I ordered what I thought was a vibrant purple sofa bed which turned up two months later. The moment I saw the colour I knew I had been given the wrong sofa: the difference was like night and day. I immediately called the after sales team and sent photos of the sofa I ordered verses the one I received. The advisor told me it was a ‘slight variation due to lighting. I told her a blind man could clearly see the difference and it wasn’t slight at all. She told me they could swop it for another colour to which I replied I wanted my money back. She said then I could have my money back but they would take a 30% cancellation fee of nearly £300 because it was made to measure. I replied in no uncertain terms was I going to give them £300 for a sofa that I bought in good faith and it turned up not the sofa I had ordered. I told her under The Consumer Act I should get a full refund due to the misinterpretation of the appearance and finish and I would take it further to the financial ombudsman to make sure I received a full refund. She told me to wait on the line and she would consult her manager again. She came back and said that they will refund me in full BUT I would have to pay for them to collect the sofa which was another £50+. I was livid but agreed because I wanted the whole thing to be over as quickly as possible. They collected the sofa on the 9th Feb. I was told my refund wouldn’t be in my account for between 7 - 10 days afterwards: I called them everyday asking about my refund. I spoke to after sales and their accounts department. Someone from Accounts reassured me that they had paid the refund on the 17th Feb. I called everyday from Monday 22nd Feb as no money had entered my bank account. I called several times and on Wednesday the 24th I was so angry I called accounts again and spoke to a female advisor whom I have spoken to several times by then who agreed and said she was embarrassed by the conduct of the company in their handling of my case. I told her I was going to phone every hour on the hour until my money was put in my account and I was ready to do that. An hour later I received an email saying they had just put my refund into my account. I received it this morning 18 days after they collected my sofa and much more than the 7-10 days quoted for my refund. I honestly feel if I didn’t continually chased them up I still wouldn’t have received my refund. They said it was paid on the 17th but clearly it wasn’t. I’m so upset by my whole experience with this company I would NEVER recommend them if my life depended on it. If you want an unprofessional irresponsible lack lustre service and product go to these guys. Terrible horrible service.

Sofas look great, although on closer inspection one of the backs was 'baggy' and could have been tighter and one sofa was missing two of the feet. Had the sofas delivered abroad at a cost of £545. They had been packaged on one pallet one on top of the other. Unfortunately the way they were packaged meant the other feet caused damaged and cracked/scuffed leather to the sofa on the bottom. I've emailed and rang customer service who said 'with heat and use these marks should become less obvious'. I paid for new sofas not sofas with damage which 'should' become less obvious. I have requested a discount but haven't heard anything back. After 7 days I wrote to both the MD and CEO - that was 2 months ago and I'm still waiting for an answer or even an acknowledgement! A shame as I really like the sofas. Very unprofessional after-sales service, in fact down right rude to just ignore your customers.

ordered sofa online from this company. received multiple emails because they kept on changing the delivery date. and every time the excuse given is the delivery schedule is not around my area at that time. never once mentioned that the sofa is actually not ready yet. so because i want it immediate, arrange for own pick-up and they waived the delivery cost. the day before pick-up, called the company to ensure that we're coming in tomorrow, confirming address and opening times, again never mentioned anything that the sofa is not ready. the day on the pick-up, rented van and everything because coming from birmingham so start early in the morning, and suddenly received email at 11am saying the sofa is not ready and can only be pick up two days later or they'll deliver instead. saying that the guy who working on it is on emergency leave, as if that is my problem as a customer. refused to give compensation for the rented van...so i cancelled the order and asked for full refund...never once regret not getting the sofa because this is an improper conduct...should never had happened, should notify me earlier instead of this empty promises....

