NHS Direct is a great service. It was invaluable when I had Swine Flu, I was housebound and still feeling very ill after 7 days and worried that I wasn't getting better plus I had no idea what to do about being off work. The advice I received from the nurse who I spoke to was great, she talked me though what I should and shouldn't be doing and reassured me. I have used the service many times with general health queries and always had superb advice. I would recommend NHS Direct to anyone who perhaps feel that they don't have time to go to their GPs or needs advice straight away. It nice to know that advice is there 24 hrs a day on their website or at the end of a phone.
