“Awful garage/people”

Had an awful experience with the service department,Guy in charge was aggressive and rude, told me my car was not under warranty and i would have to pay for the repairs, i had a second opinion at another Ford dealer, who carried out all the work under warranty no problem,They need to retrain or get rid of the service manager, quite shocking really!! AVOID

“FORD BURNLEY MY WORST ONGOING CAR PURCHASE”

I bought a 2009 Ford Kuga 0n 1/9/20. Drove 200 yards and the Engine Management Light came on, Back to ford, 5 minutes driving. Told it was a turbo problem after being put on a code reader, they cleared the fault and I was told it was safe to take home , 35 miles. EML came on on the motorway going home. Very dangerous. Took it back. Swapped to a 2014 KUGA after being told my px car was gone after trying to cancel the sale. nothing but hard work. Picked up the car a week later and it was filthy. I was told 6 months warranty and only given 3 after purchase. The car had a noisy Diff once I was on the motorway. I called the next day explained about the Diff, the car was collected and I was carless. They said there was nothing wrong with it at first, 2 weeks to decide it was the DIFF. I was told I would be getting a new one. then reconditioned one, then it was being sent to non ford garage. Nearly 6 weeks after 1st purchase £8000 down, and still waiting. Very short version

“Poor service !!!”

None of your staff engaged me in conversation and when I enquired about the new ford kuga st line I was told "we have one but its locked up" Having bought my current car from you I was amazed at the total disinterest in helping me change it. I went thereafter to Lookers where the level of service (under the same difficult Covid 19 issues) was like chalk and cheese. So much so I ordered a new Kuga ST line first edition there and then. Covid 19 will have cost your business a lot of money without customer service you will loose a lot more. A very disappointed customer

“Avoid this dealership. Disgraceful”

Any evidence for this review can be provided. I found at a car online. Rang and asked for more detail about its spec. They couldn't tell me and wouldn't give me the VIN number so i could check myself. So I opted to get the car sent here so I could check it etc (£200, refunded if the car is not purchased. Their terms and conditions state 5 day after refusal of purchase). All went fine, got a call, 'car is here'. Went down the next day, checked it over and test drove it. I wasn't totally happy with the spec or condition so didn't buy the vehicle, which they blatantly didn't seem happy about. Asked about the refund and they said they would sort it out, which i believed they would. It has now been 1 month and the money has still not been refunded despite emails, phone calls and visits. The last time they fobbed me of with 'the accountant is not there so cannot refund'. So the national group Evans Halshaw have 1 man who can refund for the entire country apparently. I gave them ample opportunity to sort this and they didn't. Perhaps it is the managers idea of 'payback' for me not buying the car. I have now got the bank involved to get the money back. DO NOT use this dealership. They have low reviews online for a reason The service i got from another dealership where i did buy from was miles ahead of this one in terms of service and professionalism and i would gladly recommend them 'J A Taylor Car Sales - Rossendale' I advise using any other dealership, even if it means paying more. I am not the only person this has happened to from reading other reviews. The behavior shown by EH Burnley is quite pathetic. It is only £200 but it is the principle of the matter. Again please go elsewhere for your car. Learn the lessons from mine and others experience here.

“Avoid like the plague !”

Today I went to view a Mazda MX5 ( Folding hard roof ) at the Burnley Evans Halshaw car supermarket, Sales person knew nothing about the car, was flippant and uninterested, when I pointed out the roof paint was all bubbling , he shrugged his shoulders . I asked if there would be some discount as there would be some work to be done, his answer was ' Its the asking price plus £99.00 admin fee !!' yes they charge you for the privilege of buying a car !!! NO Thanks was my reply. I also left them with a tip ' It may be a good idea to remove the paperwork from the car showing how much you paid for it ' !!! When I rang ahead they could have told me the roof was in bad shape , I would have avoided a 2 hour round trip .

Id been told at work about Evans Halshaw at Burnley by a friend if I wanted to get a new car, so one Saturday we decided to drive down from Crosshills. when we got there we was very impressed with the amount of cars on display and how it was all set out looked very professional so straight away we wanted to see more. We was looking at trading in our ford fiesta to get another fiesta but we saw a ford focus ST and fell in love with it, when we went in we had a very welcoming friendly reception, a very happy looking salesman greeted us (Johny) asked us how our day had been before he asked us what we was interested in which was nice, he took us round then gave us a test drive of the focus, sat us down with a coffee and talked figures, we then went home, he called us with some bad news the credit was too much for our budget, we accepted it and said thank you, but what we didn't realise was himself and were working very hard to sort out the issue, a few days later we got a call saying they had sourced some finance for us, they went above and beyond our expectations, they are all stars there, we are now proud owners of a brand new focus ST all thanks to the team at Burnley MANY THANKS !!!!!

