Bought a Samsung RS21 from new, this fridge/freezer looks good and is good when it works properly, however am very disappointed with Samsung. Their after service is criminal the RS21 model has a few design flaws and Samsung should have recalled or rectified this model when they discovered a solution for the problems. Sorry to sound very harsh but am very disappointed and seriously out of pocket.

As you may well have read they are terrible, customer service really rude when the appliance broke (due to fault they knew about but did not inform people before warranty ran out) they have tried saying the fault is not on newer models yet i have read lots of people with new models saying thiers have developed same problem, that being the ice build up in fridge side which eventually breaks the fan. Do not waste your money on any samsung fridge freezer.

Totally agree. We had the heater fitted by Samsung engineer after seeing the watchdog program. Came in yesterday and guess what it's iced up again. Can hear the fan catching when it spins. My husband rng us timer services today and basically said defrost it and see how it is. I will be ringing them tomorrow as I will not accept there attempt at fobbing us of

my advise is to stay a way from samsung unless you like to defrost your new fridge every few months when the fan freezes up then it will finally pack it in all together. phoned samsung to complain and got led around for a dam week before they said its not there problem but you look online to see plenty of people have this problem cant stand a company tha wont stand behind its product by the way the fridge one year and four months old just over its warranty

Despite Samsung extending the warranty to 5 years it doesn't help the fridge freezer goes wrong time after time until it is out of warranty then samsung do not want to know the "fix" they carry out does not always work - they fridge frezer works for a while once it has been defrosted, but it is because it has been defrosted not because samsung have fixed the latent defect I will never buy anything from samsung again as they do not offer customer service

I have had the same problem with my Samsung Fridge Freezer. Samsung are totally indifferent or even hostile to customers making complaints about a product that they are fully aware is not fit for purpose.
But what can you expect when the President of Samsung has been convicted of corruption.

hi i have just been on the phone this morning to samsung and i was ready to explode they just donot care
the senior tech at the executive office wass just rude and talked over me, i ended up rasing my voice
we have had the fridge freezer 8 years and this is teh 3rd or 4th time it has broken down
same problem each time, so it is a fault in the product - never ever buy samsung

3rd time in a year this Fridge part of this has broken down and i am now utterly peed off with it.Had to wait 5 days for an Engineer come out, only to come down next day to find it not working again. I called them back only to be told i will have to wait another 5 days for an appointment, after telling them i needed the fridge working as my Granddaughter was coming for the weekend and her medication needs to be kept in the fridge, i was then asked can i not use a neighbours fridge to keep it in. I have never been so angry I spent around £3000 in comet i one weekend. Never again.

First and last ever product purchased from Samsung.nearly £800 for an American style fridge freezer and within 3 years everything that could have gone wrong has.Never had any problem with Sony or Panasonic products.Samsung are a joke and so is their customer support.

Do you expect that a dryer should dry clothes or sheets? Well if you expect that then dont buy a gas front loader from samsung as they say that this is normal for their dryers to ball up sheets. they dont post this for you to consider when you are buying their applaince . that might keep you from buying there appliance. I would not recommend a samsung appliance as their service is not what you expect when you buy their product. Steve

They were built with a design fault if it goes wrong within 6 years Samsung WILL Repair free of charge.Just read them the sale of goods act.

My rs21 is 5yrs and 9mths old and has had 2 previous repairs before the most recent one on 23rd June 2011. I phoned samsung who deny ever being out to the appliance. To put a long story short and approximatly 50 phone calls and 4 weeks and a day later they have finally admitted that they have a record of repairs on an old database. Basically they called me a liar for 4 weeks and hence would not send anyone out to it. If it was down to samsung i would still have no fridge (i had to pay for the fridge repair which i am currently trying to claim back) I WILL NEVER BUY A SAMSUNG PRODUCT AGAIN!!!!

Do NOT buy a Samsung Fridge/Freezer. I purchased a Samsung RL44ECPS fridge and after 5 months the fridge died on me! Samsung will not provide a replacement and it will take them 10 days to get me a service engineer!!! I have searched the internet and the problem I am having is common were by the fridge fans freeze and stop working preventing the fridge to stop workig and the freezer to freeze up more than it should. It is a poor prodcut design which Samsung is aware and yet not fixing the issue. See the following link where BBC WatchDog investigated the Samsung fridge issue.

samsung have the worst possible customer service i have ever had to deal with. when my fridge broke down i called them, they said all work and parts would be done for FREE. 5 weeks later and im still waiting for the part. the light bulb blew causing control panel to also blow. they are now trying to say i have to pay £140 for original visit and costs of parts and work. they have left me without a fridge for 5 weeks and its only been this long as i called them. all they are doing is apologising for how useless their staff are. do not buy a samsung fridge if you dont need it for more than two years!!

