Good Points: Excellent finishings.
Bad Points: Price.
General comments: I was all set to buy a house in a new development, but pulled out due to Lomond Homes increasing the original price of the build. Friends secured the same house in phase 1 and paid a fair price. We noted interest in the second phase, which just so happened would be two doors away from our friends when the estate was finished. However, the houses in phase 2 had a price increase of £6000, thus rendering us financially unable to purchase.
We had noted a strong interest in buying and Lomond was prepared to build our house early due to our eagerness to purchase. We had everything in place from having our own home valued, securing a mortgage promise and having all our finances in order, only for Lomond to increase their price and thus making all our financial workings out useless.
Even in the recent climate of financial uncertainty we find the whole situation absolutely bewildering. However even if the economy was booming we would still come to the same decision.
