“Do NOT Visit”

Written on: 18/03/2013

We stayed here for 10 days in August 2012. They hygiene was appalling and the toilets were covered with excrement and urine by midday. The water in the pool was grey not blue. Many people in the camp came home early due to diarrhoea and vomiting. My children aged 6 and 7 had terrible violent diarrhoea and vomiting, our entire row of tents also came down with the same sickness bug. Nice site but filthy - dont Visit it!!!… Read Full Review

“Great site for families just don't book through Keycamp!!”

Written on: 17/08/2011

We have recently returned from a trip to Berny Riviere, France. The campsite is great for families with lots to do on the site and outside. The kiddies race track with little cars and motorbikes was an instant hit with our 3 year old. The bouncy castle was great for our 2 year old although he needed a little help to get in. The swimming pool complex is excellent for all ages and for our 2 boys the children's pool was great as it is one depth throughout so they both felt confident playing in… Read Full Review

As a party of 9, including a 2 year old and a 3 month old baby, we have just returned from a week at Berny Riviere. The park was exellent in that there was plenty to do for all ages and the little beach was perfect for the small child who spent happy hours making sandcastles and paddling (whether permittng). I rarely saw my husband as he was of fishing for carp and sturgeon which he said was well worth the trip alone. There were plenty of interesting places in the area to visit ,including some beautifully kept war graves just dotted round the countryside. Reims cathederal was beautiful and easy to get to and the roads were exellent. I also must mention Chez Micheline, just up the road in Berny Riviere village, which served us an exellent meal and the host could not have been more genial. He seemed genuinly delighted to have even small children in his restaraunt (British establishments take note) and was the perfect host as well as serving lovely food. Now for the down side.... Key Camp need to get their act together as far as the accomodation is concerned. When we went into our caravan, 1 of 2 we had rented, we opened the door to the 'double' bedroom(no room to dress or undress) and were met by a horribe smell which we discovered was coming from the blankets on the bed. On inspection these were found to be filthy, and stank so much we had to take them outside and open the windows. It was obvious that they had not been washed from the last occupancy. On checking with the other caravan we found they had the same problem and the small bedroom which the 2 year old was meant to sleep in was so smelly that it was unuseable. The travel cot they asked for would not fit in the bedroom so they had to sleep in the living room with the baby while the toddler slept in the double room on his own. I had to go to reception to ask for clean blankets and explained why but the girl I spoke to did not seem surprised in the slightest or apologetic, she just said she would have some sent over and wrote it on a list which I noticed contained requests for blankets from others. On the good side our shower was great, not so the other one. I would visit the site again as It is an exellent base from which to, explore the area but I would NOT book with Key Camp as the accommodation is, in parts, disgusting.

My family have stayed in Le Croix du vieux Pont on 3 occasions and are planning to spend 2 weeks again this year. The site itself big and busy but is very well managed with everything spotlessly clean. There is a lovely swimming pool complex with a range of different pools to suit everyone (kids pool, slide pool, large pool and outdoor waterpark). Adjacent to the pool complex is a pleasant bar with a games room upstairs and a disco room downstairs. There is a large terrace area where you can… Read Full Review

We stayed at la croix du veiw pont for a week in July and we loved it. The man-made beach was a nice touch and we used it nearly everyday. The lifeguard was super, he was very eagle-eyed. There are a few fishing lakes, one of which is in the boating lake which isn't really convenient as you have to watch out for the fishing lines, but still fun in canoes or pedaloes. There is a restaurant on site(we didn't experience)which was always busy. We did use the takeaway(berney burger)which was very… Read Full Review

£15 sun holiday booking so a bargain price,I wouldn't pay full price however as I think you'd have better value in an air conditioned hotel mid summer and get TV ! The area was not too commercialised. Everywhere I went I said 'Bonjour, Pardon je ne parlez pas Francais bien' with a big smile & people were more than helpful.
The reps for ALL the various holiday groups were friendly and helpful. We were stationed next to the drainage -it was stinky in the july heat. But also right next to the… Read Full Review

