Second year running at The Golden Coast Park and we are already looking forward to next year! Absolutely loved it. Went with our 2 small children, admittedly booked through the sun newspaper which means paying less but worth every penny.. Have upgraded to honeysuckle lodges both times and they really are a home from home. Yes they are a bit old fashioned, not 100% clean and do smell a bit fusty but I could quite easily live in one. Pools fantastic, entertainment ok, on-site shop seems to stock everything you need and overall standard of park great. Lots of activities on park although you do pay extra. eg Ten-pin bowling £13 for 4, half price of local alley. Big yellow bus to woolacombe/beach also good, £3 per adult for whole week compared to £5 carpark per day-bargain! 1 possible bad point- onsite cafe/takeaway not very good. All in all a holiday is what you make of it and we loved it!

Overall we were very dissapointed with the The Golden Coast Park. Firstly, we entered the chalet, after expecting a caravan to find a horrible, fusty smell inside. The bedding that was provided was just chucked on top of the bed. It made me cautious to put our sleeping bag down as everything looked so dirty. We took a look around to find damp and mould in one corner of the room and all around the door - right by where our bed was. The kitchen was awful, very dirty, needless to say this caused us ...- Read Guest's review (208 words)

Went there on a sun holiday, If I had paid full price I would have been disappointed, but all in all a nice little cheap break away. Welcome pack was poor, especially for a short break, didn't know what was going on until too late. (TIP. get a "parkstar" to tell you what is going on at the beginning of your trip so you can plan best entertainment for the kids)A lot of the activities were at an additional cost, We didn't mind so much as we had come on a bargain holiday, but if I had paid full pri ...- Read dreamsweep's review (243 words)

We stayed in The Golden Coast Park camping fields and would never go again. We found a number of the the staff to be rude and ignorant. In the lower camping area it is a long walk to any facilities including toilets. The facilities for children are also well below what you would expect of a modern holiday park. As an example the ex34 extreme activities is a tiny corner of the park about the size of our garden. Not like the pictures in the brocure show.- Read alan689's review (104 words)

Been to a few holiday parks around Devon and Cornwall and would strongly recommend Woolacombe bay. This will be our 3rd time returning. We stay in the Honeysuckle lodges which are comfortable and spacious. I cannot comment on any of the other accomodation. Good facilities close to an excellent beach, great for a young family and safe. The pub on the Golden Coast park is excellent and the pub just down the road is also good.
Good value for money, great for young kids. Lodge accomodation very g ...- Read Guest's review (111 words)

Strongly recommend the The Golden Coast Park holiday park. This will be our thrid time back, and it is far better than other parks we have been to in Devon and Cornwall. Good value for money, honeysuckle lodges are clean, spacious and comfortable. Facilities are good, and an excellent pub at golden coast and also one just down the road. Great location for day trips, beaches at Woolacombe, Bideford sandy and good for young family. Great value for money especially if on tight budgets. Shocked ...- Read mcurneen's review (122 words)

We stayed at The Golden Coast Park in Woolacombe Bay in October 2008. We upgraded the caravan home as other reviews were not too kind about the standard caravans. We have never stayed in a caravan before so we were quite nervous as we didn't know what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised when we saw how spotless and spacious it was. It was more like an apartment than a caravan. We had beautiful sea views and there was decking outside with a barbecue area where we would sit and have lu ...- Read Maria Demetriou's review (172 words)

I've been reading all the negative reviews and it doesn't sound like the same camp. Things are not going to be perfect all the time people. Things do go wrong that's life! The one about ducks on the pool is laughable, you swim in the sea - that's got a lot more pollution in it than a pool with a few ducks. We have been going to this camp since 1995 and - apart from a couple of minor hiccups - we have a great time. So ignore the bad reviews and give it a go.- Read Guest's review (143 words)

We have been going to the golden coast for 13 years and had over 20 holidays in that time. We've stayed in the lodges and caravans and all have been clean, if we hired linen it's always crisp and wrapped in plastic. Plenty of places to visit. We've seen the camp grow, watched the lodges being built over the years. Lots of changes - not always good - however we still come back each year. As sole carer of my elderly mother I only get 5 days respite a year and need to go somewhere I know will be cl ...- Read Guest's review (205 words)

I stayed for 3 nights at the Clematis Apartments the room was clean. Even had tea and biscuits for kids when we arrived. The weather was average. We arrived at 12pm we couldn't get keys till after 3pm we went via Woolacombe bay camp (you can use facilities at any camp operated by them) very hilly and hard walk walking back from beach, easy getting there downhill. Entertainment at Golden Coast average. I thought it was funny kids loved it both indoor and outdoor pools good. Food at the take out a ...- Read Guest's review (327 words)

This is what we have complained about:
1. We arrived at approx 5.20pm on Friday 29th, and were directed to pitch 70, when we arrived at the pitch it was completely water logged, with thick deep mud which had been churned up by a motor home, it would have been impossible to put a tent on this pitch.
2. We were then offered pitch 61, which we initially inspected and appeared to be mostly grass, so initially appeared to be OK. We spend over an hour and a half trying to pitch our tent here but the ...- Read Mini Monkey's review (801 words)

Came back from Golden Coast on 9th August. Thought the caravan was filthy, we were well away from all amenities so you felt like I was not part of a park, thought the entertainment was dire same old thing every night, best thing I found was waiting for the ducks to come to swimming pool every night, and it cost me 680 to stay there would never go back, found it awful. Thought the whole place was terrible. That part of Devon very nice but very very hilly.- Read pootytang's review (102 words)

The The Golden Coast Park has a well stocked supermarket and lovely (not overpriced), beauty salon - which we used as the weather not very good!! Unhelpful reception staff. Arrived & found that our caravan was placed at the very bottom of a steep hill which I felt wasn't part of the park at all. On entering the skylight was leaking, the previous occupiers dirty linen were crumpled on the bed, the window in the twin room had no lock on it & one bed was wonky so you rolled onto one side. The bathroom was filthy so was the whole caravan to be honest. Complained & they sent cleaners in, and it was still dirty after they left. Loads of empty caravans available altho ...- Read busymadmum's review (132 words)

We arrived at the Golden Coast Park Resort on 26.07.08 firstly given a Estoril van as booked and paid in full for some months previously, we unpacked and found someones presents in one of the cupboards, deciding to take them to reception when we were ready, we discovered very quickly that it seemed nothing had been cleaned and outside floor was cleaner than the carpet and floors inside the van, we decided that we would unpack and find a local supermarket to find cleaning products and to have som ...- Read chidgey's review (358 words)

Thought the reception staff at The Golden Coast Park were unhelpful, didn't seem interested in our problems with the caravan. Take-away staff smoking outside the kitchen door then coming back in and preparing food without seemingly washing hands. Yuk! Overall I would never go back to this site. Accommodation needs a complete revamp and a good cleaning team to get it up to standard.- Read Guest's review (153 words)