“Recently bought car”

Recently bought car from Evans Halshaw, Burnley at a good price but unfortunately had a problem with the sat. nav. unit/cd player which did not work properly. They did fit a new unit in and the staff did keep in contact with me to keep me informed of the situation whilst this problem was being sorted, which I was grateful for as it showed that they were on the case and trying to sort the problem out as soon as they possibly good. Therefore, the final outcome was very satisfactory.

“Absolute shambles”

I'm only giving them 1 star as it's impossible to give them 0. Saw a car on their website, arranged an appointment to view the car, drove from Warrington to Burnley (1.5 hours), arrived at the arranged time. Spoke to salesman who asked me to wait whilst he found the car (30 mins), salesman returned to inform me that the car had been sold weeks ago. He then went on to casually tell me about a guy who'd travelled from Scotland that morning to be met with the same response. Took us a futher 2 hours to get home. Absolute shambles of a company. Avoid at all costs.

“My mechanic ordered a part from Ford after they told...”

My mechanic ordered a part from Ford after they told him what he needed to fix my car the car part came in to two parts electrical and mechanical was told only needed electrical part mechanical part never breaks so I paid 825 for the part but it was the mechanical that went tried to that part but couldn't have to buy both parts for 1300 as they don't sell the mechanical part on it's own the staff should explain better and are useless they won't even take the part they said I needed back as it has been used all they want is your money people haven't got money to burn go elsewhere if you can I will never be going back

The car was handed to us in immaculate condition and we are really delighted with it. “All round incompetence fuming”

No petrol in car purchased,hour wasted being given hard sell for extras,inc.paint protection,tho later found Diamond Brite packaging in the car,lost documents for car traded in,then 3 diff..staff rang asking me to replace the log book,although had sent yellow slip to d.v.l.a,after re peated requests for log book for new car,being passed round,fobbed off with"we will call u bk.eventually it came in wrong name.Never again,this is the short version.

“Worst customer service experience ever!”

My dad & I came here today to look at a mini for the price of over £3500 & the customer service was awful! We decided to look ourselves first and the car was in the middle of many others even though we had called to say we wanted to view & wanted to test drive. It's had muddy, dirty seats and the rim of the headlight was hanging off! We went inside to tell the man in the office (he looked like he may have been a manager) we had arrived and wanted to discuss the car, however, he was absolutely disgustingly rude to my 54 year old dad and spoke to him like absolute rubbish!! With that we turned around & walked out. No way were we handing over nearly £4000 to some absolute idiot who spoke to my dad like that! Evans Halshaw should be ashamed & sack this disgrace of a person working for & fronting their business! I advise people to stay well away! Give your hard earned money to a company that deserve & appreciate it! I wouldn't even leave 1 star if there was an option!

“do not buy secondhand car for Burnley ”

Wanted to buy an xtrail I was looking for a year. Could not find the Wright one near to me. Found this one on autotrader. At evens halshaw Burnley I thort great. Was reasonably priced. I rang up and ask them to send it to Lincolnshire just like there advert says. we will send it to a branch near you. This is untrue in most cases unless it's a new or nurley car. Because on older cars the buyer is more likely to find something wrong with it and not want it. This is what I was told. Burnley was 100 miles from me. They said I could pay a £250 holding fee. Which is fully refundable so there was no risk of it being sold on my way up. They also said I could see the car up till 7 pm I thought great. I payed The money. There was a crash on the way took me 4 hrs to get there I arrived at 5pm. They kept me waiting for 1 hr then told me I could not look at car that day. Because peaple had left eurley . I hit the roof as I had struggled to be patient while waiting so long. I said I have drove for 4 hrs. Because you would not bring the car to me like the advert said and you kept me waiting and now you tell me to come back in morning. I went crazy. They then rang some one and 1hr later. They took me for a quick look at the car. As I was not taking no for an answer. The car was the best one I had looked at so far lookerily . They would not buge on price even after all this messing me about. They said the screen price was the price. But this was untrue as well. When I made the purchase there was another £90 added on as admin. I said I was unhappy about this and said I would only buy if they dropped it off to me. They agreed. The day they dropped it off. They drove it to me. When it arrived there was a burning smell one of the brake callipers was stuck on. So I sorted it out myself was not happy. Then I noticed the heater did not work. And when it was cold it would not start So I took it to my local evens halshaw who looked at it and confirmed that it needed glow plugs and a new heater motor. They would call me when the bits arrived. Weeks later still no call I went in 4 times before I thretend them with trading standards Then I found out it was Burnley branch not communicating after they found out it was a £600 bill. Finally after I threatened them it took 5 day to get parts and fit them. I did not expect this sort of treatment from a proper company like evens halshaw We got there in the end. But never again

I had a terrible experience also from Evans Halshaw in Burnley. The used car sales team on Eastern Avenue. They were rude, Lazy, & Arrogant. I found every 1 of these men to be Lazy, extremely Rude on the Phone & Tony very Sarcastic. Was just a Joke saying he will get back to me when I phoned up & never did. Was a goose chase trying to get hold of him. I will be letting everyone I know to steer clear of them. A big company like Evans Halshaw should be ashamed of these jokes they have working for them. Really bad experience would never go back!!

