He was truly sturdily and calmly when he was facing his Mother, and he never gave up! He had the determination to fight for his freedom as well as get back his real family. I can't even know that why was his Mother treated him in this way? It's a great book, I enjoy it very much.- Read windyldd's review (57 words)

Everything about it. The most intersting story I have ever read. I really got sucked into it and it provoked so many feelings.
I can't beleive how much his mother put him through I sometimes just felt like crying. I was so close to tears.- Read Guest's review (52 words)

I'm 14, and I have just started reading 'A Man Named Dave' by Dave Pelzer. 'A Child Called It' was so sad and upsetting, but it just showed how strong a little boy can be! I was so proud at how he kept going, even though his mother was beating and abusing him every day, and even starving him of food!- Read beth14's review (95 words)

Dave Pelzer, My Story: "A Child Called It", "The Lost Boy", "A Man Named Dave": Dave Pelzer goes into so much detail in 'A Child called IT!' and other people have been put through similar positions and need help. In this fabulous book, Dave without knowing, is helping people that can't or dare not come forward and speak to other people - I find that this is amazing and very helping.- Read Zoey Shepherd 1001's review (109 words)

Dave Pelzer, My Story: "A Child Called It", "The Lost Boy", "A Man Named Dave" - Overall I thought the books were very good. They show how Dave did not lose hope. He is telling people no matter how hard things in life may be you can always fight all the problems away. Dave has also given hope to the children and people who do get physically abused. He has shown and told what you can do and what happened to him when he remained quiet, that things just got much worse than he had hoped and he has ...- Read asmaa's review (202 words and 1 comment)

Dave Pelzer, My Story: "A Child Called It", "The Lost Boy", "A Man Named Dave" - Most people are surprised to hear I have read such an overwhelming and emotionally draining book, but as far as I am concerned, this book is a masterpeice. Not only does it highlight the truth about what goes on behind closed doors for many abused children but it also has an extremely important moral message at the base of it: you can survive anything, and come out on top. Whenever you feel life has treated you ba ...- Read scots gal's review (106 words)
