A pleasant parkland course that looks much tighter on Google Earth than it is on the ground. Despite playing on the 13th August 09, the course was wet, very wet in places and grass cutting had suffered as a result. The greens were in very good condition but the bunkers had also suffered from the rain. Some nice holes and the 17th in particular was magnificent.
Would have liked a course layout map on-line or at least on the card. Next tee indicators at the greenside would have been useful.
Gay Hill Golf Club is a nice course, very friendly pro shop and club staff and at a fair price with the County Card. I will be back.

Unfortuantley, this is not the course that it was a few years ago. But with some loving attention it will return to a tricky and punishing course

I was a member of Gay Hill golf club for a long time when i was a junior and colt. Its a great club. Its very long and got so many places and traps that it you fall in to can ruin your whole round. The greens, at time I would say are spectacular and some of the best ive ever played on.
There are a number of holes that just stand out in your mind as strange and challenging. The back nine is probably the best back nine of any course i have ever played.
