where were the vegetables? A thin sliver of poorly cooked cabbage is not my idea of a balanced meal. Loose rock salt and pepper on table, why? They need to be in a grinder. The lamb was cooked well, chicken terrine tasteless. (read more)

Excellent locally sourced food, cooked to a very high standard. Good service. Menu is short but reflects the seasonality of the produce offered. Saddle of new season lamb was cooked to perfection and the accompaniment was innovative (rosemary polenta and black olives on a bed of wilted spinach). Well worth a visit but must be booked beforehand as it only has 8 tables! 5/5 (read more)

Knowing that all of the food on the menu is sourced with care and attention, and that the same consideration is taken in delivering it to you is a comforting feeling when eating out. When we talk about food heroes, this is the kind of attitude that should be commended. The food is always seasonal and localy sourced, and it is always, without exception, delicious.
I ate a delectable chicken liver parfait to start, followed by beautiful lamb with roasted polenta and black olives, and an...

Disappointing.
We were looking forward to a good night out with some good food to boot.
The welcome was warm, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was warm. I don't mind paying well for exceptional food, unfortunately the food wasn't exceptional and rather a lack of it, it would have been simple enough and cheap enough to at least supply more veg.
I had wondered how eighteen covers would make them any money, now I know.
Unless the quality and quantity of food is improved upon then I...

We were given a very friendly welcome. The starter of smoked salmon blini was excellent, good quality salmon and it came with a side of delicious home baked bread and butter. The mains (salt beef with herb dumplings + belly pork) were both mouth watering, well cooked, tasty and moreish. We shared a pudding of apple tartin with blackberry icecream. I enjoyed the tart, the pastry was light and crisp and the apple sweet and caramelised. Wasn't sure about the icecream (would have preferred... (read more)

We have dined at Slice twice, both for lunch and both times it has been faultless. Excellent service, impeccable food and great ingredients! Definately swansea's number 1! They only do one service per table to make sure the food is always top class and there are no excessive waitibg times, this proves it really is a customer focused eaterie! (read more)

We arrived at Slice in the pouring rain for a birthday celebration. After a warm sunny welcome we forgot about the rain & were shown to our table where a birthday card awaited the birthday girl from all the staff at Slice. How nice was that? It's those little touches, which make a difference. Once seated & birthday wishes expressed from the other diners, a fresh jug of Pimms arrived to enhance our appetite. The menu was seasonal, fresh, tasty & fulfilling and we enjoyed all 3 courses... (read more)

Four of us celebrated a special birthday last week with a 3 course lunch. The front of house welcome was exceptionally friendly, sensitive and fun. We were greatly impressed by the phenomenal level of cooking for this price point. My twice-baked cheese souffle was tops for texture, flavour and appearance. A range of main courses gave satisfaction all round and the potato gratin was spot-on. The only quibble in the entire meal was that the rhubarb parfait would have benefitted from... (read more)

As it was the christmas lunch for the 'Dixie Chicks', we went for all the courses, coffee, truffles and tweeles. We didn't eat breakfast so as to be able to enjoy all that Slice had to offer. The lunch today was fabulous and 3 clean plates went back to the kitchen for every course. I can't decide which was the best as it was all so tasty and a right feast for the eyes, the tastebuds and the soul. A truly scrumptious treat which sent us off feeling quite spoilt and contented. My belly... (read more)

I think they're the TOP about hospitality, service, atmosphere. Apart from all this, I think it's the best restaurant in Swansea regarding the food. I admire the self-confidence of the chef as he shows himself preparing his creations, and he really does in a unique way. The food is top-class. (read more)

We have now been twice to slice, and on both occasions the food and service were top rate. There is sufficeint choice to suit just about anybody and the dishes are imaginative and well prepared. If you wish to know anything about the food every last detail is known. Swansea is lucky, and Sketty even luckier, to have a restaurant of this calibre. Anyone with even the vaguest notion of what good food is will be delighted with this little gem of an enterprise. (read more)

We celebrated our Anniversary at Slice on Saturday 8th Nov with two of our very dear friends and without a doubt Slice is the finest restaurant in the area, as I believe it has just picked up an award from the taste of Wales competition. The food and service was First Class. We would highly recommend the restaurant. It is very relaxed and friendly. We shall be eating here again. (read more)

Slice is arguably the best place to eat in Swansea.
My wife and I ate there for the first time yesterday and the food was excellent.
Twice baked pumpkin and goats cheese souffl starter and the lamb main course were nothing short of superb. My wife had a delicious apple and prune sticky pudding and I had poached pear with ice cream and chocolate sauce - both delicious.
Service was personal and friendly. Overall a great experience. Not cheap at £56 for lunch for two but worth every...

I have been back four times now and have yet to be disappointed. The service is perfectly judged and the atmosphere is always very relaxed. The menu is always interesting combining simple, locally-sourced quality ingredients into well-presented dishes. There are no overpowering flavours that so often become difficult to stomach in combination at other more pretentious establishments. (read more)

We had the Slice restaurant all to ourselves as Cris and I celebrated with 14 of our friends from around the country. The food was stunning, service immaculate and the staff endured our lively party atmosphere with a smile....
We would not hesitate to recommend this delightful venue for either a large group or an intimate dinner for two.
Brilliant evening!

Slice, what a find. This is just what Swansea needs; a reliable eatery close enough to Gower (you haven't got to go all the way in to town!) which is a great bonus. The minute you enter the premises you are greeted with a great big smile you know you're in for an enjoyable time. A glass or two of Pimms sets the taste buds ready for the textures and tastes of delicious foods. It's a bit like having 'a party in your mouth'. The whole experience offered at Slice is more than a terrific meal. (read more)

Very small restaurant in Sketty. Cost £30.00 for three courses. Very limited choice only four choices of each course. Very small portions in my opinion. Tiny portion of veg for two adults. Lamb had very little flavour. Bread not very good. Biscuits with cheese very poor. I found the cheese too cold, straight from fridge. I felt it was very overpriced and disappointing. Will not recommend or re visit. (read more)

Great food... the service and attention to detail at Slice, Sketty, is second to none, I would rate Slice as being one of the best places to eat within Swansea, and believe me... I've tried most of them at least once over the years.
Book early to guarantee a table as the restaurant only sits 16, which just adds to the pleasant feel and atmosphere.

Fooda Slice restaurant in Swansea was great. Much, if not all of it, was locally produced (even including the bottled Welsh lager). We chose from 4 starters, mains and deserts. We particularly enjoyed the sea bass, the creme brulee and the local cheese (with homemade crackers).
The cost of dinner for two plus one bottle of beer came to £65 which was just about OK, though I'd have liked an extra potato or two.
