“Very Very bad ”

I did bank transfer in error to my capital one account. The money have been transferred back to Virgin but they gone missing and now one from Virgin could find them! Every time I had to explain the whole situation even when I as transferred to different department during the same phone call! “Customer Relations?”

I wish I had looked here before investing my savings with these people. The customer service staff are clueless and have the art of polite unhelpfulness trained into them I think. They were fine - before I transferred my savings. After problems, I was given an email address to contact 'customer relations' which I think must be non-existent, they don't respond. “Frustrations galore”

I'm not sure where to begin. The opening process was challenging, but I thought at least they take security seriously. Unfortunately their processes don't seem to extend to carrying out customer instructions or, indeed, any instructions. My latest challenge has been the unauthorised closure of my ISA, on the basis that I had sent a letter with the word "closed" in it. Virgin money is the worst bank ever after sending in pension documents signed and dated by a viable post office person they decided that wasn't good enough as my person hadn't wrote post office on forms although She had provided contact details etc so I told them where to stick their pension all they were trying to verify is I wasn't some foreigner not paying tax and residing at the address stated what a joke hopefully I change jobs soon to be offered a decent pension scheme… Read Full Review

“refused to let me pay in cash ”

I went to chester branch to put £500 in CASH into my account with a debit card ,to cover a large bill and was told only take cheques, did not have cheque book with me , was told very sorry you can pay cash in at our liverpool branch , that is 25 miles away, or we can do it in JANUARY....... words fail me… Read Full Review

Totally disorganised! I have withdrawn all my savings and would recommend others to do the same. The online account system is a disgrace. Customer services is just a name only, the staff have not got a clue! My online account asked me for the same security questions each time i logged in! “Virgin media webpage just doesn't work.”

It's just impossible to contact Virgin on their webpage. I'm not a customer - nor would I be - my mother is having terrible trouble with her cable phone service. But I'm receiving bills for someone who does not even live here. I keep sending them back "no such person here" but still they send them. So now I'm trying to contact them online to stop them. Haven't got the time to waste in a phone queue. And like I say, the "contact us" screen doesn't work. Oh well, let them come round and find… Read Full Review

“Website very slow or doesn't work at all”

The Virgin Money website is really frustrating - its like not being able to get into the bank because you can't open the door! I type in my password to login, click 'sign on' and nothing happens! I keep trying and still nothing happens. Its really bad not to be able to access your online banking for no apparent reason. This has happened to me three times now. I signed up to this in good faith with an offer of a substantial chunk of cashback after 6 months. More than a year later I am still waiting and find that I'm not alone. I paid the full amount on-line but the payment was delayed 1 day. The late payment fee and interest accumulated to £39 and finally received a letter in the post. I used the on-line form to ask about this and the reply was that I should pay it off first to stop it and call the customer service for a refund. So I did. “Customer "Service"?????”

You phone a paid-for 0845 number and wait half an hour for an answer, listening to awful music which is interrupted every few seconds by a voice telling you how busy they are. Eventually someone answers and treats you with incredible rudeness and disdain. She as good as called me a liar because the information I provided - which is the only info I have and is printed on a letter from Virgin - apparently does not match the info she has in front of her. “Incompetence doesn't cover it.”

Do not use this if you are wanting to take out a mortgage. They arranged a mortgage with us three months ago. We are now at the stage of completion and they have withdrawn the offer realising they had not read the details well enough- we have had to start the process all over again with another company putting our purchase at risk. “sort online banking out and pin printer!”

I have been with Northern Rock forever and waited patiently for online banking. Then virgin took over. Always happy with everything but recently I locked myself out of my debit card and needed a new pin I am onto my 3 pin as you couldn't even read the others. They said it was change of printers well my God change your supplier ASAP! Hopefully my 3rd pin will be ok this has gone on forever now! Month and a bit! “Using Open Market Option to tansfer annuity”

I used the Open Market Option to get my annuity from another provider, and duly checked with Virgin if I needed to complete any forms. Clear answer was "No, it is all automated once the annuity provider contacts us". Rubbish. Virgin simply put every obstacle in the way to stop the money going out (£200,000) and I can only assume it is because I have not picked their "chosen provider". I opened an internet ISA with these clowns at the princly sum of 2.88% (woohoo) and that was quick and easy enough. Sure enough putting money in is all well and lovely too and its given me some interest, however... When I actually came to close the ISA this week the brown stuff hit the fan. It turned out I couldn't actually close it online like the options say you can, because they have a bug which requires you to do it over the phone.
