“Highlights of Andalucia 6/09 /2016”

Written on: 22/09/2016 by Terryhb260 (1 review written)

An absolute disaster. Thought we would be visiting the Alhambra Palace but Company did not get any tickets. The whole holiday was ruined as this was the sole reason for choosing this holiday. Feeble excuses were then offered but Company knew beforehand but left it to the tour guide to give us the bad news. There were visitors from New Zealand and Australia on the trip and they were devastated… Read Full Review

“Sicilian Misadventure”

Written on: 20/09/2016 by aroamer (1 review written)

If you are thinking of going on the Sicilian Adventure tour DO NOT. We went on the tour 7 -14th September 2016. Archers/Cosmos failed to pass on dietary information to the tour director and hotel though the travel agent had confirmed the details with them three times in my presence. The first hotel Borgo Don Chisciotte was in an isolated location and the catering was totally dysfunctional. Breakfast were not even of 2* quality: the only cereal was corn flakes or choco rolls, the 'hot' food… Read Full Review

“The Majestic Rhine & Moselle Cruise”

Written on: 27/07/2016 by Welshsailor (1 review written)

The Prinses Christina was a small ship holding 100 passengers but had a very intimate atmosphere and we all got to know each other very quickly which made this cruise special. The small crew were hard working and kept the ship spotlessly clean and saw to our every needs. Darine the ship's Purser was the Star of the cruise. She was always available to help with her lovely happy smile and took time to talk to everyone. The restaurant was light and airy and all the meals were excellent especially… Read Full Review

“Disappointed Sicilian Adventurer ”

Written on: 24/07/2016

Have been with Archers many times before, but never again.1st hotel was isolated, poorly cooked and presented food, usually cold and small portions. 2nd hotel comfortable, welcoming, good service and great food. 3rd hotel was poor again, dirty , rusted bathroom, dangerous looking balconies, iffy electrics. The food was at least luke warm and the staff tried but were overwhelmed with 47 in the group. Being a large group it was often difficult to hear the individual guides. The tour manager was… Read Full Review

“Sicilian Adventure”

Written on: 23/07/2016 by annrooke5 (1 review written)

We went on this holiday in May and I'm writing this review because I can't believe that Archers are still using the same hotels (and charging £200 more). It appears they are still getting the bad comments. We have been compensated for the disgusting food and condition of the rooms in 2 of the hotels. There were 50 on our group, we gave up trying to keep up with the guides and hearing what they were saying - not exactly a relaxing holiday experience. We would never go with Archers again… Read Full Review

“Cawley Towers”

Written on: 03/07/2016

Having travelled with Archers in the past , we had high expectations, but although the trip itinerary was excellent with charming towns and villages and lots oh history, the hotel choices somewhat dampened the charisma. They did not meet the standards of the brochure description . First was a remote location , with a limited food choice and meagre portions . Having booked twin rooms , I had to sleep in a put you up sofa bed for3 nights. Hotel 2 was a big improvement with pleasant rooms… Read Full Review

“Gastronomic Italy”

Written on: 26/06/2016

A lovely holiday if a trifle busy. Much better experience than our last Archers holiday. Garda is beautiful location even when the weather is not great. Let's get the negatives out of the way. Easy Jet flights are poor. We had to pay extra to ensure we sat together and our passport information had to be entered for a second time although had been entered on the Archers site. Our flight time was amended from the original morning flight to after lunch meaning we missed the entire first day of the… Read Full Review

“The holiday that never was!”

Written on: 11/05/2016 by DarnellKehoe179 (1 review written)

We booked the holiday in September 2015 to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The holiday was to be a tour of Rome, Sorrento, Pompeii and Capri (We toured Italy for our 5th anniversary and loved it) I Learnt today (11th May 2016) that the tour / Holiday had been cancelled. No alternative holiday for the same dates were offered and we were only offered the same holiday two weeks after that date which we are unable to take due to work arrangements and the fact that it won't be our… Read Full Review

“Dixieland & Rhythms Ab Fab!”

Written on: 12/12/2015 by rogjbell (1 review written)

Sorry this is late. We have been on quite a few Archers Tours all excellent in organisation, value, and interest but this tour was outstanding. Once we had arrived in Chicago and met the travel tour manager we were in the hands of an expert and that also applies to the driver. We are interested in the culture of a country and this trip gives bucket loads from Chicago to New Orleans. The grand sweep of the whole countryside with huge fields of maize, wheat and oats replaced later by cotton… Read Full Review

“Route 66 and the balloon Fiesta sept 24-Oct 9 Booked...”

