If you want to consult a doctor quickly without spending too much time and money, this is the place for you. I have asked three questions, two related to my skin and one about my periods and found all answers very helpful. I feel it’s a lot better than just ignoring things, which I was doing for several months because carving one day out from my schedule to visit a clinic seemed so impossible. I paid my $35.00 and asked the doctor a question. The website states that you pay nothing if your question is not answered within 24 hours. At 24 hours, an email arrived saying the doctor needed more time, but I did not get my money back. Do not use this site--it is rubbish. (read more)

While you can “register” as a doctor in HealthcareMagic, you will need to pass several levels of scrutiny before you can answer questions as a doctor. As a standard routine, we purge profiles of doctors who do not pass our rigorous quality control parameters. We take the quality of our answers seriously and hence do the most stringent checks on answers before one reaches a customer.

“Real online doctor for high cholesterol”

Last weekend I got my cholesterol test done and was really bothered why it had shot to over 260 when I am still not in my forties. Do not use this site. It misleads you into expecting a quick answer ( 'the doctor has already started work on your question') Then you pay and sit and wait- nothing happens. I didnt like the way that it said "a doctor is processing your question", it was a way to encourage you to pay, there was no doctor reading my question or preparing an answer, it fed into my need for support and although ultimately it wasn't the reason I payed, It could be for others. I've only tried their specialist option, and I found it really useful - the gynecologist (Dr. Chetna Jain) was insightful and understanding, and the service worked very efficiently. As I was working in Paris at the time, the online answer in English was much more helpful than I was expecting. Not only did they not answer my question, they will not respond to my request for a refund. I have sent several emails, direct and through the website, all you get back is an automated "we got your email" we'll get back to you and that's the last you hear from them. I was desperate for a response and after 3 days I still haven't received one. Immediately after I had paid I received some notification providing me with a registration password, so I assumed that I just needed to wait for a response. I waited for an hour or so, no response. So I email them asking for a response and was told that I hadn't paid. I sent them the confirmation I received and I haven't heard from Healthcare Magic ever since. I have used this online site on 3 occasions.The experience is nice and the customer service is good.On 2 occasions i got an answer within 40 minutes from the obgyn.Third time when i used, i wanted to get an answer from pediatric gastroenterologist and it took 8 hours.It was kind of good as they promised 24 hours and my specialist appointment was a month away.I got the answers in the price range of $10-$25.Don't try them at morning hours as their overseas specilists may be in a different time... Great idea, except that my doctor's remarks came 24 hours after I submitted my question, not the "minutes" I read about on the site. And when I received my doctor's response, I could only read part of the first sentence. The link to the rest of his/her advice didn't work so I can't get the full information. The doctor I chatted with took forever to respond, and when he did, it was short, grammatically incorrect sentences. It was like I was chatting with a teenager pretending to be a Doctor. He basically just told me everything I already knew from researching on wikipedia. In fact, he literally quoted wikipedia verbatim- as if he was just copy and pasting from the site.
