I bought a car with Arnold Clark and the whole thing turned into a nightmare! When we were interested in one car we asked the salesman to phone us once he had worked out what he would give us for our car (apparently only the manager can decide this, so we went for a look round other places). The salesman didn't call back and we ended up driving back and dealing with someone else!!! The new salesman offered us a very low price for our car, then disappeared to ask the manager if he could higher it (we later found out from one of his colleagues that he WAS the manager!) The salesman told us that the car had belonged to one of the area managers from Arnold Clark, though when we came to collect it and it wasn't ready,he told us it couldn't be taxed because it was registered as disabled, and they didn't know because the guy that traded it in was polish. This was after waiting around the showroom for 2 hours, waiting for the tax disc that never turned up. We then had to return home in our own car, that was no longer insured, as we had swapped it over from a specific time!!! They said they were waiting for the log book, which magically turned up the day after (lucky or what??) None of the scratches that he had promised us he would remove actually had been, and it had not been serviced or valetted. Overall, completely untrustworthy staff and a very very poor service!!!

I really couldnt recommend this place, the salesperson was a total pain, i only just got out of my car and he was straight over, i explained i was just having a look and if i located anything i would pop over too see him, he decided to ignore this and follow me and my wife around the forecourt. Having been in sales myself, i can understand the pressure he might be under, but he really was a pain. In the end after about 15 mins we left, never to return!!!

Poor aftersales service.... completely unhelpful when the car went wrong... wouldn't fix anything until I "proved" it broken! Had me travlleing up and down the motorway several times for no reason to pick up and drop off car. Would not recommend at all.

I bought a Peugeot 406 from Arnold Clark. After a week took the car back for check up on noises from front & back. Waited 3.5 hrs to get it checked, needed new shockers and fan belt. Arranged to have it fixed at my nearest branch. A week later, left work early, took the car to to my nearest branch, staff told me the car is booked but no parts sent by the branch where I bought it, so I have to take it back to the other branch. Arranged through my nearest branch for repair & courtesy car at the branch where I bought it. A week later the staff told me there is no courtesy car booked for me so I must book yet another date. It has been extremely frustrating and stressful in dealing with Arnold Clarke after-sale service.
