    Purchased unit from Best Buy in January 2007 for $665. Motor failed (LE error) in less than a week. Motor replaced under warantee - took nearly a month. Less than 3 years later, motor has failed again. Estimated $350 plus to repair. Not worth the money and effort. Unit was difficult to load efficiently; did not dry well (even with rinse aid); frequently did not clean dishes well. Based on experience with this and other LG appliances, I will NEVER buy LG again and recommend that nobody waste their money on LG appliances.

    First thing we found that it took long time to complete cycle, and didn't seem to dry plates well. The LG LDS5811WW was our first dishwasher, so didn't know what to expect really. After about 10 months the sump/motor assembly had to be replaced and was done under warrenty. Now it's failed again with a drain fault. It gets lightly used maybe once every 2 days and we have to clean everything first as it doesn't seem to clean very well anyway. Would not buy this make again. It's about 6 months out ...

    I have owned this dishwasher for 3 years. And each year I have had to pay for a repair man to come and fix it. $100 each time. Each time it has been a manufacture defect! I will never buy another LG dishwasher again.

    Basically the LG LDS5811WW is really quiet and that was the main reason for buying it. Beyond that, there is really not a whole lot of good I can say about it. The service people want a fortune just to come look at it. I'm sorry to say that after just over a year, we'll be looking for a less expensive model, not an LG.

    After nine months of operation on my LG LDS5811WW, it appears that the motor has burnt out, and getting a service appointment has been one problem after another. This is the second major LG product that I have had problems with (the other was a TV), and calling customer service is an exercise in futility.

    This LG LDS5811WW overall performance is extremely unsatisfactory constantly failing with only light use.
    after 2.5 years the entire motor has broken down
    at a repair cost not worth making.
    must be replaced
    company is not responsive.
