Good Points: This has to be the most honest account of dishonesty that I have ever read.
Bad Points: Fry tends to go off the subject quite a lot before eventually realising that's he's waffling on again. But this is a part of who he is and you wouldn't want to change it. Probably goes a bit ott at times about his sexuality as if he wants to rub your face in it.
General comments: I rate Moab Is My Washpot as one of the best ten books that I have ever read in my 46 years of life. He gives the reader a good insight of the Public School system. He is honest about himself and openly confesses to his failings in life which make him come across as being very human. I enjoyed this book and it has encouraged me to by everything that Fry has ever written. He is witty, funny, educated and above all he has class and this books takes you through his childhood, it tells you about his family and friends, about him growing up in the Public School system and about him going off the rails. He ends up getting his act together in the end and making good of himself, sadly at Cambridge rather than Oxford and the rest is history.

Well, what can I say? All i think I will tell you is that this book made me feel deliciously British and proud of it. Is is excellent for curling up in an armchair with whilst drinking tea and eating chocolate biscuits. I also bought this on tape and have spent many a sleepless night glorying in the fryness. He has truly truly inspired me.- Read ditchda's review (268 words)