Well. Decided to visit the factory 3 miles away to discuss in person the delivery of suite and rocking chair. No boss available. No office staff from upstairs prepared to talk to me direct, but hey the warehouse boy spoke to me and explained that deliveries had been delayed because of snow in January. That's the only explanation offered and I accepted that. But when can I have my suite delivered? He ran upstairs and came back a minute later and said it wont be next week but maybe the week after that. I replied that is not good enough I want a specific date! Upstairs he went and came back with the delivery book and said the first available delivery date is Fri 20th February. I wasn't happy but what else can you do? He went back upstairs with the book and returned saying that they were offering to knock off the delivery charge as a gesture of good will. I accepted and asked if I could view my suite. He said it was complete, in storage in the warehouse but not available to view. I left and went back home disappointed. On the 19th February a member of staff phoned and confirmed delivery for the next day 20th Feb between 4 and 7pm. Whoopee! The delivery arrived at 5pm. They brought in an armchair and sofa then told me the other armchair had not been manufactured yet to which I replied RUBBISH. They then brought in the rocking chair and asked for full payment. I refused. This sorry saga continues. The quality of what I did receive is rubbish by the way! ####4u should be the brand name of designer sofas4u.

Ordered chesterfield suite and rocking chair around Christmas and told 4-6 weeks delivery. On return from holiday received an email to say delivery arranged for Fri 6th Feb. Brilliant! Emailed back 4th Feb to confirm and waited in 6th Feb for delivery. That afternoon I phoned to be told that the delivery would not be today as my email confirmation was too late as the truck had been loaded up the day before. I said OK could I have delivery Tues 10th Feb or 12th Feb as I am at home. I was told they would try to arrange that. Today the 10th I phoned for confirmation that there are no local deliveries this week so it will be next week now. I asked for a date which the boss said he could not give. I only live 3 miles away from the factory. Surely the suite could be loaded for on the way out to distance deliveries or just put it on the truck and deliver 30 minutes, done! What do you think? More expensive in storage and meanwhile we've nowt to sit on.

I even recommended this outfit, to my parents and friends!! After 11 months we noticed one of the leather cushions was cracking... Not even thinking about it I headed back to work (out of the country)... I put it on my to do list. But I never thought that a leather sofa would only have one year warranty!! Got in contact with them 5 weeks later & got a reply a month after that saying I had informed them too late!! Better off saving up & getting the real deal.. Chesterfield should last more than one year!! Mr disgruntled Adam

Ordered a kitchen table 3 weeks before Xmas with a estimated delivery lead time of 7 - 21 calendar days. Table failed to appear, no explanation in fact no communication at all. When chased on 30th, customer service assistant could only say sorry we couldn't meet that delivery time because of Christmas. Offered no apology for the lack of communication. Kindly advised that the table would materialise sometime during January but couldn't be more specific. Order cancelled. 0/10 for customer service and service in general.

I ordered two 3 seater chesterfield sofas. The first thing I noticed was how light in weight they were..my six year old can lift them..when I sat on them I sunk into the base and the wooden frame supprting the cushions dug into the back of my knees..I am devastaed its nearly christmas have family coming fron the states... Apart from the embarrasment where are they supposed to sit.....I called dDesignet sofas 4 u, who are unapologetic even after admitting the spunge used in the seating was incorrect yellow, which should be used for upholstering backs of seats, not seating...They have refused to send me the correct cushion's which should be blue..they say I can return the sofas at a cost to me and tbey will only part refund ...either way I lose. about £400.00 and £400 short of money for new sofas...They shouldnt be allowed to sell sub standard good a the cost to the consumer, we hove no protection..STAY WELL CLEAR..

Ordered something which was in stock and should have taken about 10 days to deliver. Over two months later I still dont have my items. Twice now I took on the delivery on a Saturday morning after a late night shift on the Friday before only to take on a still incomplete order. Very frustrated! Furthermore I ordered with them (same items were available on several websites) as they told me the items were in stock when I ordered. Yet months later I am still waiting!! I am out of patience!

I ordered and pre-paid for chair for £300. 1. Had for chase for an acknowledgement of the receipt of the order. 2. Phoned every week for 3 weeks to try and get a date for delivery (constantly being told it should be next week. 3. Week 3 I'm then told another 6 weeks so I agreed to cancel the order with a full refund which should go in the same day. 4. a week later I'm phoning to find out where my money is and the lady (who actually has been very polite) can't get through to accounts. so 4 weeks in, £300 out of pocket and no chair, a lot of expense in time and phone call and still trying to get my money back. My advise - don't bother. It seems on face value that you will save - but the reality, or at least my experience, has been the exact opposite!

