I hired a Tom TOm from these guys only to find that i keeped trying to send me the wrong way, i then borrowed an identical one from a friend which worked first time great. however getting a refund seems imposible as they just keep trying to blame Tom Tom and are desperate to absolve themselve's from any responsibility not happy (read more)

This is the first time I've hired a sat nav, so had a few reservations as to how well the process would work and whether I'd receive the required sat nav. I have a sat nav covering Europe but needed to hire one for driving across the US. The cost of the hire was a lot cheaper than downloading the relevant maps for my own device and well worth the money. I'm normally a bit dubious of Sat Nav's being old school and preferring maps! I don't like the way people seem to be transfixed by the screen either, I've lost count how many times I've been cut up on my motorbike by a car driver as they veered across a lane whilst gawping at the screen. I highly recommend this service to everyone, especially for the people who will rent a car there. We reserved a Tom tom from USA (before visiting UK), when we found out the rental car company charges an outrageous price for an optional Sat Nav rental. 12 days rental fee from this company was cheaper than one day rental from the rental car company. From start to finish the whole process was simple & effective. The delivery/return service works well & having a Sat Nav when visiting the USA is essential. The TomTom XL USA we had was excellent. Loath to spend money on a Sat Nav we would only use once, I thought there maybe a hire service we could use. I Googled Sat Nav hire and found this company. We needed to struggle from Vancouver International airport to Chilliwack among miles for roadworks and diversions. Avis wanted to charge $19 a day which I felt we could purchase one at this rate. I was going to the UK for 3 weeks holidays and I wanted a good Sat Nav. I didn't want to pay around 70 quid ($110 Aus) for the relevant maps for my Tom Tom Go. The rental car companys wanted anywhere from 6 to 14 quid per day (capped at 140 pounds max). This company offered a cheap and reliable alternative for about $2 per day. Hi, I have used this company time after time, I think this is my 4th or 5th rental from them. I just looked to book a rental or my trip to the US to find the costs per days have gone up a MASSIVE 65% in 12months!!!!! There are far cheaper places to rent from now! I've actually gone to the car rental company and got a deal with them for £28 - 50% cheaper the cheapsatnavhire.co.uk Sadly, i wont be using these guys again! (read more)

I have hired a TomTom 1 unit from this company for 2 weeks holiday in France and Spain.
Booking was easy and efficient, delivery very quick.
But not only did the unit repeatedly send us the wrong way, it also lost its position more and more as the days went by , especially when we needed it most, which is when exiting motorways. The journey back from northern Spain to London saw us relying only on our maps as the unit never found its position for more than a few minutes at a time, although...

I would have been very stressed on holiday without this sat nav from cheap sat nav hire. As I couldn't afford to purchase one right before my holiday this hire service was ideal; arrived on time, packaged well, good instructions for return, worked perfectly. Excellent service, arrived bang on time and they were very responsive when I had a few questions to ask. Equipment was like new and worked without fault or hitch in both the UK and USA. Even though the sat nav arrived on time when i used it in portugal it ran out of charge and the charger was not working. Therefore had to guess my way to my villa and not able to use on return journey.
When told Cheap Sat Nav Hire they stated that it was working perfectly and i must have a dodgy car lighter.This was not the case and it was a complete waste of money. Will use different company next time!

Excellent timing of delivery of satnav as agreed. Prompt reply to any inquiry or questions, before and after the hire period. The satnav worked in USA and Canada very well as promised. I have used the Cheap Sat Nav hire on three occasions now and each time it has been delievered without incident and has been easy to use and undoubtedly made my holidays in the UK hassle free. Only one criticism would be that it doesn't always seem to be updated and there are some roads I drove on which it didn't know existed. I don't know how often they get updated and this might be a consideration.

Cheap Sat Nav Hire is a very good service - I hired for a weekend only and there was no extra charge for ensuring that the equipment arrived on a Saturday morning. Everything worked perfectly and the instructions were very clear.
Be careful when ripping open the box though - you have to use the same one to return it!
Don't forget to add the price of special delivery return postage (about £6) to the quoted price - some other companies include a postage paid envelope. However still good...

Cheap Sat Nav Hire is a great service. Sat nav actually arrived earlier than expected. Very easy to set up and use. Price very reasonable.
Cons: Need to pay for postage to return sat nav (and the cost of this) isn't immediately obvious on website. (This is no different from competitors, but it would be useful to be up front about it)

The Sat Nav arrived in plenty of time, nicely boxed with very clear instructions. Returning it was also easy.
We used the Cheap Sat Nav Hire service when traveling around the USA as it worked out far cheaper than the $10 per day that the car rental firm would charge.
The customer service was fantastic and the Sat Nav was all setup ready to go.
Completely stress-free and would highly recommend!

Delivered at stated time. Simple instructions and easy to return....and loads cheaper than some offered through travel companies.
The SatNav was fine but the roads are different around Barcelona. Quick lane changes make you curse the SatNav when in fact it is only keeping up with the roads. I would advise caution checking the names of places. As the anglified ones are not always recognised. e.g. People visit Monserrat but the SatNav need Monistrol de Monserrat. Arrived exactly when due, worked perfectly in US, altho' it did take a good 6 mins to find satellites in California - just enough time for me to think it was faulty. Lesson learned... be patient when first using it abroad!
I liked that I could hire same model I use here, so I knew what I was looking at on strange roads. No other company could even match the price I hired it for. Would use Cheap Satnav Hire again without checking out competitors, because the service was great and I know...

Having never used a sat nav before we were a little worried but the equipment worked perfectly in the USA and was brand new. Instructions provided were simple and they even included a pre printed return label. Would certainly recommend their service and will be using them again for our forthcoming trip to Australia. Hi,
I work for cheapsatnavhire.co.uk and dealt with this customer on thsi particular issue. He had used our company continuously for several years due to the fact he was so happy with the service.
On this occasion he had gone to order a particular model sat nav which we had just decided to stop providing so had removed it from the one of the list of products on our website but it was still available as selectable from our list of products. In the short term we had increased the price to an extortionate price (all other sat navs were still at same low price) to make sure no one would order this model.
The customer got a quote for this model and saw how high it was and automatically assumed that we had increased the prices and decided to complain to us without even giving us chance to explain. As this review is dated the same date he complained to us I expect he wrote this review before we had even had chance to reply to him!
We did email him back and explain the situation but he had already made his mind up by then. Some people prefer to think the worst rather than assume there is a reason or it is a mistake.
Obviously innocent until proven guilty wasn't the case with this person.
