“Incredibly disorganised company”

I recently bought a kitchen from Homebase. The units themselves turned out to be fine - a normal mid-price range kitchen that the builder found easy to install. There's not much between Wickes, Howdens, Homebase, Ikea, etc. in this respect. Homebase, however, distinguished itself in other respects. First of all, there's a 4-6 week lead time on kitchens. “Staff uniform”

How can anyone looking to spend 10k or more on a kitchen take the staff seriously and professionally when their uniform is a reflection on what you might expect to receive when your kitchen arrives . Grown men wearing aprons as if there about to go and mix paint or do diy absolute unprofessional welcome . What's that got to do with the kitchen quality? This review is of no use whatsoever.

Even if the content was relevant, I would be reluctant to accept advice from someone who uses incorrect spelling and grammar when complaining about the appearance and professionalism of others.

From beginning to end our dealings with Homebase and our fitted Kitchen have been excellent and very professional. It was designed to our specifications by a helpful lady in store. We were booked in for the fitting for approx. 4 days and all was done in the allotted time by the 3 chaps employed to carry out the work. Ordered a Hygena kitchen from Homebase,Purley Way on 3 August.Design ordering & original delivery process great. Was ready to provide a 5* review. Sadly it all then went horribly wrong! Delivery arrived 8 Sept but discovered store ordered wrong corner cabinet & dwasher door.Took 3 days to get things moving-no response to original call to Hbase. “Homebase kitchen - avoid”

We ordered simple 2m x 3m galley kitchen 6 weeks ago. We did not get any updates about it so we went into our local Homebase. We were told that there is a problem with our order and there will be delay with delivery. Homebase need another 3 to 6 weeks to complete. It means that Homebase needs 12 weeks to make a simple kitchen! Not acceptable as we can't live without kitchen for 6 weeks! We have a 18 months old baby. 2 weeks ago my husband and i went into the homebase store in Northants to book for a survey on our planned new kitchen. It was all booked for today for the survey at 11.30am and for us to review the design instore on Wednesday. “Still waiting for draw fronts”

My 84 year old mother bought and paid in full for a kitchen from Homebase. It arrived and was fitted minus 8 draw fronts. She has been told she must wait at least 4 weeks for further supplies of these items. In the mean time she has half her kitchen equipment in a large box. “HOMEBASE Kitchen Nightmare -Not a dream kitchen.”

The kitchen fitting industry-a virus that governs itself and relies on what it can get away with. “Worst experience of my life”

We purchased a rather expensive Nobila kitchen from them in the 'so called January sale' which is their most expensive range. Had a kitchen fitted in may with loads of scratched doors and poorly fitted carcass. Had spare doors delivered at end may to be fixed and took 2 months of calling every other day to get them replaced. Turned out one of the delivered doors was smashed so had to order another one. Now aug and had one door out of 2 sets of doors delivered and waiting 3 weeks (now) to call because they can't be bothered to contact and they still have not called. Right from start kitchen designer at Greenock shop was magic.at least 3 different designs were done before I decided. Nothing was a bother. dAte given for delivery arrived. We had a new kitchen installed about three weeks ago & i am really pleased with it .The kitchen fitter was excellent he put sheets down over my carpets & tidied up each day before he left he was really easy to get on with and the most tidiest of workman that i have ever had .We did spend much more than we intended on the kitchen but the results are worth it i especialy like my work tops quartz with a sparkle in it .All in all the service we recieved was excellent… Read Full Review

Don't bother from here. Firstly getting an appointment was a mission they said they'll get back to you within 48 hours, they don't. Second time round I managed to get an appointment. I went into store 15 minutes early before the appointment to discuss a new kitchen he was sitting there talking to another member of staff so I thought I can see him early. “Is this the beginning of a nightmare”

We were told by more than one person not to order a kitchen from Homebase. Would we listen, no. Should we have listened, yes. Six weeks ago the kitchen units and ancillary items were ordered. Two weeks ago Homebase telephoned repeatedly to confirm the delivery date. Two days before the delivery date a I had a call from them. Well what do you know. No damage or bits missing.
Good quality units. 4 out of 5 stars. Would be 5 if thry hadn't messed up the hob fan order. Generally well pleased.

We had ordered our kitchen last July. The first fitter had stopped doing kitchens for Homebase. The new ones never finished the job leaving a few bits to be sorted. Eventually Homebase got someone else to finish off.
The levels of the base units is higher on one side than the other.
The worst part was that Homebase got us to enter into an agreement with Barclays Bank who paid Homebase on delivery and under the agreement we will have to start paying back on a monthly basis over a year.

You need to check your agreement and if any queries, contact Barclays. Finance companies do pay out on delivery of goods, or on receipt of completion notice if fitted, depending on wording of the agreement. This is normal practice. Homebase agreements generally fall into one of two categories...normal finance where you start paying monthly, first payment one month or so after delivery, normally paid over 3,4 0r 5 years. Lower interest rates. Second deal is pay monthly over five years, with payment holiday of a year at the start. If fully paid in that year, only additional payment is £29 admin fee. Some folks mistakenly call this type of agreement an interest free option. Usually higher interest than original normal finance. Hope this helps.

Sales people fine Product ok Fitting ok Problem sink too small loads if hassle waitined 4 months approx they replaced the sink. Now the sink gurgles for an hour after dishwasher or if water goes down the sink now I've got to send for them agsin. Homebase staff CANNOT inflate the prices. The prices on the computer are fixed. Yes, they are on commission, just like every other big-ticket salesman. Different worktops from different suppliers will be different prices. Qualities will be different as well. There are dearer and cheaper alternatives in every product. 27mm should be stated somewhere on paperwork? Taps should have been easy solution for in branch staff. Belfast sink parts were ther, so no complaint.
