UKGSer is not only a bike site, ask a question about almost anything and someone from its very knowledgeable membership will know the answer.
Warning, it can become addictive though.

Can make you a bit neurotic worrying about when your bike is going to go belly up with one of the faults others have posted. But there is an absolute wealth of knowledge to get you back on the road when the worst does happen.
There are cliques and some real handbags at dawn scratching your eyes out stuff but it is usually confined to the pub so you can avoid the worst of it.
If you have a GS this is the site for you. You can try before you buy (subscribe) so give it a go.

Very much a site for the regular " In Crowd " who think they know all there is to know, they don`t! Newcomers and people who question the regular contributors are often belittled and sometimes ridiculed for asking seemingly obvious questions. There is some useful info on trips and lodging in europe etc but if your asking a technical question you`d be far better off searching ADV Rider Wisdom in the US. (read more)

I never believed in 'online communities' until I joined UKGSER.
Fabulous site and made genuine friends.

I really hate this site, it has stolen my life.
No, sorry, that's wrong.
I love this site, but hate the way it has stolen my life. Plus it has now started to take over my holiday time as well, I end up going to odd places where other UKGSers just happen to be.
Is this wrong? I think I may need professional help.
However, I might just post that on the site. I'm sure there must be someone on the site who's a psychiatrist. Psycho something, anyway.

Full of overweight losers mostly having varying forms of mid life crisis. Most of the threads are about their wives leaving them.... The ride reports section is good. These GSers are pretty hardcore. Some of them even venture as far afield as their local Tesco's.....

Good info can be found if your prepared to use the search facility. The Morocco section is an excellent travel resource.
It appears to be more than just about motorbikes, ukgser seems to be a means for the old, infirm, housebound and socially inept to communicate.
But be prepared to wade through a lot of attempted humor from a regular crowd of keyboard recluses spouting in-jokes and trying to chat up the one of the few women that frequents the forum.
Take it with a pinch of salt and you...

I would honestly have to say that it is one of the best sites on the Internet.
A great source of Motorcycle information from guys who actually ride their Bikes and a place just to talk about anything.

Full of psychopaths who will take the p*ss out of you one minute and then drive 100's of miles to help you out the next.
If you have a GS then it is the place to be.

Its lovely, the people are really nice, there are no cliques and everybody is nice all of the time.
OK, so it's not perfect BUT is is interesting, informative and entertaining. If you ask a stupid question that has been asked 1,000 times before without doing a search or where the answer is in the manual then there are people who will take the p*ss. Just live with it and join in.
Love GSs, Love UKGSER.com

Full of real information and real help provided by real people. It can be really funny in a robust, real world way. Take no prisoners, take as you find and be prepared to participate.
Otherwise don't go there because you'd hate it and you'll become all miserable, your partner will pick-on you for paying a sub before you found out it was too ruff and tuff, your friends will stop calling and even your dog will cross the street to avoid you. If it takes a review to decide if you might like it...

as said, if your not in the clique on there, your input is of little consequence,
a wealth of knowledge but if your new , god help you if you ask the wrong question,
but, overall a good site, and entertaining...
main problem is rule changes abound, depending on your post count or if you know the moderaters,

Quite a hostile bunch of folk that control this website. There is a large 'clique'. If you're not in it, don't expect to be made welcome. Better off going to www.advrider.com or similar - much more friendly. (read more)
