Good Points: -Cheap £20 from Argos -looks good -does what it needs to do -robust
Bad Points: -Bigger than i thought ( - 1 point) -Strap looks like the first thing to break (-1 point)
General comments: Bought the Timex Ironman Shock watch today, just wanting a cheap robust watch i didn't have to worry about breaking, couldn't find much info on it at all so i thought i share my views. Start off with dimensions, its 44x50x12mm plus a little thicker where the two front buttons stick out.
It has a nice display which when light reflects off, the background shines green. Also it has a illuminator which lights the background blue/green. Its functions include a stop watch/chrono which counts to 2 decimal places (ie 1.88 seconds), it also has a timer and alarm and thats it.
Pretty straight forward to set, no problems there. it looks nice and robust, obviously, as its said to be 'shock proof' and apparently water resistant to 200m.
The strap is a little disapointing but works, its just a 25mm wide velcro strap but is quite comfortable and of course you can adjust it very easily without fiddling with pins etc or being confined to set sizes. I do feel the strap is going to be the first thing to break, especially attached to a watch which is shock resistant, likely to be bought by people knocking it around like myself, however I think it will put up a fight.
At the end of the day its 20 quids worth of watch, for me its great, i'd be more than happy for it to last just 1 year and then get to choose another one although it will probably last much longer.
