    Visited Parkdean Southerness in Aug 2009 for a 7 night break. It was so bad we left after 4 nights! First night we were kept awake until beyond 2am with noise from amusements and also people (mainly drunk teenagers) staggering past and urinating in various places, despite being told we would not hear the noise from our van! Were thankfully moved on second day, although we were not impressed by the overall caravan park anyway at this point- swimming pool far too small for size of park, crazy golf was derelict, play parks were in a bad state of repair and not really suitable for a toddler, amusements were dark and again no child rides really. Were kept awake by music again on fourth night- this time from other holiday-makers, and although security did stop them it was the last straw for us and we promptly checked out! This caravan park has far too many caravans but not enough to do, unless you basically want to drink all the time! It is also more remote than we imagined it to be and we were very thankful for the other amusements (at nearby park) as there was little else to do. Plus points- caravan was nice inside (we paid for 'posh' one!), staff tried their best, beach was ok. I hope Parkdean do something to brighten this place up soon as the staff have a hard job with the current facilities!

    i have been to southerness 4 times this year and even thinking of buying a caravan there the allstars are brilliant and the entertainment it good , i like the pool and the entertainent we didnt want to leave the park at all i am going again for the september week end and the october week for some more fun and southerness is good for oap bingo everynight and i would have took lots more money because i didnt realise there were amusments and alot of things to do round the park and the drinks were d ...

    We took our 2 year old Daughter and our dog to Parkdean holidays , Southerness caravan. The site and surrounding's are beautiful. The site was very clean and we found the staff very friendly and helpful. We did not use the pool so can not comment on that but our stay was very relaxing and we did not want to leave. If you love Pontins or Haven then this site is probably not for you as there is not as much there, but it was just what we wanted for a quiet relaxing break and could not have been mor ...

    Enjoyed our stay but not much to do if the weather is bad. Some park facilities need refurbished ie. pool, playpark outside entertainment building not good for small kids.

    We visited the park in early Sept and found it very relaxing (if not a little too relaxing) - would have been lost without a TV and found ourselves venturing the 20 mile round trip to Dumfries each day just for something to do.You need to pay for a pass to get in to entertainment at night, which is great if you like agadoo and cheesey "Abba" type bands with lots of kids dancing. It is a nice site, and the people are mostly very pleasant also but if you want some action, might be better to travel ...

    I totally dissagree with the above comment about some of the staff, i think they were amazing with the kids and that made our holiday, fantastic and funny on and off stage and will definatly be going back!!
    Fantastic holiday, the entertainment team were superb and great with kids and adults alike.

    This is the 3rd time I have been to this site but the first time since Parkdean took over it. If this is how they run their business then I would not recommend this to anyone, don't expect the site manager to be sympathetic either.
