with 2 children, it is great to be able to dine in a place that cater's for them, from colouring pages to a play room, with computers games for older children and toys for younger children. The plasma TV's in the restaurant area make it easy for us to keep an eye on them in the play room.

Service very good! Didnt have the wine we wanted. Had to select a more expensive one and at 14 pounds a bottle was much too expensive for the type of "diner" it was. Ordered rump steak and sirloin was delivered. Had only main course, ribs and chips, 7 oz steak and chips. Total bill 38 pounds!! Too expensive!! (read more)

Spur Restaurant Victoria Square is the best resturant ive eaten in in a long time!! Big portions and def cheap.... plus refill as many times as u want!! Try the milkshakes stunning!!!! Service was really quick and all of the staff well lovely and very friendly!! (read more)

Generally i thought the meal at Spur Restaurant, Victoria Square, was over priced. The children's room was very good to keep the children amused. Food was disgusting - starters we got the platter and it was freezing cold and tasteless. Main meal ok - I got chicken which was disgusting!! I was not impressed at all would never go back. Kids room is excellent and although ours didn't use it the staff were very quick to provide colouring in pages and crayons, which kept them amused till food was served.
Top ups on soft drinks were served with great haste!

All in all great night, perhaps a tad over priced but that didn't ruin what was an enjoyable experience.
They may want to invest in a warm air curtain, inside, at the main entrance, as this would be an unpleasant area to be seated during winter months. (read more)

If you are wanting something nice to eat do not go here.
You would be better off going to McDonalds or BK for a better meal at a third of the cost.
The kids playroom is naff - most of the toys where broken & dirty (read more)

Good family environment, has televised play area for kids reasonably priced for regular visits. Staff are very friendly and food is tasty.

Spurs deserve this rating because too many restaurants are not very family friendly, so well don spurs and keep it up (read more)

I thought the service I received was very poor - staff appeared uninformed about specials such as happy hour-drinks were served in hot glass straight from dish washer only after meal was served-bill incorrect on 2 occasions.

We spoke to a manager as very unhappy having to wait 20 minutes for bill to be sorted out-they decided not to charge us so we will go back and give them another chance-we have been going to spur in south africa for 20years and love the food (read more)

Overpriced for the quality of the food in my opinion. I thought the service was poor, had to ask for cutlery, salt & pepper and salad dressing as the salad is dry. Main was server immediately after the starter, now that is a quick service but I think most people like a break between their starter and main. Toilets were filthy too when I went. (read more)

We went to Spur for the first time on Thursday 03/04/08 and was very impressed with the layout of the restaurant. there is an open plan kitchen so you can watch the chefs at work. We had porterhouse steaks that were cooked perfectly (med-rare) and our soft drinks were never allowed to run out by the very attentive server. The atmosphere was great, music was not too loud, and the restaurant soon filled up. they have only been open a couple of weeks so there were a few gremlins to sort out... (read more)
