Good Points: Great customer service. Got telephone advice whilst sorting out the base. I thought I had a log missing and had one shipped out special delivery within a week (incidentally I did have a log missing of one particular size - fortunately I had an extra log of a larger size so was able to cut to fit... phew!!).

Bad Points: Instructions could be improved. Perhaps with step by step photos or online video? Pieces should have ident labels on them.

General comments: I had no problems with my Alpine Marlborough log cabin. Instructions were a little tricky but matters could be improved if the pieces had identification stickers on them. Me and a friend had the majority of the cabin up on a Friday afternoon. The roof and felting takes about a day, coupled with all the fiddly bits like adorning the inside with trims, laying the porch floor, installing the porch beam,, etc.

I found the customer service great. I was offered delivery two days after I ordered but declined because I hadn't prepared the base. Once I had done that, I had delivery within the week (phoned on Tues, delivered on Fri).

Make life easier by separating all the bits (check them with a tape) and put the flooring and roofing in two separate piles away from the logs and bearers. Don't even think about the flooring until everything else is complete - we had a fusebox installed by a qualified electrician and the cables from the fusebox to the power sockets went through the bearers - the flooring was put in LAST - after the inside of the cabin had been treated too.

On delivery of Waltons Alpine Marlborough Log Cabin the roofing felt was missing. I rang and was told theyd pay a maximum of 3 £5 foif I bought the felt myself - so i bought what i could - not enough to cover the roof of course and sent them the bill. I got a cheque which was fine.then I find there are no instructions, the roof beam is warped so wont sit flat and there are hinges missing - huge barrel hinges which I cant find on the internet so cant re-purchase myself. Can't get through to ...
