Good Points: Great community, endless play value. Read the below for more info.

General comments: Aegis is a huge fantasy world where players assume the role of leaders and strive to better their province through battle, magic, and politics. Aegis is a MMORPG amongst the best of its class, with thousands of players online. We have an active community with chats, forum and where role-playing is much the order of the day.

The game is totally browser based and FREE. You do not need to download or install anything. Features include: icons, graphics, over 50 troop types and 70 buildings to choose from, unlimited game play and an endless world (we do not reset).

To play, all you need to do is go and fill in the registration form, this takes 2 minutes and you will need a valid email. Once this is done you are ready to log in and enjoy the game!

In Aegis, you can choose whatever role you want. Want to be a barbarian that lives only to fight? Join an aggressive kingdom with other barbarians and let the king handle the politics. Want to be peaceful? Join a peaceful kingdom and grow to your heart s content. Desire battle and politics? With a bit of observing and help from your kingdom, you can become adept at both and have twice the fun. The game s rules are very reasonable and easy to follow; the only thing limiting your play style is your imagination. Can t decide which play style you want? You can create multiple accounts (referred to as multis) and play each of them differently. There is no limit to how many accounts you can have, so long as you don t abuse them.

The administrator seems pretty down to earth and always willing to listen to the players (he frequents the game s chat room and forums and players can email support if they have problems). Players have been heard saying that he s not just some businessman looking to rake in cash; he s there for the community and is all about the players. There have been numerous player sponsored code changes in the past and there will likely be more in the future. There are also plans for 2 new servers to give the players even more fun (a beta server to get a glimpse of possible upcoming code changes and a faster-paced server for the war mongers).

Even if you re not a big fan of text-based games, you should definitely give Aegis a try. Before Aegis, the only games that kept my interest for more than 5 minutes were console games ..that was 5 years ago and Aegis is still fun for me. There are numerous guides and many experienced players to help get you started and if you join a kingdom, they will protect you and send you resources to help you grow.

Aegis has had 2,000,000 users since it was created in 2004 and it won Virtual Reality Game of the Year in 2005.

Aegis is a text-based game, so the graphics rating doesn't really apply. The game does however, have some good images and page backgrounds, so I rated graphics a 10.
