Good Points: Beautifully chromed die cast hoops, keeps the sound tight and focusedon all the toms and snare. Also makes for easy tuning. I can easilyfine tune the drums when I'm at each gig since the acoustics there don't always lend themselves to what sounds good at home.Sturdy hardware, also nicely chromed. Adjusting height and angles is smooth and quiet due to good quality spacers.Thicker shells means the toms project really well to audience withexcellent control of dynamics. Resonance is not convoluted like thinner shells - no wierd buzzing etc. when I tune them low.Superb workmanship - fit and finish is excellent.

Bad Points: Because of the thicker shells, 6 ply 7.5mm, and the heavy duty hardware, the kit gets a little heavy to pack down and load into the car after a long gig. But, with all the benefits of it's shell design, and the stability of the stands, I can live with that.No other bad points.

General comments: 20", 10", 12", 14". Master Custom 14" x 6.5" snare.I really like how this kit projects. The toms are loud and yet can beplayed quietly. This allows me to play with a lot of musical sensitivity.Suitable for a wide variety of music.I play in a dance band so whether it's waltzes or polkas. Rock to pop and blues, it does it all.Fit and finish of the shells are superb as it the Pewter Glass finish andthe heaviiy chromed hardware. I bought the series 900 hardware.Sturdy, smooth adjusting and quiet. The whole band loves this kit, because they can hear the kit very clearly through the mix on stage. I am not mic'd so, this is important. The toms, while having a nice tone with good sustain, has good control so that the resonance doesn't get out of hand and muddies up the mid band frequencies. This allows the kit to remain articulate even at high dynamic levels and the sound gets to the audience really well. I can see their reactions and I feel really good about that.I'm looking forward to playing some jazz with some friends. For thatI will tune the toms up and again, it's really easy to do. The sound is consistently tight and focused up or down. Great stuff. The Pewter Glass finish is really nice to look at on stage. Being a home recording hobbyist for some 33 years, this kit has really delivered on what kind of sound I'm looking for.
