I have the VIP package and i think the broadband is absolutely spot on, cant complain at all with the service would recommend to anyone!! (read more)

When I moved to the Location I sm at now and got told there was fiber optic broadband available i jumped straight on board. What can i say the speeds are Fantastic and you can notice the great speed when playing online games via PS3, there is no caps after certain times unlike some Isp. My bill is great to as I have 2x smallworld Hd Boxes which both have the full packages Inc Sky f1 which is most for me too i also have 2 modems one downstairs at 10Mb and one upstairs at 60Mb upstairs all for... Had some performance issues with Sky so thought about switching to Smallworld. I got a flyer from them with prices etc so rang the number. Put on hold for ages eventually got through left a ring back message but noone rang back. Rang a couple times again with same result. On that basis they seem pretty useless so wont be switching to them. (read more)

Very poor quality and very poor customer service. Cheap and nasty! I have been paying approx £75 per month and for that I get the following: A movies package with 90% of the movie channels not working (except TCM and Film 4 which I can get on free view anyway. Picture break up on numerous other HD channels (I am paying extra for the HD pack). None existant customer service (ignored 4 e-mails re the movie package issue). Installation was a farce due to them not doing a site survey first. 2 failed attempts on seperate days. Had to lose 3 days holiday from work to accomodate them. Their new Topfield box is poor to navigate, with a really old user interface thats not particularly intuitive. The remote control is very badly laid out too, and feels like a cheap kids toy. Customer for a year and shocking customer service. When it worked it was fine, but box kept crashing and telephone support couldn't resolve it. Lost two days holiday on separate occasions waiting for engineer to call for prearranged appointments only for them to fail to turn up. Gave notice of cancellation in August and it has been a nightmare. Expected me to take another days leave so engineer could call to collect equipment and again they didn't turn up. Swithced from Sky due to poor service. Sky are AWESOME by comparrison (something I never thought I would say!). Box doesnt work, misses channels, doesnt record, drops nearly 100 channels for weeks at a time. When you call up customer service they really excell at being bum holes! Told someone would get back to me, never happens, manager doesnt get back, mis advised. Had to threaten with trading standards and still never sorted. Changed from Sky to Smallworld due to poor customer service, what a mistake Smallworld are far far worse! I have smallworld and pay £70 per month so its actually more expensive than Sky and have had the following problems on a regular basis. 1. Doesnt record as its supposed to do (misses programmes, poor pixilated picture quality, cant always fat forward etc) 2. Well i dont understand the other person that says it is slow, i am downloading 10 times faster than what i did with sky. The customer service is fine, the prices are better thank sky. The only thing that sky is better at is the TV, small world is not as organisedbut it still has the same basic channels. Overall i would say that small world is far better than sky. (read more)

Avoid at all costs. Don't be taken in by it's "cheap" packages. It's SO awful. 50% of the time their internet is not working, the other 50% of the time is so stupidly slow. I think I've only actually had decent speed maybe 2-3 times out of a month. I never get close to the speed I pay for. Their customer service is truly awful, their advice with any problem seems to be "Turn it off and on again, oh that doesn't work? We'll get back to you" They never will. New cables free of hiss like our old BT connection. Been with them for around three years and have no problems. they answer immediatley one phones. I could never get through to BT. The girls are polite but don't seem to know much about their subject, but you can speak to an IT person if you want. Smallworld give good value for money on their low end packages. If you want high Defiinition TV, you'd be better off wit Sky although it costs a lot more. (read more)

My telephone line was cut off for a few days, then they changed their broadband config and I was cut off for another two weeks. Varing levels of skill amongst their engineers - some very good, others I've had to stop from 'troubleshooting' my computer in the past because they were wrecking it. Utterly useless customer service who are rude and incompetent at times in my opinion.
Absolute nightmare to try and leave this company; refusal to allow telephone number transfer, extra charges etc. If...

Recently I left SmallWorld to take up Sky. Miles, Miles better. We gave Small Mind, our nickname for them, the required 30 days notice. They arranged to get the kit and did not turn up. Turned up a week later. We agreed we'd cancel DD and they would invoice. Never did and sent us threatening letter. Rang each time to be told would sort out, never did just stated they would reduce services - bearing in mind they'd already taken the kit it shows you just how capable they are. Rang and... As a result of moving house I have changed from Virgin to Smallworld. Virgin was faster - for the same claimed speed of broadband; its TV service was far superior and the V+ box is better than Smallworld's PVR. Not a surprise really; the installing technician told me I would be dissapointed!
...and finally, my web searches and email handling (outlook) have been comprimised by the installation. I now get some wierd search/find activity, as a default, that locks up the PC.
