“Service is shockingly bad”

I ordered a pair of trainers which never turned up. My first 3 attempts to contact Sportsdirect.com were completely ignored so I had to make a claim through PayPal. PayPal said 'they've proved they sent it. You'll have to contact them directly to investigate the delivery service'. Again, I tried to contact them explaining this and I got the response 'It's a PayPal claim. We won't deal with it now'. “Disappointing Table Tennis purchase”

We spent £280 on an Adidas table tennis table for our 13 year old daughter's birthday. The assembling instructions were impossible to follow. We had to employ a handyman to assemble and even he struggled. 4 hours later the table assembled the safety release cable didn't work and broke on the first attempt! We are now unable to open the table without two people manually releasing the catches, not ideal if you're a loan player. “Pathetic shop!”

I visited 2 different branches today, one in Bournemouth and one in Poole, but the experience was the same. All members of staff (when you can find them) have their walkie talkies turned up full blast, so when you do get to ask them something about their products you are constantly interupted by their cackling walkie-talkies. “Refunds Policy”

Bought some boots from the Meadowhall branch the other day and needed to return them which i tried to do on Tuesday at my local Nottingham branch in Chilwell. I was told that when it comes to returns Sports Direct's policy is that i could either exchange or have a credit note. I asked for the manager to clarify this and he advised me that this their policy from head office and there was nothing that they could do about it. “Misleading advertising ”

Be very careful with this company they advertise their goods at a very reasonable price but if you go into the store the price is a LOT higher, which means you look on the website see what you want at a price you want to pay but when you make the journey into the centre of town you find its actually 30-40% higher so a waste of your time and energy not to mention fares or parking. I agree though they did price match the £13 scooter i had seen online to the one in store priced £19.99. She added the website delivery cost on also, £4.99 making the scooter the cost of £17.99. However i needed to return the scooter 3 days after as it was faulty - the wheel fell off and they really quibled about exchanging it aswell as trying to make me pay the £2 difference. Has put me off buying from this store in future.

“Faulty Suitcase ”

Bought a suitcase and used it once. The handle broke on coming back into the country. Took it back to Sports Direct and they said the handle breaking had nothing to do with a fault of the suitcase, it must have been picked up wrong at the airport. How else are you going to pick up a suitcase, other than by the handle ??? Wrote an official complaint and they concluded a handle breaking was the fault of the handler not the product. My experience with this store has edged on a nightmare. They will never except that you are legally entitled to a refund with a receipt and goods in the same order as they were when you bought them 24 hours beforehand. Faulty goods, your problem.
