my sister had this phone for 6 months then gave it to me, i was excited at first as i wanted this phone, it was great for a month or so, i have had it now for about 6 months and in the last few days it has completely packed out on me the screen is rubbish keeps blanking out on me. i wouldnt recommend this phone to any1. i would have like to have known that it may break after a short space of time. Coming up to the end of an 18 month contract, I'm still fence sitting when it comes to this phone. irritating. sends blank messages at one touch, screen has broken twice, camera was never good but is now fogged and unusable, quiet to the point it can be diffult to hear a conversation, vibration is often missed even with phone in trouser pocket, volume down button exacly where i hold it when talking so i'm constantly turning it back up.
Please dont get one!

predictive text keeps changing mid text to numbers, it then saves it so every time, in future texts, if you type the same word, you get numbers; the phone has had a software reset 3 times which made no difference; the most annoying thing for me is that the vibrate is SO mild it cannot be felt, i'm always missing calls plus the battery life is terrible. I have always had samsung phones for the past 10 years but now I think it's time for a change of manufacturer (read more)

Whilst the phone is attractive, the mixture of touch panel and normal keys does not work!! The screen is difficult to navigate, which is frustrating to say the least. Howeverm the screen is a good size and easy to see. Also, I experienced difficulties when making calls, either the person couldn't hear me or I couldn't hear them... shouting down the phone is never a good luck and not only are you sharing your conversation with everyone, it also bags you some strange looks.

Have had this Samsung Soul for over a year now, jsut about to upgrade it, but in all that time, it has never ever let me down, always worked perfect! With time it does tend to slow down a bit but thats expected with all advanced phones. Only down side i would say to the samsung is it can be hard to hear people on it, although that can be sorted with a software alteration, and the fact that you can not self install Java files yourself it has to be downlaoded via WAP, but all in all a damn... poor excuse of a samsung! I highyly rate samsungs but this Samsung Soul does no justice!
Touch window has to be pressed hard to work battery is dead after 10 minutes and buttons regularly get scratched. I had my old phone for 3 years and it is still in good nack! I have had the soul for 1 yeard and am now having to buy a new phone. Samsungs are usually indestructible but not this one!

Touch screen is delayed, all the buttons around the side of the touch screen are currently not working and I generally look after my phone quite well. The camera on this Samsung Soul phone is good quality, if it lasts long enough for you to be able to do anything else but throw it at the wall infrustration. (read more)

The Samsung Soul is a nice-looking phone, which I got as an up-grade for my Samsung J700. However, after only a few uses, the central touch-screen navigation has failed and I can't scroll down or to the right, so it will have to be returned. I remember having the same problem with a previous Samsung mobile (not the J700), which I had to return. I would have hoped they'd got this problem sorted. (read more)

The battery is not that good, have to charge it every day, which is a real pain, when you get to the last bar on the phone, it don't take that long for your phone to die, always keep it charged. I especially love the way you can customise all the colours on the Samsung Soul menus and backgrounds, and also the sensitivity of the touch screen buttons, as some phones are far too sensitive (Samsung d900 for instance, stupid phone!). I find the touch panel really easy to use, although when on the internet it can be a little slow. The sound quality is good, and although many people have been complaining that the ringtone is too quiet, I definitely haven't. (How loud do they want... (read more)

I literally had to upgrade my years out of date motorola razr v3 so I got the samsung soul on an orange (unlimeted texts, 200 mins calls) contract. Bad mistake, I didnt get the £6 a month insurance. My one month old samsung keeps turning itself off when you press any button! Now I have 17 months ( £20 a month) contract to pay off with an unusable phone. (read more)

Had this Samsung Soul phone over 6 months now. think it is rubbish. couple of months ago the camera decided to stop working, which to me didn't really bother me, but this was the first thing of many to start messing up. I have now had to use my girlfriends old phone, a Sony Ericsson W850i. Other problems that i have had with the soul is since the camera broke, the whole front buttons including the touch pad has decided not to work, or only works when it wants to. (read more)

Very stylish, sound and volume quality are fine. Love the idea you can create your own themes. The screen is a very decent size.
Was a bit concerned about converting to a samsung as have always owned a Nokia, but so far so good. After reading other reviews was prepared for rubbish sound quality but up to now haven't had a problem. Battery life lasts roughly 3 days.

I absolutely love the phone after having it for a good few weeks, no problems at all once samsung helped me to sort out the problem I was having with volume on phone calls! Very smart looking and stylish phone, love that you can design your own themes so easily and can really adapt the phone to make it your own! absolutely fab phone and would recommend highly to all! I was a bit sceptical about getting a Samsung Soul because I had read mixed reviews. I thought I would take a punt and I am glad I did.
I love this phone, no problems with the sound, the ringtone and coversation is as loud as any other phone I have had, so no issues there. The touch screen is responsive and there is no delay as some others have reported, I like the fact it vibrates slightly when you use the touch screen confirming it has accepted your command.

I have had a Samsung D840 before upgrading to the samsung soul last week. BIG MISTAKE! I have now changed it to Sony Ericsson C902 cybershot. Brilliant and easy to use although camera quality isnt as good as I expected but at least I can hear it ringing-even if it is at the bottom of my bag. Couldnt hear the samsung soul even in my pocket! I had the Samsung Soul phone with Orange for nearly 3 months and its been back twice for replacement and is about to go back again....It drops calls, doesnt always send text messages, send text messages then sticks them in the outbox, and trying to access voicemail is pure torture.....my partner has this phone on o2 and hes never had a problem :( (read more)

When i first saw the advert for the Samsung Soul phone I thought I just had to have it, and was very impressed by the touch screen etc. Though I was disapointed with the low volume in calls, everything else is great. Not impressed with the Samsung Soul phone at all. Worst phone I've had in a few years. Volume levels are far too low - can't hear anyone on calls and miss loads of calls because of ringtone volume. Have altered touch pad sensitivity quite a few times but still having problems with that. Reception is poor to say the least. There are definitely better phones on the market - I'll go back to motorola or nokia next time (read more)

The Samsung Soul Camera is no-where near as good as my previous Nokia (very shaky unless completely still), neither is the sound quality and its just too darn quiet. Also on t-mobile I am unable to get signal alot of the time although I think this is more to with the network. Overall the phone is very good, the call quality is average, You would expect better from Samsung. When you are on a call the voice sounds very quiet and soft despite being on the loudest setting. The phone is very easy to use and the customisable options are very good. The camera isn't as good as the Nokia N95 but adequate for the occasional use. Battery life started off ok but after 3 months now needs charging every other day. (read more)

Volume problems with your U900?
The low volume was really annoying me, but now I am perfectly happy. The U900 is an amazing phone, & after changing the max volume setting (below), the sound quality is incredible. Hope this helps :-)
Follow the steps below to increase your U900 speaker. My U900 have the latest software version, for other versions I have no idea whether it works. Update it at the nearest Samsung service centre.

A good phone overall, the touch navigation is very easy to use. The phone comes equipped with a 5MP camera with flash and has a micro SD memory slot too.
The 2nd good feature of this phone is that you can make your own user theme with the pre installed software, which allows you to totally customise your phone.
