The Epiphone Les Paul Special II is mostly excellent but some slapdash sharp frets, buzzin strings (low e and a ) after you've reduced the tune o matic bridge. The screws for neck(4) appear to be power-tooled in at 95 degrees, not the usual 90, and the truss rod cover, same, goes for the positioning of the pickup socket-not central again. Ive loosened the truss rod 2 inches at the end of the allen key and this has improved it, next will be the nut height. This guitar wouldn't suit anyone that's not confident with diy, tools, and would set you on a new learning curve, google, youtube etc for the solutions, or just shell out to have it setup by an expert.
Summing up: £109 's worth of retail therapy, cant play a damn, but i like it, and its only rock n roll and its in vintage sunburst. Now how do i get to Carnegie Hall?

Would not hold tune. The machine heads were loose and what was so bad was I had just had taken it out of the box. I had to take it back for a refund . I think they could do better....
