Good Points: Fuel economy, looks, handling, reliability
Bad Points: When you get use to the speed and handling your want to upgrade to an R6!
General comments: I had my Yamaha R125 for 5 weeks and have done over 1200 miles on it. (50 mile commute a day) Top speed is 80mph, It will do 300 miles to a tank (if you treat it niceley), that 100mpg! Love the looks apart from the L plates! Its light and nimble, handles well and very comfortable to sit on for a Super Sport. It has that big bike feel check out that measurement stats against an R6. Acceleration is good for a 4 stroke and being a 4 stroke you get reliabilty and the fact that is Yamaha.

The Yamaha R125 is a superb little bike. I use it for my daily commute (13 mile round trip). With rising fuel prices this bike is an absolute winner. I am a seasoned biker and have owned a lot of bikes, mostly 500cc and above and was astounded how good this bike really is.
Handling is fantastic and when you let the revs pick up it sounds great, delivering a lot more speed than I was expecting.

I bought one of these bikes 3wks ago I had a choice of either RS 125 or yzf-r125 I looked closely at both weighed up pros and cons and to be honest there was only ever going to be one winner. Both bikes are good lookin bikes but personaly the yamaha as the edge. Yamaha £600 cheaper new, cheaper rinning cost + I've had 115 miles from £5 I clocked it.

The Yamaha R125 is very nippy, nice roar of the engine 6k rpm+ very comfortable & light, easy for city traffic, very good ground clearance for great leaning around corners.
I give it a 10/10 in my opinion its the best 125 sports bike out.

Went to see the R125 today. It is a dream. 80mph flat out, thats all you need to follow the speed limits. Very comfortable even though you are thrown forward since it is a sports bike. It's still extremely comfatable. 4 stroke, very reliable, more than a 2 stroke. More torque than a 2 stroke, gets up hills alot easier and proberly has better accelreation. Not as fast as the RS125 de restricted, but why want to go 110mph+ on the aprilia rs 125 when you proberly won't be able to start it back up t ...

Went to have a look at the Yamaha R125 today at my local dealer, i thought i'd tell all you other pre-bikers out there what the bike is like cosmetically, first of all, when i went in, i confused it with the R6, it looks really big compared to other 125, and the back tyre isnt as thin as a push bike like a honda cbr 125. From some videos on you tube, you may think that the screen at the front looks really tall and out of place, well it doesnt, blue looks amazing, yellow looks alright, and the bl ...