This product is faulty and should never have made it to the market.
We have had the usual noisy frozen up evaporator /heater assembly even after a refit, broken / split plastic fridge door handle in a home that does not have children or is not used 'hard'!
I would now have been better investing a further £500 (ontop of the cost of the Samsung) in a reputable top end manufacturer.
Samsung should have done the right thing and owned up to the problem and rectified accordingly......
Samsung will 'never' get their hands on anymore of my hard earnt funds!!

My fridge freezer was covered by the extended 5 year warranty on the fridge cooler unit. However, after three call outs to the engineer in the space of three months Samsung has now said that the unit is 'irreperable' and have offered me £300 for a 'depreciated refund'. Given that it cost £999 new and should have lasted a lot longer than 5 years and is now useless, I don't consider £300 to be more than a cycnical way of avoiding responsibility for fixing my fridge/freezer. I will never choose to buy a Samsung product again or wish to deal with their service or escalations department again.

this product looks good but as for it only being two years old and already an engineer writting it of as there are cracks all inside no wonder it appeared on watchdog on the bbc, oh and by the way the support you get from samsung its second to everyone includeing the odd job O.A.P. that lives down our street, stay away from samsung unless you have money to burn...

We purchased the SAMSUNG FRIDGE FREEZER RSH1 JBBP due to having a disabled daughter, easy use visible tempreture for storage of medication.You do get loud noices from this product this tells you in instruction booklet.Recently this has got louder.Then I recieve a letter from Samsung,POTENTIAL FIRE RISK,PERSONAL SAFETY ISSUE,I rang them urgently to say I had a disabled daughter and that her bedroom was joined on from the kitchen, I also have care workers using the fridge with and for her,Most of all she has to be hiosted in and out of wheelchair for this reason replace this product copletely due to this product having a fault.Both Currys and Samsung say NO.Putting a modification Kit on but will not test for any faults.I puchased extended warranty at the time of purchase. Iam shocked how serious this problem is and they dont care,SO PLEASE BEWARE.

Along with many others I have the fridge fan failure.
Having had the RS21D for 6 years I have little hope of warranty repair so will be looking for a relacement, but that will work out at £800+ for 6 years!
My previous fridge lasted 20 years.
My next one will NOT be Samsung (nor will anything else)

I bought an RS21 f/freezer nearly 2 years ago. Within 3 months it had stopped working properly - although the fridge temperature stated 4 degrees, everything in the fridge was warm. We called out an engineer on 2 or 3 occassions and eventually had to resort to a threatening letter to the retailer before the problem was sorted. The engineer basically replaced the whole of the cooling system. We have had no further problems but I have just received a letter stating there is a possibility of internal sparking and to arrange a home visit from Samsung. Very worrying, especially as I have 3 small children. . .

I bought my Samsung RS21 in October 2005 and within 6 months had the engineer call out to the fridge (same problems as everyone else with the drilling noise and then going off). I have today booked my 4th callout for the exact same fault. Samsung say that they will only cover the cost of the repair of the unit and will not replace the fridge freezer, and that as I have already had the extended warranty (after watchdog intervention) which runs out next year, they expect me to pay for any subsequent callouts when this expires. They did say that they would offer me £80, as my fridge had depreciated in value!! It cost me £800 less than 4 years ago!! Samsung are ignoring the fact that this is a much publicised fault and are completely washing their hands of any sort of ownership. They say that are not governed by anybody and that there is NOWHERE that I take my complaint to. The supposed "permanent" fix unit that they fitted last year obviously didnt work, but they dont care.

Bought Oct 06: Fridge stopped working showing temps of +29, contacted Comet, told engineer would call in 1 week, told the frost free sensor had stopped working causing the fridge to ice up, solution defrost unit & repower,solved the problem for 3 days, engineer called again & changed the frost free sensor, worked again for a further 3 days, contacted samsung they are sending out an engineer tomorrow, waiting in hope

There are no good points with this Samsung RS21 Fridge Freezer. It has now been broke for at least 5 months, they keep sending service line out. as soon as they think they fixed it, within a day back again noisy smelling warm when will they sort somthing out.

I completely agree! We bought the RS277 side by side 3 years ago. HUGE CRACK SUDDENLY APPEARED in the freezer door...inside where the ice comes down from ice maker to ice in door. Samsung says only 1 year warranty. Lowes Protection Plus denied due to cosmetic only. Will have to start letter writing campaign now.
