Similar story to other reviewers' experiences with this firm. From Australia, mid-March 2013, hired a car for mid-April pick-up in Los Angeles... booking paid in full and confirmed. One day before pick-up we received an e-mail cancelling the contract, and advising that our money would be refunded in full within 10 days. Five weeks later... still no refund. Have sent 3 e-mails to FastCarHire... still no response. Have now referred this to the Fraud area at Visa. (read more)

I tried to rent a car about 4 months before my vacation. I reserved a car on the webpage and it would take fast carhire about 2 weeks to try to get the payment process done (e.g. use my credit card details to book it locally) in the first attempt the money could apparently not be transferred. Although I reacted fast I received an automated response that it would take another 2 weeks to process my reservation. Paid over £600 for "meet and greet" from "Thai rent"at Bangkok airport - nobody arrived. I had to get phone number of car company to chase and eventually brought a 50,000km grubby 4x4 with marks all over body and wheels. Returned day car early as didn't trust them to be at airport to receive prior to flight. T&C's were changed and I would have to claim back any excesses via FastCar hire FASTCarhire do not have a contact number and therefore no realtime customer support during hire period... (read more)

We had no problems with booking our car hire but it seems that cheapest is not always cheapest once you arrive at the car hire desk. It's very difficult to get an ACTUAL cost when you book which includes fuel charge, compulsory insurance etc. This is not just a Fast Car Hire issue, it seems to be across the board. It's a bit of a guessing game when it comes to price. I also don't like the full fuel tank, bring back empty rule when you are only hiring for a few days. The car was fine... (read more)

Great service! Good price. When we got to the airport the car we had hired had been involved in an accident. I thought oh no! But they gave us an equally good car that was nearly new. Cancelled my rental 1 day before allthough fully paid. Promised a refund within 5-10 days but still waiting after more than three weeks. They also do not respond to any communication. Seems like many customers have had similar experiences. This company is rubbish and must be stopped and prosecuted!!!! (read more)

We booked and paid 6 months in advanced for our car and they cancelled it, with 48 hours notice, saying there was fleet issues so we were stranded with no car in a foreign country! So far a month later we have still received no refund for our money! They don't seem to respond to our emails except to say contact Paypal for a refund, however Paypal won't refund once 45 days has passed! They are a very bad company who you should not trust! Fastcarhire web site was clear and easy to use with no hidden costs. Car arranged in England for hire in Thailand. The car was exactly what I asked for, delivered to hotel: clean, mechanically sound and on time. The hire company representative spoke good English and was very accommodating with drop off arrangements. There was no pressure to purchase 'extra' insurance and there was no 'damage' when the car was returned. Also, Fastcarhire's price was the best I could find. Total satisfaction. (read more)

I have used Fast car Hire on numerous occasions and they always provide great service. The website is easy to use and the company operates well with their car providers in Thailand. I hired a car with Hertz in March 2013. The original car was supposed to be Toyota Vios but they had upgraded the car to Toyota Altis due to the shortage of small cars. Easy access from airport to just outside to pick up car hire. Car was clean and the whole process to collecting car took no more than 15 minutes. We had trouble free motoring for the whole 2 weeks of our holiday. Although we had to alter our time to return the car at the end of our holiday (our choice) this caused no problems. Booked a Hertz car through FastCarHire, in Thailand. I ordered delivery and collect service, car was delivered promptly and collected when booked. The car was nearly new, 6500kms, and having driven over 3500kms in it was really happy. The only problem was the SAT Nav, the mount was damaged and had been taped up by Hertz, so when I was driving it gave the impression that it was going to fall off the screen. Short-break car hire to drive ourselves out of Bangkok for a few days was accomplished with ease. Booking process was simple. The car was delivered on time to our condominium (which is not an easy place for the uninitiated to find) and collected on time at the end of the hire. The car was clean and what we'd ordered. I enjoyed using their sevice very much. I booked a car in Hertz, and compared the prices and conditions on Fastcarhire and Hertz websites. I realised that I'll get the same car on Fastcarhire but at smaller price, also with zero insurance limit (I pay nothing in case of incident), and deposit 3 times smaller. Telephone calls and email messages are left unanswered, and the physical address indicated on the website does not appear to exist. Get off the plane and hire your car (Rodervante)in the airport. Very pleasant helpful staff. The deposit taken (should you have an accident) is too much and should be reviewed to a smaller amount. Make sure you inspect car with staff member and check fuel gauge, you have to bring back with same capacity. I agree, the thing is we hired 3 times from them while on our 'holiday' and they stole the biggest amount we had pre-paid to them! They tried to tell me to claim off our credit card instead of them but I paid by paypal which was a direct debit from my bank account! It's so bad that they can just think that we can get our money back off someone else and they can keep it! I've searched online and there's so many people this has happened to - I'd hate for it to happen to other people and that's why I'm posting these reviews wherever I can - it certainly puts a damper on your holiday when things like this happen! I will be contacting the Consumer Affairs in UK and seeing what they can do to stop this happening!