“Tyre purchase”

I was wanting to purchase 2 new continental tyres for a Ford car purchased from Halshaws so made a phone call and was told the lady was at Burnley I told her what I required she gave me a quote and I told I had a better quote so she said she would match it at £220 which I agreed to she said she would order the tyres and booked me in to have them fitted next day at Burnley .When I turned up I was told the tyres was not there and the girl who made the booking was in Leicester and not Burnley and that she was told by the company to say that she was in Burnley.So went into Burnley town and got the tyres fitted straight away and cancelled the order at Halshaws.

“Sat waiting for almost an hour!”

I went to Evans Halshaw in Burnley to have a look round as I like Fiestas. This was around 11ish this morning. The salesman was dealing with a couple who were making enquiries so I took a seat. The salesman never acknowledged I was there but continued to wait thinking that another member of the team would come to deal with me. However, the salesman didn't seem to know what he was doing and wouldn't really make any decisions with this couple - kept nipping off upstairs for ten mins here and there to 'check' things and I could see that the couple were getting quite annoyed with him. 40 mins had passed and I was still sat there, still with no acknowledgement and another 3 members of staff passed me several times to go up and downstairs but still no acknowledgement.Two others also came and left unhappy as they had booked a test drive and the carsw ere not ready!! The couple in front of me went, unhappy with the service and annoyed that they couldn't get the deal online as '.....they are only there to get people in to the showrooms' (salesman's words). Another couple came in and the salesman went and dealt with them right away, continuing to ignore me so I walked out. I went to another car dealership this afternoon and have bought a brand new car which I pick up this Thursday. Evans Halshaw have lost out on a sale and I certainly will not return to these again to have this poor customer service.

“Second class citizen ”

Went to purchase a MPV and found a resonable priced C-Max and was told we would get a finance quote the same day. No call so called the next day to be told our details had been lost so gave them all again then had to call again the day after to be told they were too busy with all the customers on their shop floor. So thought screw this and didnt bother again. Two weeks later we recieved an evening call at 8pm from the original sales guy begging us to buy the C-Max we were originally interested in. These guys are not professional at all and treat you like second class citizens if your not spending 10k or more. STAY AWAY THE PLACE IS A JOKE.

“Second brand new ford”

I had purchased a new ford two years ago and was very happy to return, however I must say I was disappointed with the salespersons attitude so left determined not to go back however my husband wanted to see them as he was due a new car, I deliberately did not engage with them as I was still pretty annoyed with them however the salesman my husband was talking too seemed geuinely concerned at the level of my dissatisfaction and at this point my husband was in the process of buying a car from them, it was gratifying that they did not leave things at this stage and went over and above trying to find a way to salvage my goodwill offering me three very attractive deals one of which we decided to go for ( a much better offer than the first time around) the manager was in constant contact with me ensuring I was kept informed at all points along the way and made a point of coming across to see me when I went into the showroom, shaking my hand and ensuring me of his attention not once but on two separate occasions, this rare show of real customer service has resulted in two brand new fords and our continued custom. I know that I can contact them if I have any queries and concerns and this will be immediately sorted, the genuine desire to restore my faith in them has turned what have been a one star into a five star review and my only grievance is I cannot praise the two men enough in name and encourage others to speak to these two when visiting the new car sales team at Evanshalshaw Burnley.

“New car collected today”

Today 2nd June 2015 I went to Evans Halshaw at Burnley with my husband and daughter to take delivery of my new car. We were met at the showroom door by a member of staff who showed us to a table in the waiting area and we were offered hot drinks. A member of staff with whom we knew we were going to see came to talk to us and talked us through the paper work involved for today. When this process was completed he showed us all the different aspects of the car. Details of how everything worked, simple things like starting the car and going on to explain all the controls of the car. The salesman also told us how to set up the radio, mobile phone and numerous other things. It is a shame that the review parameters say not to mention staff names. Our first visit to Evans Halshaw was for a test drive. We didn't choose the car that we first had in mind. The sales person showed us several models and we took the model of car we eventually purchased out for a test drive. The test drive made our mind up that this was the right car for us. Today we went to the showroom to collect our new car. All the staff at Evans Halshaw at Burnley have been absolutely excellent. The staff cannot do enough to help you and nothing is too much trouble for them. The whole experience has been extremely satisfying. There is nothing anyone could do to have made it any better. I am sure that our new car a Ford Eco Sport will be a joy to drive and own.
