It is cheaper and more reliable.We were left stranded on our return journey so rather than miss our flight we took a taxi from the rank outside the hotel and found not only is it cheaper on the taxi meter but it could save you hundreds of pounds rebooking tickets when holidaytaxis.com leave you sitting outside the hotel for hour after hour. We booked a private car transfer from Tenerife airport on Fri 22/02/2013 and paid in advance. On arrival at the airport the agent was not expecting us until the next day!! They said they would get us transport asap. Approx 60 mins later a mini bus came and took us to our villa. The return journey was worse. We had the unfortunate experience of booking a transfer with Holiday Taxis on our trip to Tunisia. When we arrived in Tunisia. There was nobody with a name board and eventually we were told to go outside the terminal and wait. Everyone stood around, not knowing what was happening. No organisation whatsoever, no control at the airport, and guess what ??. No taxis. We had to virtually harrass there rep to get taxis into the airport. We arrived in Tenerife and did not have a problem with the transfer. . On our return we were sent a text message the day before we were due to be picked up saying we would be picked up at 1255. The service was fairly good from landing at the airport and being dropped off at the hotel, but unfortunately they forgot to turn up to take us back! I did ring to confirm, but in the end we had to get a taxi. Stupid me, this is the second time this has happened. I gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time since there was some confusion over the pick up time, but obviously I was wrong to do this. We used Holiday Taxis from the Travel Republic website. Our pickup was meant to be 21:55 on 05/10/2012 from Marmaris, Turkey. Upon our hotel manager giving them a call, the guy on the other end of the phone informed him they were not picking any Holiday Taxis customers up. Last year we used “Holiday Taxis” for a visit to Thailand where the contracted taxi company in Asia wrongly took our information and proceeded to hassle us at our hotel. This company failed to send our taxi transfer on time to get us from our hotel in Icmelar, Turkey to Dalaman airport. The result? My husband, son and I missed our flight home. We've had some shocking transfers in our time when me and my sister go travelling every year, but nice to have found a reliable company who don't leave you waiting at the airport for 4 hours or turn up with some dodgy driver. I feel sorry for the people who had the bad Palma driver because when we went in the summer, we had a great time. I mean, the driver picked us up on time, we didn't have to wait and it was all good. I'm reaclly chocked that they had such a rough time of it because ours even cracked jokes! We used another company last year on our holliday and they were rubbish! left us at the hotel on the way back and we almost missed our flight, which was stressful with two kids. Booked with this one though and they were good and met us at the desk, took our bags and everything. Driver was really nice and we wen straight there. Then on way back the driver was early and brought all our bags to the car again and we got to the airport early. Definitely use again and they are the best ones... (read more)

Wish I'd read your review before we booked. Same thing happened to us! No refund either!
