STAYED IN A BRONZE CARAVAN, IT WAS CLEAN AND TIDY,BUT WE PAID FOR DECKING SO OUR DOG WOULD BE SAFE,THERES NO GATE ON THEM WHICH TO ME IS A BIT POINTLESS.IT WAS RAINING WHEN WE GOT THERE,THERE WAS DOOR MAT OUTSIDE,BUT NOT ONE INSIDE,SO THE FLOOR ENDED UP FILTHY,WE USED A DUSTER TO SOAK UP THE RAIN. SITE ITSELF WAS CLEAN AND OK.THE SITE SEEMED TO BE MASSIVE WITH ALL THE CAMPING,BUT CLUBHOUSE AND ARCADE SEEMED TOO SMALL. THOUGHT THE IDEA OF BUS TAKING YOU TO OTHER SITES AND BEACH WAS GREAT SO... This was the second year we have visited Twitchen and on both occaions I have had to complain about the cleanliness of the caravan. The first year we had a basic van but this year we had a Trinidad and found that the twin room had not even been cleaned as there was a pink ribbon on the floor along with two clothing loops and a 10p piece and the mattress had bits all over it. There was a hair in the shower, the headboard in the double room was thick with dust and one glass in the kitchen had... (read more)

Stayed in Twitchen House the last week of the school holidays 2010, and what an enjoyable holiday we had. We took our dog with us and stayed in a Tobago (pet friendly) caravan. The caravan was in an ideal location, was large (apart from the bedrooms) and very clean, probably the best I have stayed in with our dog. There was a large decked area around the caravan which was ideal. The flooring in the lounge and kitchen area was all lino and also very clean. No only problems I encountered... (read more)

Stayed at Twitchen House at Easter 2010. What a gem. We took ouir girls aged 5,6 & 8 and they loved it.
Best value is the big yellow bus. Ony £3 for the week for a ticket. You can use the bus as much as you want to get to other parks and go to the beach.
We have booked again for a week in August in a luxury caravan. The best thing is the location. North Devon is wonderful, and Woolacome bay is one of the best beaches you will find anywhere

we took our kids (20/17/14yrs old) for a week.access to the site was by a narrow lane(take care) primrose caravan was extremely clean. the layout made it feel a bit cramped but it was well maintained with two loos!!.disappointed in fishing pools as they were unusable and the walk to the beach was either via a hilly track or narrow busy country roads.we couldn't drive to beach because it was that busy (not exaggerating when i say 1000's of people)we couldnt park.if you want a busy well... Just come back from a short break. Fantastic holiday park. Great for my two sons, aged 9 and 6. Friendly staff, nice caravan, lovely pool and water flume for the kids. Best caravan holiday ive had - would stay here again.
Only down side - too far to walk to the beach - but taxi ride only £6.00. Could have taken our own car, but parking difficult and carpark costs £5.50.

We have just come home after a short break at Twichen House Holiday Parc and to be perfectly honest we could not fault it. The accommodation was fantastic. We stayed in one of the smaller caravans, the Estoril and it was spotless. It was perfect for the four of us, myself, husband and two small boys. The staff were extremely helpful. We didnt have any hangers and asked at reception and within 10 minutes had hangers. The staff were friendly and the facilities were great. The park was... (read more)

We (2 Adults 2 Kids ages 3 and 5) booked through Sun holidays, even with the mixed reviews this place seemed to have. However, it was pretty good. The caravan was old stock, clean but basic. We stayed for 4 nights and I think that was enough. A longer stay would be better in a newer caravan. The childrens entertainment was a bit lame compared to other places (Haven for example) but the girls liked it and thats really all that matters. The bus was great value and allows you to visit all the... (read more)

We booked our Woolacombe Bay, Twitchen House holiday through the sun newspaper at a price of £96.00 for a family of four for five days so we were only expecting the basic package.
When we arrived we were given our keys and were told we had a buttercup caravan d4 . The caravan was immaculate with exterior decking and laminate flooring inside. The toilet and bathroom and kitchen were very clean,so first thoughts were WOW.
The outdoor pool was lovely after a long drive and the childrens...

Arrived at Woolacombe Bay, Twitchen House to find out that the caravan smelt, no path leading up to it so had no choice but to walk over the wet grass.
caravan had no dog pack as stated, no hooks/bowls etc
Grill didn't work, oven was hit and miss - at least there was a microwave
Grass cut whilst there, so caravan sprayed with wet grass cuttings
Leak in roof in kitchen, no plug or bowl in kitchen - all faults reported but no notes taken so guess these faults will still be there for the...

Stayed at Twitchen House from 13th-17th July. Had a so called luxury 'Trinidad' caravan which wasn't. Floor hadn't been hoovered, beds not made up (although stated on the web) asked for a bed to be removed for space for travel cot (that had not been done) paid for a highchair which wasn't already in the caravan so had to ask a cleaner for one and cleaned it myself ! Kids 'so called' entertainment was awlful (for us adults anyway). The info on the web comes across really good but very... (read more)

Stayed in an old style trinidad caravan from June 22nd - June 26th... though the sun holidays, even though we had upgraded our van, I wasnt too impressed. The bedsheets hadnt been changed from the previous people, which were covered in body odur and some sort of chocolate?? type stuff, the bbq looked like it hadnt been cleaned in years, there were dead flies splattered on the wall in the spare room (which we didnt stay in) the furniture looked really old and shabby, curtains were falling... Twitchen House is a well maintained and clean site, and pet friendly. The walks to the beach are lovely and if you don't want to walk you can purchase a ticket for £2.50 for the site bus for the week. You then have the option for going to all the parks as well as the beach. Plenty of activities....swimming, tennis, table tennis, bowls, skittles, 10pin bowling, crazy golf, snooker, 9/18 hole professional golf course although you need to go to the different parks to enjoy them all. Although... (read more)

We were 2 adults (no kids). I was abit sceptical after reading reviews but I have no complaints at all. Twitchen House is about a 15 min walk to Woolacombe or the village of Morthoe and both are lovely places.
Our caravan was abit old and had green moss on the outside but inside had everything that was needed and was right near the reception and all the entertainment.
The bar was large and kept us entertained in the evenings, pool tables, arcade, chippy, amusement arcade.

Stayed for 7 nights in a "budget" caravan, was well worth the money. The Twitchen House site is well presented, easy to find, and has good access to Woolacombe town, and is a short drive from Barnstaple. The caravan itself, yes a few years old, and a bit drafty, but no problems and had a well-supplied kitchen. The telly showed the sky sports feed from the bar as well, nice bonus. Excellent value for money this time of year. The on-site bar has lousy entertainment aimed more at kids with... (read more)

Caravan old and very cold and drafty with windows that where falling out. No Path to caravan had to walk over long wet grass which was slippy. No lighting around caravans. Entertainment very poor and no quiet seating area for people who prefer a quiet drink and chat. Would not return again or recomend Woolacombe Bay, Twitchen House to others. (read more)

Don't bother staying here if you are in a tent. The touring field is an afterthought - furthest away from amenities on a big slope, and very exposed to strong headland winds. For the price you pay per night, you would expect a flat pitch. Disappointed. (read more)

Nice walk (fairly long though through fields - watch out for sheep poo!) to beach.
Entertainment staff worked hard and were good at their job.
Caravan clean and looked fairly new (but did upgrade)
Bus to other linked parks cheap and easy to use.
Booked though Sun holidays offer. Very good value for money overall.
