If you look on La caf's website they say this La Cafetiere LC-BG1 Electric Burr Grinder is ideal for french press(cafetiere). And it is, as well as being the cheapest burr grinder in the land. The starting point for an espresso grinder is £150.

I bought the La Cafetiere electric burr grinder to grind beans for my espresso machine. Unfortunately even on the finest setting I didn't think the grind was fine enough for the machine. The bottom grind plate is fixed in place, and the top adjustable grind plate is easily removed. I find this makes cleaning the bottom grind plate quite fiddly. Mine easily becomes clogged up and decreases the fineness of the grind. After every grind I used a bottle brush to clean it all out. It's a shame La... (read more)
