First the bad bits- car hire firm, Dollar, were very inefficient, it took nearly 2 hours to get car after arriving in their office, this is unacceptable, I will never use a tour involving Dollar again. The hotel was clean and comfortable with friendly staff and a very attentive manager, and the restaurants (which did have a bird problem) served delicious local food. There were only about 15 people staying when we went so no fighting for sun loungers! The beach was beautiful and we could snorkel at one end where it is sheltered from the waves. Canadian Rockies self drive let down. After a nine and a half hour flight an hour getting through customs and then trying to get out of the airport because of major external works, the last thing you need is lousy instructions as to getting to your first night lodgings. Brewsters sent us sixteen miles out of our way to a place called Kananaskis Village. We booked KC Resort & Over Water Villas in Koh Samui with them, this resort was suggested to us by one of their staff and assured us the accommodation was a water villa, admittedly our paperwork said "De Luxe Jacuzzi Suite" at KC resort, I asked was this a hotel and was assured that 'no it's just water villas'. Since the first dat of booking with Tropiocal Sky I have had nothing but problems with flight changes, five times before I even left the country. I had arranged hotel stays before leaving and had to cancel these due to again flight changes. It was so good to go back to Crystal Cove where we had enjoyed a lovely holiday last year. It is such a pretty place. I love Reflections restaurant especially at night with the lights twinkling on the water. The whole site is most attractive with immaculate gardens leading to the beach. We had stayed at this resort some twelve years ago and having been told it was newly refurbished we expected more, the accommodation was recently painted but apart from that it was very tired, curtains hanging off, bath very marked, sink leaking, light bulbs not working, but worst of all was the fact that the patio doors did not secure properly. Excellent value for money. The three bookable restaurants serve excellent food, as does the buffet restaurant but this tends to be very busy and noisy which doesn't make for a relaxing meal.