Written on: 31/10/2015

Route 66 and the balloon Fiesta sept 24-Oct 9 Booked our tour with Archers UK as our Scotish friends had, we are from US. Had three different people I dealt with in the UK. Each time I contacted them by email I would get an email back stating they no longer worked for the company. I was told in the beginning that our tour booklet would NOT be mailed to us in the U.S., they didn't do that, but they would email all the itinerary etc. on June 8, 2015 I informed them of our address change here… Read Full Review

“Western Treasures- Fantastic Holiday!”

Written on: 29/10/2015

We have just returned from our Archers Western Treasures holiday and have had a fantastic time! This was our first Archers Holiday and it won't be our last. We travelled about 2,300 miles and this would have been exhausting had we attempted the journey under our own steam. The tour director was very knowledgeable, approachable and professional. His input really added to the quality of the tour. The driver was extremely competent and both members of staff were delightful companions. I would… Read Full Review

“Fabulous Tour Above and beyond. ”

Written on: 08/10/2015 by Lelp51 (1 review written)

I love Switzerland so the Lakes and Mountains was my 4th time there but 1st with a coach tour. It was also first time since 2008. We were met immediately at the airport in Zurich and taken to hotel. Tour Director and Driver gave us some info for the afternoon and we were sorted. The welcome meeting and group dinner were a perfect start. (A note on all group dinners yes they were usually based on chicken and rice but remember they're trying to cater for Brits Americans Aussies Asians and more.)… Read Full Review

“Spain, Portugal, & Morocco in September.”

Written on: 04/10/2015 by Martinqn40 (1 review written)

Fantastic! Mostly Kiwis, Aussies, & Canadians for company, so the party went with a swing. Rather a lot of time spent travelling in a beautifully equipped coach, and some very hurried stays of only one night at many of the good hotels; a slightly longer, (and obviously more expensive,) trip would have been better, to allow at least two nights at each hotel. Time to shower and unpack! The experience of Morocco will never be forgotten, especially visiting by accident during the Festival of the… Read Full Review

“Swiss Alps and the Italian Lakes”

Written on: 03/10/2015 by cenacolo (1 review written)

Superb tour guide and good tour with beautiful scenery. Well organised by our tour guide. It was exactly what I had expected, true to internet description. Archers were very accommodating, we added three extra days and still had transfers included at no extra cost. All hotels were good, the 1st superb with excellent food. The second beautiful hotel but the food although adequate was disappointing. 3rd hotel was a good 4 star hotel with fantastic food (a real highlight for me). I would have… Read Full Review

“Historic Trail”

Written on: 02/10/2015 by TuckerDwyer (1 review written)

Good tour - saw many impressive monuments and sites. Lots of history re American Civil War and slave trade. Great Tour Director - she certainly knew her history and made it all very interesting. Down side to the tour - arriving late at hotels- most of which did not have restaurants/bar and were far from local restaurants. If you are tired from a long day, you do not want a long walk to eat. Also Tour Operator did not have any arrangements for meeting at your destination. You have to find your… Read Full Review

“ANDALUCIA SEPTEMBER 2015”

Written on: 28/09/2015 by davidpottsthorne (1 review written)

Thoroughly enjoyable holiday. Excellent Tour Director who had a great sense of humour and a wealth of knowledge without overkill. Coach was first class and the hotels were generally good. One little niggle however was at one of the hotels the bar was virtually non-existant. The local guides were superb and brought the venues to life. The one problem I encountered--When I rung to book up last year I wanted the extension which was described in the brochure and was told they were… Read Full Review

Booked Archers Italian Lake Como trip with 3 included tours, in Oct 2014. Told the Saturday before we left last Sunday that we had been moved to another hotel in a different location. Arrived at Malpensa airport to be greeted by a non English speaking person holding up our names. No mention of Archers. Met people who had booked our original hotel in April 2015 but they had not been moved! No sign of Archers rep throughout whole 7 days. Worse still, none of our trips had been booked… Read Full Review

“Rhine and Moselle Cruise”

Written on: 26/09/2015 by CheyanneHernandez (1 review written)

Spent a week on the Rhine and Moselle cruise ship Prinses Christina at the beginning of September. Had reservations about booking it as,price wise, it was cheaper than many other companies. I have to say that there were some smarter looking boats on the Rhine, but we had no complaints at all. We paid extra for a larger cabin, and we were pleased that we did, as others said that the standard cabins were very small. The food was excellent for what we paid. There was a choice of main course for… Read Full Review
