Thomas Cook credit cards, don't touch them. I had a call saying someone had tried to use my wifes card in an ATM. They said they had stopped it and no transaction took place. When the statement came the had taken £90. Had another call telling me that a merchant had got my credit card details fraudulently. They told me they had been tracking it for two weeks. Two weeks but no one thought to ring us and stop the card until two weeks later.Their security is rubbish as is the customer services and the fraud department. Staff have a very bad attitude towards their customers. Unless you want endless trouble, don't get a Thomas Cook Credit card. Any credit card linked to Barclays will never be any good.

Took the card out to pay for holiday on IFC as a 'perk'. Ha! Ha! Ha! The trouble started when just off to bed night before holiday when the payments line called (21:10) asking why we had missed the first payment when all along the DD had been setup and they hadnt called for it. To help them I made a payment over the phone. This was then repeated on the 2nd payment, late charges were added, then taken off/added several times. Then interest added even though IFC, this was because of late payments, ...

Thomas Cook Credit Card is the worst card ever!!!!!!!! Stung for interest on full amount of holiday despite paying off half of the balance. Then, while on holiday the invoice arrived and payment due before our return... again stung for late payment fee. Be careful you only get a few days to pay! Customer service department didnt show any empathy at all and I feel very disappointed, in the way we have been treated.

Was advised by the Thos Cook rep on the phone to take one out to pay for balance of our holiday.
Can't get a payment date to suit us - i.e. to pay at the end of the month when salary is paid in and be paid to them by the 10th say.
Also, from receipt of bill to payment date is only 10 days!!! We were stung for £12 late payment fee and £8.98 in interest last month, as it arrived when we were away on holiday.
Tried to log on this evening to email them, only to find there is NO way ...

Like many others here I took out the Thomas Cook card to pay for my holiday and take advantage of the 3 month interest free period. Also like many others I got stung for interest, despite paying the balance in full for the last statement prior to the interest free period running out. Complaints to customer services fell on deaf ears and got same 'explanation' that this was interest from when IFP ran out, until payment received. This despite the T's & C's on the back of the statement saying: "You ...

Like previous reviews, took out a thomas cook credit card to avoid charges when paying for holiday. Later tried to purchase currency for holiday using Thomas Cook visa card, they would not accept this without proof of ID i.e passport etc. Had to pay by cash, needles to say was not given the best rate. This is despite the fact I am known in the branch, and had booked the holiday throgh them. I will not be using this card abroad for fear of rejection.

Worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. In October I started receving calls from a Basildon phone number, most of the 'silent' variety but eventually when I got to speak to someone they were calling from Thomas Cook Credit card demanding a late payment. Pay by direct debit and no payment missed so questioned call then the abuse started. A company called First Data handles the 'customer service' for Thomas Cook and over the next two days I received a total of 28 calls from them ...

Customer service is disgusting! It seems Thomas Cook Credit Card make the rules up as they go! I wouldn't bother applying for one of these, but rather get one from your bank. It's been nothing but agro and I really wish I hadn't taken my first credit card out with them! I was told I could make a payment every friday, but now they are saying I can only making 2 payments in a thirty day period, I assume this is so they can make more money from me!

As soon as it's been paid off i'll be destroy ...

Once this was a good card with poor customer service and frequent administrative errors. Now it is a bad card with bad customer service and won't admit to errors!

Paid my last bill, in full , days before the due date.

They charged me 12 pounds because the direct debit for the minimum payment had been returned unpaid even though I had already paid the full balance on time.

I called customer services (unhelpful lot) an explained I had cancelled the direct debit mandate months earlier and had c ...

I've also had a similar bad experience with Thomas Cook Credit Card. I too took it out to pay for my holiday to avoid the hefty credit card fee they would charge using any other credit cards but there's.

The card wasn't authorised there and then in the shop and I paid a deposit for the holiday via a debit card. Months later I got the final holiday bill and I paid the holiday off in full once I got the statement. However because the 3 month interest free period had finished, I was charged i ...

Thomas Cook credit card - absolutely discusting customer service. Charged me £28 interest on a Thomas Cook holiday payment. My previous bill balance was zero and when I received my next statement it had my holiday payment transaction plus a £28 interst charge. I queried it and said how can you charge me interest before you send me the bill. They said its in the new terms and conditions from April 09. I complained and got no where. I've got a Barclaycard and never had any interest cha ...

I have the same issue as another reviewer. Thomas Cook Credit Card charged me £28 interest on a Thomas Cook holiday transaction of £3500 before i even got the bill to pay. When i received the bill I queried the £28 with customer services and even complained but it did me no good at all. I couldn't believe when they said my interest free period had ran out and they started charging me interest. I was a new customer and thought by clearing the balance off each month i wouldn't ...

My Thomas Cook Credit Card statement goes to the 19th of the month and I will usually receive this by about the 25th of the month but today (20th) they have phoned me and told me they have put a block on my account until I make a payment even though I have not yet received my statement and I will not pay anything before reviewing my statement. And if I make the minimum payment over the phone and then pay the balance off when I receive the statement they won't let me pay next months credit card ...

I strongly recommend anyone who wishes to take out a Thomas Cook Credit card not to bother. I have never received such a disgusting service and unless you pay monthly be direct debit it is impossible to pay in time.

Your statement wont arrive before 11th of the month and your payment is supposed to have cleared by the 19th. They ask for 7 clear working days to pay by cheque which is an impossibility so why offer the option?!

The interest starts mid month from Thomas Cook Credit Card, although you arent requested to pay unitl the end of the month - therefore, every month you pay some interest, even if you clear the card.
Customer services are horrendous, i have regularly waited on hold for over 20minutes to speak to some unhelpful member of staff.
They tell you its easy to redeeem the points - I am still attempting to do this!! I have no luck when phoning htem as they never answer the phone never again!

I applied and received for a Thomas Cook credit card prior to our overseas holiday in Hong Kong - attracted by commission free purchases and earning of points. While it worked well in the UK, it would not work at any shop when we arrived overseas. We made an expensive call to support in the UK - the error code was described as unknown and we were promised a call back, which did not happen. We then submitted a message online, again no reply.
Luckily for us we had another credit card as backup, wh ...

I have had the Thomas Cook Credit Card for about 9 months and have earned travel points which will come useful as I ' ve planned a holiday to Florida in July 09. All of a sudden I received a letter telling me the credit limit of my card was reduced from £2000 to £1100. No explanation was given and it would take effect immediately. I was very angry as although I was running bills over £1000 each month I was clearing the full amount as I did not want to pay interest. My circum ...

I'm away to get some foreign exchange to the amount of £3000 for this holiday and I will get another 2% cashback which means in all for this one holiday alone I've saved £110 for just using the card SUPERB! When your abroad there is no overseas charge when you purchase ie perfume etc which normal bank account charges on most banks, I also get 1% on all purchases here in the uk.
Overall delighted with my Thomas Cook Credit Card!
