After reading reviews i was expecting the process to be painful. However hiper to do exactly what i expected. As it was clearly stated in the Terms and Conditions (which were not very long) and re-confirmed by the confirmation email, if you want to pick up/drop off the car between 10:30pm and 8am, you will be charged 30euro. I was suitably concerned about renting a car on our recent trip to Ibiza and I spent sometime researching the many different options. I found that reviews for most of the UK brokers were all pretty bad. In the end we opted for Holiday-Rentals who use Hiper Car Rental in Ibiza. The reason I went for this option was that Holiday Rentals offered a free additional driver and it said that Hiper Rentals fuel policy was that as long as the rental was less than 6 days, ours was 5, you could collect... First of all they lied on how far it is from the airport in Palma de Malorka to their hire center. They said it was 1 km and in fact it is about 10!! Thankfully they provided the van. Secondly we were forced to wait for OVER TWO HOURS to get the car although there was ONLY FOUR other people before us. Reading the bad review we were afraid of having booked via hyper rent. But it turned out to be a reliant car rental. Arriving at the airport we immediately saw the yellow transfer bus in the back right corner at the arrival parking. I went to Mallorca in June of 2012 with family. We stayed in Sa Coma and before going booked a car through Thomson Holidays for four days to be picked up(and returned)at Hiper branch in Cala Millor. Hence no experience of the airport shuttle. Nor was there a problem with fuel as rentals of less then 7 days are on a full tank pick-up, full tank return. Very disappointing experience. 1) Fuel policy is a rip off. I hired an Astra and was charged 94Euros for them to alledgely fill the tank. I probably used half a tank and because their fuel policy wont provide refunds I lost out and the next customer paid even more Euros per litre. It's simply adding huge profits onto their bottom line. 2) Their staff were appaling. Rude and confrontational staff in the hire centre and the same for the bus driver back to the airport. Two things to watch for 1)shuttle is required between airport and car pick-up/drop-off. Had to wait 15 minutes in minibus each way. 2)77 euro fuel charge for smallest class vehicle and bring back empty. How do you travel 500m in one week in Majorca? After reading all of the negative reviews on here we were very skeptical about what to expect. We arrived at the airport and had to wait 5 minutes to be taken to the Hiper offices (5 min drive max) where we signed all the relevant paperwork etc etc. The car had a full tank of fuel which you pay for on arrival. Kept waiting at Airport for 10 minutes then for 2 hours to get a car out. Appalling customer service. Car had lots of damage which we had to point out - they didn't. Fuel cost about 70 euros - they say take it back empty but you can't so it's another way to get money off you. They virtually insist that you take out extra insurance to cover glass breakage - another 15 euros. I would never use these again and advise anyone to reconsider and spend a bit more initially. No indication of where to go to collect car - it wasn't clear that we'd need to get on a shuttle bus. When we collected the car we had to pay 71 Euros for fuel and were told to bring the car back with an empty tank. This is impossible in a week on a small island so they are profiting on every car. Hired an Opel Corsa for two days at a reasonable price (118 Euros). After loading it up with bags and stuff drove off and within about a mile realised it was misfiring badly whenever acceleration was needed and the engine warning light was permanently on. The car clearly hadn't been checked before rental or, if it had, they didn't care. Took it back to the office and got a replacement that was very old, very battered and didn't even have hub caps. Never felt compelled to write any review before but I had a really bad and costly experience with this one and if I was not an experienced traveller it might have been very distressing. I hired a car through the internet (from Denmark). Pick up Palma Airport - delived back Palma Airport. When I arrived at Santa Ponta I found out that Hiper Care has an office in Santa Ponta. I was to pick up the car in the airport, but thought that maybe I could pick up a car in Santa Ponta instead, and save the trip to the airport or the office in Palma. At Palma airport the Hiper rep was easy to find, he was pleasant and very helpful.We only waited 10 mins before the transfer to the Car hire office a few minutes away. Booked with Holiday Autos so you dont know who you are getting the car off till you get pickup voucher I hired. A small car with aircon, end up once with Fiat Panda, Corsa, KA and Seat Leon to name a few and this time a Punto which I had to take back next day as it developed a fault that concerned me, so HIPER changed it with no fuss for a Fiat Doblo People carrier as they had no small cars, not much difference but no extra charge so was happy, also HA charge a excess waiver at about £35... Rented an Opel Corsa for one day at the end of our holiday to explore Mallorca a little more and Hiper Rentacar was the cheapest on offer. I was a little dubious after reading other peoples' reviews, but was pleasantly surprised by a well run operation. The staff were friendly, efficient and spoke excellent English. £50.00 for a tank of fuel on a Skoda that does over 40mpg, range of over 600kms on an island 20k long!!!!
RIP off merchants do not use they let you pay for someone elses fuel or there XMAS party.
Car looked like it came from a Dukes of Hazzard practice session.
I tried to drive for 7 days in 3rd gear to use my fuel but i got bored & could only muster 300kms.
hope you enjoy my fuel i paid for....

This company is so bad that it became funny.
The car we received was a Fiat Punto which was scratched to high heaven with dents and bumps. The rear doors didnt work and no staff member was interested in helping. The response we got back was - you ordered the car so you got the car.
They will also fleece you when they charge you for fuel - £50 to fill a 1.3 Punto diesel car. Now I have travelled to a number of countries but I have never known it to cost £50 to fill a 1.3 diesel!!!

Original quote reasonable but the 70 plus euros for fuel made it the most expensive and car was beat up old skoda. Driver who picked us up from Airport very friendly however the one who dropped us off was rude and ws on his mobile phone for entire journey. Would not use them again and would definaley not recommend them. We tried to complain to Car Trawler but they we worse than useless. Booked car hire through holiday autos. Hiper rent a car is a short journey by transfer coach which was waiting at the airport. We were served very quickly on arrival at rental office but had to pay a further 77 Euros for fuel making it a very expensive rental. Condition of car externally was very poor but thankfully all noted on the contract, windscreen wiper blades next to useless as perished. I saw other peoples reviews, but assumed they were just unlucky, arrived at the airport and started waiting, didnt understand why Hiper Car Hire gave us a raffle ticket at the airport - thats your position in the queue! having waited in the airport the bus took us (only us) to the offsite location. Contract asked us to return the car with a full tank of fuel to get our fuel deposit back. Deposit refused by Hiper. Apparantly, they gave us the "old contract". Ended up paying twice for fuel!!!

Though this company is cheap in my opinion you get almost no insurance cover. You have to pay for broken windows, punctures, new tyres, towing in case of breakdown, damage to the bottom of the car (very likely in Majorca), lost keys, CD/radio damage, theft or loss of any car part, (All other rental companies cover these with their fully comprehensive policy)

I would highly recommend Hiper!!
The car was the one thing myself and my partner were a bit worried about in relation to our holiday as we were travelling with two friends and their 5 month old daughter and after booking with Hiper via Holiday Autos, I'd read some awful reviews so was dreading picking the car up in case it was too small or was in a bad state, which some people had said their cars had been.
In actual fact we needn't have worried at all. The chap was waiting to pick us up...
