Good Points: None.
Bad Points: Read below.
General comments: 26th Jan 2008 brought at 53 plate Land Rover Discovery. Paid cash. 1st March complete head gasket failure. My wife and 2 children were also in the car at the time and my kids were screaming. Black smoke was billowing out of the exhaust and the engine wouldn't switch off, cars couldn't pass me on the road as the smoke was that thick.
Carcraft recovered the car and it was taken to the Sheffield branch. Courtesy car was finally given 2 weeks later, but I had to drive from London to Sheffield to collect it, as that is were I was working at the time. Car finally back 28th March, which we then had to collect. All looks good so far.
2nd May 62 miles later (34 miles to collect car) the same thing happens again. I got the car recovered and sent to Land Rover direct main dealer as stated in my NAC warranty booklet as it was a weekend.
I have paid £649.00 to find the fault on my car, as NAC stated that it was wear and tear by their inspector. My report from Land Rover states major mechanical failure. Land Rover also informed me that the car had many new parts fitted, that were fitted badly, which lead to the fault. Land Rover have quoted me £5079.00 + fitting + VAT to replace the engine as there is no other alternative. Car craft and NAC will not pay.
To date, I estimate over 80 phone calls have been made be me and my wife. My wife has phoned the Sheffield branch acting as a new customer. She asked about the parts guarantee that is advertised on the web. She explained to me that she was told if customers need a new engine, they will replace it!
I waited nearly 1.5 years for a car this colour and spec, for its top of the range. I requested my money back as advised by trading standards, but they have refused. Have been told to look for an alternative, went last Sat 15/6/08 to view a car, when I got their with my 6 year old daughter (want take the wife as she goes around telling people not to buy from there) were given yellow vests and taken to their garage, were we found the car minus drivers seat that was on the floor with a fault. This was a car that they know I was coming to view and consider taking. As usual nobody phoned to let me know I couldn't view the car.
17th June still without car or money but have finally managed to get a fleet car off them.
At my wits end now.

If I had known about the after sales service I would never have gone to Carcraft. It has cost me a lot of time in phone calls to try to get our car fixed. I would like to see a very very very much improved after sale. I would never recommend anyone else to go to Carcraft.

I heard lots of bad reviews for Carcraft Sheffield, but I still think I need experience more to write a fair review. I recently bought a car from them, the car got 1st and 2nd gear problems. I took car back within 7 days to get refunds or exchanged. We have been waiting to talk to a member of staff for long time, then he told us he has no power to do anything about this car and refer us to ring customer service in Rochdale. Finally, he agreed that we could find a replacement car within 2 days an ...

When I bought my car from Carcraft I was not given any option on the warranty which is for 5 years. I was told that under the terms of the warranty the only things I would have to pay for would be tyres and replacement glass. I thought this strange and queried it 3 times, but each time I was assured that this was correct, and that all services were covered and I was only responsible for tyres and glass. I was not really surprised to find this incorrect when I took the car in for servicing and ...

Carcraft is by far the worst car supermarket you can ever visit! Avoid this place like the plague. Cars are grossly overpriced (some are double the price recommended by Parkers). There is high pressure sales and they will not even let you test drive until you agree to buy 'on principle'.

I bought a car from the Carcraft Car Supermarket at the end of last year. The car is still not on the road because of their incompetence and poor customer service.
When we purchased the vehicle, Carcraft did not supply the logbook. When we asked about it, we were told it would arrive within 7 days. We are still waiting for it.
We were misled about the credit available on the car. We were told that the interest rate would be 10.9% when in fact it was 23%. The rate was not even disclose ...

Made appointment over phone, and the Carcraft salesman said he would come in especially to help us find the right car on his day off (alarm bells ringing). After way too many questions I looked round a couple of cars I liked and was prompted that they probably weren't quite in my budget, even though the weekly price was well within my budget. The salesman showed me to a car which he thought would be much more suitable. I agreed to take it for a test drive (after 1/4 of a mile the salesamn said r ...
