I had already flew several times with airbaltic and it was a terrible experience. This is the worst flight company I ever dealt with. They constantly delaying the flights, so I had to wait around two hours at the airport every time. They broke my suitcase and the suitcase of my friend in all those flights we took. I bought my suitcase the day before specific flight in Lithuania and it was absolutely new. We never asked for compensation until the recent flight. When I had to take a cab from... (read more)

In december 2012 we booked tickets from Oulu, Finland to Vienna through Riga - it was AirBaltics 2013 spring - summer discount. Today we have noticed, that the flight from Finland was totally cancelled. The truth is, that AirBaltic is not flying anymore from Oulu since october 2012!!! And they still sold us tickets in december 2012 for may 2013!!! Noone informed us, they just took our money, lied and cheated and they put us into a very difficult situation now. We are traveling to our... (read more)

My wife and I were flying on this airline in October of 2012. A few days before the flight I made an on-line credit card payment of 20 euros for one check-in luggage that we intended to have. On the day of our flight at the registration counter in the Vienna airport we were requested to pay 30 euros fee for the piece of luggage that we wanted to check in. They apparently did not see our credit card payment in their system! And in addition, a copy of an invoice that we presented (per... (read more)

I've booked a ticket for my wife. Her baggage was charged with 270 EUR for 28 Kg bag. It is EVEN MORE than the flight cost (258 EUR) Despite the information on their web-page - 20 EUR per bag. THEY CHEAT PEOPLE! DO NOT USE IT! If I would read this review beforehand I wouldn't use it. Hope this will help to someone. (read more)

I flew Air Baltic from Istanbul to Tallinn and could not have been more disappointed. I was unaware of their outrageous 30 Euro baggage fee and to top it off I was treated terribly by one of their Istanbul ticket counter employees. If you choose to fly with this company you have your head examined. Seriously. (read more)

I bought a ticket from Palanga - Berlin (transfer at Riga) and just a a day before my flight my friend offered me to drive me directly to Riga since he was going there for a business trip. I came to the airport an Air-Baltic ticket officer told me that my ticket is canceled completely, because I was not fallowing the rules. I had to fly from Palanga - Riga - Berlin and I can't come directly to transferring Riga's airport. I was forced to buy new ticket and take the same flight to Berlin. I... (read more)

As the flight from Helsinki to Riga was delayed, I asked the ground staff about the feasibility of catching the connecting the connecting flight to Vilnius. I was informed that flights between Riga and Vilnius are like bus services, every half hour. Well that was my first mistake because the initial connection was missed and the next flight was not scheduled for another 5 hours. Air Baltic offered a bus service reluctantly as the 9 remaining connecting passengers (as some opted other... (read more)

Be aware that air Baltic currently charges a baggage fee for each leg of a one-way flight when paying the fee through the website. (cheaper than paying at the airport) Whether it is a fault in their looking system or a scam I don't know. But on my booking the first was listed as outbound travel and the second leg away the return. Not knowing any better I paid the 20 eur. Fee twice, but after making at the airport I was told the airlines can only charger this fee once per one way of travel,... (read more)

I just got an email from air Baltic saying they don't refund unused baggage fees, and that it is my fault I paid twice. This leads me to believe that describing a two-leg one way flight as both an outbound and return flight is a deliberate strategy of theirs, tricking people into paying double without the ability to get a refund.
I would encourage everybody to stay away from air Baltic and their dirty business methods.

I had a family emergency, so I wanted to change the date of the return flight. Since they don't have a counter in Arlanda Airport I was told to call them or email them. So I asked to change the date on their web-site and I explained my situation in detail and the reason I have to fly as soon as possible. The next day I got an email asking for 455 EURO to be paid in two hours. I paid for a two way flight 305 USD and they want 455 euro to change the date...I couldn't believe it. I checked... I have flown on air baltic at least half a dozen times from Riga to Frankfurt over a period of 5 years and never had a problem. Flights were on time, planes were clean, no lost luggage. Yes you pay extra for 20kg of luggage but this is common amongst many airlines now that fly shorter routes and offer cheap tickets. (read more)

Air Baltick does cheat people as much as they can in order to get out of us as much money as they can!!! - we've bought direct flight to Lithuania (paid extra money for it) to find out that there isn't direct flight the very next day via email. And basically they informed that there isn't direct flight so take it whatever they offer or loose half of the money if you cancel the flight!!!! What a liers!!! (read more)

I was flying with my wife on transit flights to Rome from Riga BT443, BT631 on to Rome. Both flights took off with a delay of at least 30 minutes. In Riga, from one aircraft to another ran like sprinters. When arrived in Rome, it turned out that the luggage was left in Riga. In Rome, we were going to celebrate New Year together with friends. Due to the different climatic zones in St. Petersburg and Rome, I had to buy my wife fitting weather clothes not to spoil the New Year. Luggage at... (read more)

I agree that Air Baltic is to be avoided. We booked through a travel age
nt and were assured that as a national carrier Air Baltic would honour its 20 kg allowance. Instead we were hit with a 40 euro levy on our baggage despitie being under the limit.
Worse to follow, our flight was delayed by 1.5 hours. Being late at night there was no refreshment in the lounge. Despite apologies for the delay, when I asked for water, I was told I had to pay for it. I told the stewardess I would...

NEVER EVER FLY WITH AIR BALTIC
Air Baltic baggage allowances shown are not included in the ticket price. The charge is '20 per item of hold luggage per one-way journey, payable at the airport.
VERY EXPENSIVE FOR VERY POOR QUALITY!!!

While booking electronic ticket on Internet for my father, I made a mistake writing my first name instead of his. I discovered it immediately after the booking and called the sales office in Lithuania asking to change the name. They said this would costs around 75 euro. This is more than the price I paid for one way ticket Vilnius-Copenhagen. No account given to the fact that I acted promptly.
When I asked whether I could turn to somebody else at the company, I was told e-mail of the...

This is my second bad experience with Air Baltic. That's why I decided to write a review. The first time I had a direct flight from Berlin to Vilnius and the plane was overbooked, so they sent me via Warsaw, so instead of 1.5 hour travel time I ended up traveling for 5 hours. Second time I had a direct ticket from Oslo to Vilnius. My flight was canceled and I was offered either a refund or a different non-direct flight in the evening instead of morning. I chose a refund and still waiting for... (read more)

just travelled with Air Baltic via Riga to Rome and back. the only good things were that there was above average leg room and 3 out of 4 flights were on time. chose based on price and booked on internet. the moment I clicked 'proceed to pay' I got a notification that the price must be recalculated as cheaper tickets might be sold out etc. Upon recalculation the ticket price per person was the same but the total for 4 adults and 2 children increased by over EUR 100 in taxes! as we were... Sorry for the misspelling! I can't figure out how to edit the post. The worst ones are; Looking system - booking system . Away the return - as the return. Making - asking.
