I wanted to view a car from Arnold Clarke as I'd seen a picture of it on their website, so went to the showroom at Stretford. They said if I paid £100 deposit they'd bring the car down from Scotland, and if I didn't like it for any reason, they would refund my £100. Waited one week instead of the two days they said it would take to arrive. Rang them the evening before to check everything was on schedule, yes the car was on the back of a delivery lorry, and it would be there the next morning for me to view they said ..1.00pm Saturday afternoon still no phone call from their salesman to come down, as had been agreed, so drove down to the showroom. Got there and was told the car was being valetted, no it wasn't, was told it was on one of their car parks across the road but the key was missing??? I refused to go home and wait for their call, which is what they suggested I do, so after two hours of me hanging around getting more worked up, their salesman took me across the road to the car park, guess what, a key wasn't needed after all, as it's patrolled 24/7 by an onsite security guard .. Anyway looked around, no car, where's the car I asked, no-one who worked in the building had any idea where the car was, I asked the salesman to ring Scotland, which after making various excuses, he did, lo and behold the car had been sold several days before???!!!

He then proceeded to show me another car, about 35 miles away, the wrong colour, wrong price and wrong age. I told him this, but he insisted that I view it. I told him I wasn't interested, but felt there was no harm in looking at it given that " it would definitely be in the showroom the next day". Anyway viewed the car, nice car but not for me, told him this, thanked him and asked for my £100 deposit back well

About my £100, they did not want to give this back at all, the manager who had refused to come out to discuss the situation with me regarding the sale of the initial car, suddenly made an appearance, and gave every excuse why he shouldn't return my cash, particularly "they'd gone to such trouble to bring this car down for me" I explained that I told the salesman I wasn't interested and he had insisted on bringing the car regardless, and as I only live round the corner, wasn't a problem to pop in as I pass the showroom twice per day anyway. Anyway as this went on,a male friend who had been with me, but had gone looking around the show room heard the heated discussion taking place and came over, as soon as the manager realised I wasn't a woman alone, and that we were prepared to fight our corner, he told the salesman to give me my cash, and scurried back under his rock.

These are by far the worst set of 'sales' people I've ever had the displeasure to encounter. I will never spend any money with them.

Arnold Clark, Stretford, didn't have a courtesy car (as arranged) for me when I arrived for my service. Then they asked if I needed a car! They booked me in for a different date, didn't mention it was a different car, then took 2 hours, countless phone calls to find out the exact model of the courtesy car for my insurance company.

I went to several car showrooms in the Manchester Area, till I reached the Arnold Clark Showroom in Manchester. After Hours of looking at cars, I finally made my mind up to buy a Vauxhall Corsa 57 Plate from the showroom with delivery mileage on, about 10 Miles.
After I signed up for the car, it would take about a week to get insurance and the car valeted and taxed, so on the 11th of July I went back to Arnold Clarke to pay the Cash sum of £8300 from my Debit Card, the money went through ...

I have already said I think I got a good deal from Arnold Clark. However I have discovered four problems:
    1. Passenger door seal allows water in to the footwell passenger side when it rains.
    2. The central display permanently displays Thursday.
    3. Steering wheel radio controls do not operate.
    4. The stated mileage of 7100 was on collection - in fact 8785.

I have contacted Arnold Clark and I am sure they will put things right. I have had seven new cars and a new motorhome in the l ...

I purchased my Honda 9 years ago from the outfit that is now Arnold Clark Manchester. They are expensive, but not as expensive as the good old local garage that claimed to have fixed my thermostat for £81 and replaced the wrong part then wouldn't see me for a further 5 days. Arnold Clark fixed the problem with two days notice for £180. The previous job was a knocking sound from the rear axle for which there was no charge - it was a loose cover.

I provisionally arranged to buy a car from the Arnold Clark, Stretford, Manchester branch. I went back the next day after some reservations about the deal, and I cancelled the purchase, which they were not happy about. Before cancelling I sat with the 'Arthur Daly' sales person. He was very vague about the insurance part of the deal, and never told me what the %apr was with regards to the overall package. I asked several times what the apr was, and I seem to recall him saying it was about 7%. In ...
