Gold Star Service apparently. So why did I have to walk a mile from the very smart shop to the 'training area'. This training area is a patch of broken up gritty tarmac at a youthclub in the grotty part of Vauxhall/Kennington. The bikes aren't safe even though they were new (mine had 27 miles on the clock). A faulty neutral light and clutch lever switch meant that the bike lurched off when I started the engine despite being told that it would not start with the clutch engaged unless in… Read Full Review

My situation is that I have some years experience overseas riding bikes and have not ridden in the UK before, I did my UK car test 20+ years ago. Turned up for the CBT and it was a fantastic day, I started on the 125cc manual bike there is a great deal to learn that helps you through the next stages on that first day and the joy of going out on the road is thrilling... I then booked the Mod 1 course and it was again a fun two days, lots to learn but the guys are worth every penny of the… Read Full Review

I won a claim against Metropolis for a refund of my course fees after a very poor experience having paid several hundred pounds up front to Metropolis. I agree with other comments about instructers lacking respect, having hangover and breaks for bacon sandwiches. The bike was too high for me, so first day on the DAC was dangerous. Training is on roads behind them where there are many potholes where it was impossible to get my foot down (most of the junctions). I am strong and fit, this saved… Read Full Review

As a teacher with many years experience in all types of schools and as an inspector of schools I have just received some of the best lessons I have ever been privileged to see. Calm, efficient, flexible and highly effective with real depth of knowledge - these guys are seriously good. Ignore the others who criticize. As positive a learning experience as you could ever hope for… Read Full Review

Motorcycle training: The last time I rode a motorbike was when i was 14 years old; no helmet, no rules. I am now 40 yrs old. Then I took my CBT on a scooter (2 months ago). I needed to pass my Module 1 license on a manual bike. I chose "Metropolis Motorcycle Training in Vauxhall, London. As it was my first time on a manual bike, I took a 4 day course (all inclusive). Intensive training, friendly staff, very experienced and calm trainers and I passed my module 1. Big thanks to Chris and Terry… Read Full Review

I did my third CBT with Metropolis, and then went on to pass my Mod 1 and Mod 2 first time, something that I didn't think was going to happen. My instructor (Stuart) is also a mechanic something that I think really helped with my tests, not only was he able to tweak the bike to suit my style of riding, but was the calmest instructor that I have ever had. Less is more is the key, he would be happy to follow riding giving instruction as and when I needed it, rather than barking down the radio on… Read Full Review

I had my 3rd CBT with Metropolis and as always they were very polite and helpful. My trainer was Nick, and from start to finish was very professional, he even helped me rescue my bike when it failed to start. I would definitely recommend Metropolis to anyone carrying out their CBT… Read Full Review

I'm just going to give you some bullet points on my experience with these guys (based on around 5 training sessions with them). I chose them due to the convenient location of the school in central London. Be smart like me and do some research on other schools no matter how far they are from you; its all worth it and you will save money. I recommend 1 stop instruction in Ilford. Kabal and Pepsi are amazing! I love these guys! and I'm sure you will too!. So...here is what Metropolis is about: - I… Read Full Review

Rude, sarcastic trainers. Training is in a derelict playground between some rough estates. The trainer I had clearly had a hangover even smelt of alcohol. Not good for a school thats supposed to promote safety. These people don't realise what a customer is. Instead after they've got your money they don't care about service… Read Full Review

Dont listen to the myths about Metropolis Training School, I did at first and this was a BIG mistake! I was getting no where fast with my previous training school. I decided to try Metropolis on the off chance, as its right near where I live. From my initial enquiry the staff were polite helpful and showed excellent customer service (Sarah) I was going for my full Cat A Licence. I had one full day with Terry..who is a fantastic instructor...he is obviously very passionate about his work...and… Read Full Review

This course is not suitable for novice, nervous or anyone who has'nt been out on a bike for a few years. Instructors neither helpful or patient, you get the impression that their just going through the motions, You pay the fee for the CBT course and then a seperate one for insurance this makes their prices seem competative, the instructors seem bored stiff and if your a novice or nervous their only interested in taking the mickey out of you. Definately would'nt recommand… Read Full Review

After a long and thorough research on riding schools I figured that you cant really tell who s worth and whos not. And that is because it has a lot to do with the intructor/student chemistry. so I decided to spend a bit more and go with Metropolis simply because they have many instructors and the location (Vauxhall) was convinient.
everyone there was professional. No doubt about that. Everyone knew what they were talking about and were really friendly and cool. I think this helps a lot.

I'm sure there are good instructors at this centre, and cleverer riders too, but I myself had a pretty inadequate experience. The instructor had to deal with a pretty nervous absolute beginner, and his impatience really didn't help to give me any confidence. He made it quite obvious he was frustrated, and although I don't blame him, I was really trying my best! He went through the basics of the controls and then when we moved on to the riding, I pretty much went straight into it. Luckily I had… Read Full Review

Just wanted to give you some feedback on my experiences with Metropolis and Mark as my trainer. I thought Mark was totally professional - he gave clear examples and instructions for both modules and was able to provide different explanations for anything I didn't understand fully. I really enjoyed my training and am beginning to have withdrawal symptoms now that I am a fully fledged biker chick!
I look forward to having my advanced rider training when I've got my big proper bike!

I would come back to Metropolis at Vauxhall regularly, since I've enjoyed my CBT course so much. It's a long day and lots of information to take in, but the staff made it so much fun.
my instructor was hilarious! Actually I would come back to do another training just to hear more of his jokes!
I rode a Vespa LX50, the peeps who did manual training rode a Honda (but don't know the exact model)… Read Full Review