This is our 6th visit to this park we love it that much the park itself is lovely its within good distance of Paris and Euro disney which you are able to book on site and also have the option to go by coach which has a added cost but is worth it if your not to sure about travelling yourself. There is a shop, bar, takeaway, resturant, pool and if you like fishing you can do that hear on sight the shop is quiet expensive but there is a inter marcha just down the road which is cheaper the bar is quiet… Read Full Review

Excellent holiday with lots to do for the kids, accomodation is good and nearby supermarket has everything you could want. Setting is lovely. We went in Paris for a day (would recommend you book train tickets well in advance as booking on the day was hideously expensive). Also within easy reach to Eurodisney which is an awful place but kids love it!!!… Read Full Review

An excellent campsite well placed for visiting Paris & Disney.
Good pools on site and plenty for kids to do.
The canvas kids clubs are great with pleasant experienced staff.
We stayed in a Canvas 2 Bed lodge deluxe which was very good indeed, well equipped and with a lovely quiet location at the far end of the site but not too far really from the pool and amenities.
Soissons station is 20 mins drive (We took a day out by train to Reims *change at Laon)
The Intermarche in the village is fine but… Read Full Review

We went to this site in October 2009 and stopped in a 8/10 person Gite. We had trouble with fridge but the french owners couldn't do enough to help. Brilliant park with plenty of space for kids.
Great idea dong the trips, as it saves any driving. Only down side is the expensive bar… Read Full Review

I loved Berny Riviere La Croix du Vieux Pont! We stayed with keycamp in their one and only prestige caravan! It was beautiful! We outlooked the fishing lake which is stunning! The site is clean, tidy and great for young families! We also took full advantage of the small man made beach as i could sit back and relax while my daughter played in the water! I Highly recommend this campsite, was really sad to leave!… Read Full Review

Berny Riviere La Croix du Vieux Pont has a fantastic manmade beach and a very tidy and clean site with lots of facilities for the kids. The park also has relaxing spa facilities for us grown ups. Really enjoyed the holiday so no bad points really apart from the tents on the park looked a little grubby. From so many holiday parks in France we ended up searching on the web and found a site (myfamilyholidays. com) that had lots of reviews and helped us choose this fantastic holiday park… Read Full Review

We have visited Berny Riviere La Croix du Vieux Pont twice for October half term.
The pool is excellent and the site we found to be very clean and tidy.
The site is very well placed to drive to Disney which we have done twice and also for a day trip to Reims by train (From Soissons changing at Laon).
* Some staff at Soisson station speaks better English than my French !
The bar and restaurant are ok and also the supermarket nearby has ample parking and is reasonably priced.
There is a large… Read Full Review

This camp site is great. We have stayed in the gites twice now and have booked both times direct with the site.
Parc Asterix - a must.
If you have young kids try the pony riding at the stables near the camp site.
For a bit of history visit the Armistice museum near Compiegne.
In our opinion you can't go too wrong with this camp site and recommend the gites.

Good points, short walk to pretty village square from Berny Riviere La Croix du Vieux Pont. Very good location. Bad points, swimming pool changing area! Although it clearly states no shoes, people were allowed to walk round in very muddy shoes (October 1/2 term weather) so when you came down from the pool your feet got filthy. No viewing gallery for the indoor pool, so if parents weren't swimming, they left their muddy shoes near to the shallow walk thru'pool then sat alongside the pool, fully… Read Full Review

Written on: 04/10/2008 by bisseker (1 review written)

We arrived at 7.30pm, finding a rep was confusing but when we did he was helpful. The caravan only provided one blanket for each bed, it was first week in october so we had to buy a duvet. The caravan had not been cleaned previously as the work tops in the kitchen and the bathroom had a layer of dust. Kettle was unusable (probably due to the water) cooker was not clean. There was supposed to be glasses, none were available. Soft furnishings looked dirty, generally needed updating caravan looked… Read Full Review