I ordered and prepaid £569 including delivery for a standard Chesterfield single chair in April, 3 weeks later they called to advise it will cost an extra £410 delivery fee to the IOW. (Red Funnel only charge £37 to the island). No replies, finally in August, they have not made the chair yet, they had no options but to wait another 3 weeks for a delivery, or give a refund. Even though I could arrange local Red Funnel delivery, Designersofas4U cannot get it to Southampton in a timely manner. Order Cancelled. Their level of care, follow up or attention does not match their supposed consumer service - its their way or the highway at their time and convenience.

Quality was disgusting, no concept of customer service, took 30 days to come was suppose to take 7-21 days and 2 weeks to get my money back. I have genuinely never dealt with a ruder more incompetent crowd. Avoid like the plague!

My problems with DesignerSofas4U started the day I made the mistake to order a couple of Chesterfield chairs from them, to be shipped to Canada. It was November one year when it began. It took several months, several phone calls, as they didn't respond to the many emails I was forced to send, and a lot of frustration to just get the order made. Any time delays saw DesignerSofas4u blaming the shipping company for being really slow in providing a quote for shipping to Canada. (The shipping was overpriced & this is a terrible shipping company who claims to be 'international',yet is not set up for customs brokerage. The customer is forced to do this them self. Meaning that you have to pay the customs prior to ever seeing the chairs & seeing what condition they may have arrived in. I comment on the shipping company as someone who imports goods into Canada on a regular basis from China with absolutely no trouble & with international North American based shipping companies easily getting the job done for me each time. DesignerSofas4U uses a terrible shipping company as DesignerSofas doesn't care about the quality of business they are doing with customers. As for my order: Many months later, the order was finally processed with a promise that I'd see my chairs in 2 or 3 months time. By May the next year, the chairs showed up. Now this horrible shipping company apparently doesn't own any boxes into which they might place a couple of chairs travelling from the UK to Canada so instead they simply put a cheap, dollar store type plastic bag over each chair, stacked the chairs one over the other and then wrapped a handful of pieces of thin foam padding around the centre area of the stack of chairs. By the time the chairs arrived in Canada, they had both been crushed beyond repair but you wouldn't see it immediately. You would first have to sit in the chair & watch it break apart. I signed for the chairs as they looked fine, before I ever sat down in them. Once I sat down in the chairs, the most busted up of the two literally broke into two pieces, with the top half of the chair shifting off to the side. Horrible, horrible, horrible company to deal with! I immediately sent off photos and correspondence to the DesignerSofas4U people to no avail. They kept saying that they were awaiting a response from the shipping company to see who was responsible for packaging the chairs. They had no intention of replacing the chairs nor of reimbursing me for the cost of this mess. The person corresponding with me via email told me to phone them sometime and 'we can discuss it'. I phoned several times and got no answer. Now there is a time difference between countries of course & I made certain to stay up till the early hours in order to be making the calls at UK time 9 or 10am. I'm guessing they have 'call display' & simply chose to not pick up the line when they saw it was me calling. They stopped email correspondence soon thereafter also. This is a horrible company & unfortunately run by people who don't care about their customers nor about how much money it's costing the people unfortunate enough to want to purchase chesterfield furniture from them. I've lost over $2200cdn for my poor decision to have ever done business with designersofas4u. I have two crushed, worthless chairs sitting in a heap awaiting disposal as I've given up trying to get help from DesignerSofas4U. I don't want to see anyone else make the same expensive mistake that I did in doing business with them.

I placed an order with Designer Sofas 4U. They couldn't deliver on time, they were not at all proactive in keeping me up to date, and they failed to refund (I had to chase) even when they promised an immediate refund. When I did manage to speak to people to chase progress, I got very inconsistent responses. Would I use these people again - absolutely not.

Hi Barbados22222, same here. Leather seems to be very bad quality, I want a refund of this company. What is your plan of action?
