was on offer (booked with hoseasons wouldn't use them again as info misleading - stated in brochure direct beach access, when there wasn't a beach, but an estuary. They weren't able to comment on the resort as no advisor I spoke to had any knowledge of the park!) Would have been nice to have been better informed knowing what to expect. However, estuary was beautiful and the entertainment - absolutely amazing. Special thanks to the manager who along with ...- Read Guest's review (278 words)

Just come back from 3 nights at Park Resorts Carmarthen Bay.
It was booked for 4 but we had had enough.
My wife burst in to tears when she saw the state of the caravan.
We had to stay in a bronze caravan because this is all we were allowed with our dog. The caravan was grim and looked like it hadn't had anything done to it in 30yrs.
The park is miles away from anywhere pleasant.
We drove to Pembrokeshire everyday. (50mins each way)
Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
Their brochure writers ...- Read Guest's review (95 words)

Very disappointed with the Park Resorts Carmarthen Bay, the caravan was not cleaned to a very high standard and found this to be the case with the toilets all around the park, including those in the swimming pool. Thank goodness we had good weather. I would not stay on this park again.- Read Guest's review (135 words)
