Good Points: This story is delightful to read while being informative. The sombre subject is relieved by some excellent, light-hearted writing.
Bad Points: None that come to mind.
General comments: Joseph Joffo,Martin Sokolinsky, A Bag of Marbles - Clearly, the subject of this story is very disturbing and upsetting and this is mainly why A Bag of Marbles is such a literary feat. The sheer entertainment value is enough to make you want to read it more than once. It also offers some insight into what Jews had to go through due to Hitler and I think that this book is a good way of educating children about the Holocaust without scaring or shocking them too much.
