“Paying for a ticket internationally”

When I attempted to pay for my colleague's ticket, my payment was blocked, apparently because VISA thought someone might have stolen my card since I live in Canada and my colleague lives in the UK. That was understandable, but after spending three hours getting the matter cleared up (which included a personal trip to my bank), and VISA had approved the purchase, you then required that I obtain from VISA the approval number which had led to the resolution of the problem. After ordering plane tickets online, I was alerted that more information was needed from my banking company. After 2 calls to my bank, as well as Verified by Visa itself, each person confirmed that they were only able to give the merchant that information. I relayed this information to Travel UP, but was told that if I wanted to keep my ticket, I'd need to reply with the information within the next 2 hours. “Problem with Authorisation Code”

I booked my tickets ,they took money from my credit card, I got my tickets but after that I got an email that they need my authorization Code or they have to cancel my tickets. I got all stressed because I thought it was a fake site and they just stole my money but after I called them I got peace. They were extra helpful and fast and the next day they responded my emails quickly and they fixed the problem and I got my tickets :-) I am happy and looking forward to my trip… Read Full Review

I understand teh safty issues when buying tickets overseas that coast a lot of money. But I can not come even close to explaing how sresfull this purchase was. “Great prices”

Overall service was ok and the prices were the best we've seen anywhere. Getting my flights confirmed and processed was a bit of a task having to call my bank over seas and need to get authorisation codes codes for the transaction etc. I've never had to do this before for any other flights. “Staff very helpful, but itinerary change was...”

I had an email saying My flight itinerary had been changed which resulted in 2 days being taken off my holiday to Australia. It is also my honeymoon, so accommodation had been booked and we were obviously not willing to have 2 days taken off our trip. Informative when she replies; however, not efficient at keeping customers informed of progress/outcome of queries. A lot of chasing needed to get updates. After a stressful evening trying to book online with no luck (having an email confirming flights with a ID number for the booking, but the flight booking had not gone through) I rang, booked and had confirmation on the phone. I was very disappointed with the experience of booking online. The process was very straightforward at first, the website confirmed the seats I had booked were available, but at the point of paying the system wouldn't proceed any further. I had to email twice as the first time both my queries weren't addressed although they were after the second email. My main issue is with travelup itself as I think it is ambiguous to say contact the airline 72 hours before when the airline wont let you contact them unless it is 24 hours. Travel up customer service could be better. After receiving change of flight details I contacted travel up to speak to the agent who had sent the change details as one of the changes was sent with the wrong name on it.
