Written on: 06/05/2013 by Samsky86 (1 review written)

2010 poked my head in to the show room to see what what was on offer wasnt really planning on buying anything. However the swarm of smarmy salesmen could obviously smell the sale and homed in for the kill. And yes when they are trying to sell to you they are the nicest people in the world who would bend over backwards to help you. However as soon as all the paper work was signed it was like a switch had been flicked and now they treated me like i was the most annoyi g waste of time and... (read more)

“AWFUL SERVICE - DO NOT EVER GO THERE!!!!!!”

Written on: 28/11/2012

Got a car from carcraft February 2012 and still having problems with the company 9 months later! They are quick enough to take your money and push you into getting a car there and then and make everything look amazing, but as soon as you have a query or problem they don't want to know! still having problems to date, spoke to them today, a guy called Shivarni (or something similar) hung up on me 5 times, made funny noises down the phone and was plain rude. none of the staff care there, i... “Ignorant Company to deal with”

Written on: 21/08/2012 by WALOS (1 review written)

Bought VW Golf GT 1.4 tsi, in January of this year. Recently the exhaust emission warning light came on, and after endless phone calls, and making a fuss , got it in to theyre Lakeside store. Turns out it was oil contamination in the turbo pipe. Not trusting theyre assesment, I took my car to an independant garage, who told me the same, plus, the fact that just replacing the pipe, as Carcarft were going to do (at my cost), wasnt going to solve the problem, and that the intercooler had to be... my problem was sales manager not keeping promises,i was told to deal with head office it took about 4 weeks due to them making enquiries.
all was sorted thanks to honest sales person backing me up and was informed sales manager asked to leave company.
only deal with head office worked for me.

I recently purchased a car from carcraft in Lakeside and found it to be a rather pleasant experience. I found a car I love and was helped every step of the way. I would recommend anyone going there to speak with Bradley(one of the sales executives), he got me a great deal and was helpful throughout the whole process. (read more)

bought a car from Carcraft Lakeside on 18/06/12. when buying the car the staff couldn't have been more helpful. what a different story it is now. today, exactly one month after purchasing this car (Vauxhall Vectra 2008)i was driving into work when the engine management light came on and the car started chugging like an old tractor. i spent over an hour permanently on hold to carcrafts customer services and never did get a reply. i sent 2 e-mails half an hour apart and finally after about... Once you walked in their centre in Lakeside, the so called salesmen jump on you as if they can smell money. it is a gang of ex cons now calling themselves salesmen, please avoid them and avoid the temptation. all the cars look glitzy inside the centre until you take them out , then all the parts start falling apart. First you have the finance guy who thinks he is brain surgeon, running up and down with a pile of papers and photocopying old and expired MOT, making you wait while he is working... (read more)

walked there, got a car then after 5 weeks faults in a car start emerging, rang Carcraft to explain, once your cooling period is off and you are tied up with the finance company with your so called drive happy certificate, they don't want to hear about you. Their repair centre is always overbooked, you will never have an appointment within 1 or 2 days, unless you call RCA and ask for the car to be dumped in their garage. However they don't work saturday or sunday that means day off work, car... Ridiculous lack of customer service! Disagreement with what their "call centre" has offered and what Lakeside themselves can do but the way it was handled was terrible! Thing that gets me the most is that there are so many people out of work yet Carcraft decide to employ people who couldnt be any worse at their job! (read more)

I must be one of the lucky one's, I purchased a 2003 Vauxhall Vectra 5 years ago. The price was a little over the top, but I did get a very good price on the car i part exchanged, and todate the car has only cost me tyres and servicing. I must admit that when I first went in to the showroom sales people were all over me, but I made it quite clear I wanted to be left alone to look around and I would call a sales person if I found a car I wanted, which I did, we had a deal and I picked the car... Written on: 19/05/2010

Carcraft has got to be the worst car buying experience I have ever suffered. Went to collect my new car after being told it was all ready with a full service and new MOT. On the way home it broke down. I called carcraft and they said I had to have it recovered at my expense. I waited 1 hour for the AA by which time carcraft was shut, so they took it to their garage. Next day the AA were going to take it back to carcraft, the AA mechanic told us there was no way the car was serviced, so I... (read more)

I found this review very helpful because it clearly shows carcraft are only interested in selling you the car and take no interest in you when you have a problem with it! Also their claim that they carry out a 200 point check before selling the car is rubbish based on what the AA found.

Bad customer service from Carcraft. we have been told many times we will get a call back but they never do. The manager does not sympathize with our problems and he hasn't offered us a solution the manager said our car was ready but then when we phone up the servicing department they said they haven't started the work on it, we were given the wrong spare key which means when we had a problem with the auto natter we could n't lock the doors so the car was left unlocked for two nights,... Both my boyfriend and I have bought cars from Carcraft Lakeside - he a BMW 3 series and I a Citroen C3. For the first 5 weeks after buying our cars we have been to the Lakeside Carcraft every week due to various problems with our cars.
Did I mention that Lakeside have sold us vehicles without log books? They neglected to tell us until we had bought the vehicle that it can take up to 6 weeks to send for a new one!

Written on: 13/05/2008 by kayparodi

We purchased an Audi A4 Estate for £17,500 from Carcraft Lakeside in Essex, looked lovely, clean & tidy. After just 7 weeks the transmission failed at a repair cost of £4500. We contacted Carcraft and when we eventually got through, we attempted to take advantage of our 2 years parts & labour guarantee. We spent 3 weeks trying to resolve this, costing us not only time off work, phonecalls, toll fees, petrol, hire vehicle, recovery costs, etc.
We were finally asked to attend the store to... (read more)

This outfit need to be exposed. I was foolish not to check sites like this before making my purchase. I don't want others to be as foolish as me. Spread the word around about this outfit and save consumers

I was told the car had a CD changer in the boot. I checked the day after the car was delivered, it was missing. I told Carcraft and they said nothing they could do. (read more)

They will never go bust - they are not like every other company buying stuff on loans and motor trade fiance etc etc.. They own their vehicles outright, their properties outright, and about 10 other companies under their belt. They sold 82000 cars last year - and if there are 200 complaints on here, thats still well under 1% of customers that are not satisfied. I have had dealings with them, I've bought my last 3 cars from them, my wife drives a carcraft car, as do my 2 sons. Never ever had any issues.

My husband purchased a Ford Focus ST end of October from Carcraft, 2 weeks later it broke down, a major gear box/clutch problem.....had to wait until a week day to contact Carcraft workshop dept, car towed the following day. The Carcraft loan car left was in a worse state than our one that had been towed! Several phonecalls later (some 2 weeks after our car was towed) I had to send a fax threatening Watchdog mechanics coming to inspect the rubbish loan car and would like to know how our car...
